It is an interesting way of playing a game, controlling the resources, but not the units.
I'd really like to see this concept fleshed out Post comp
I just kept dying- wasent sure what I was doing wrong either- I tried 3 times with the same result.
It was a cool setup but I would have really loved to have seen the game embedded on a page with the correct size so I didn't have to download it to play it properly (resizing the browser made it nigh-impossible to nail the correct zoom).
Just FYI, you are allowed to fix game-breaking bugs (http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/2012/08/27/ludum-dare-24-weekend-ends-time-to-rate-games/) but it's nice to see the original version too!
