Thanks for the input, guys. I'm going to keep working on this and I'll make the bridge easier to find.
The instructional scene says "Avoid the water!" or something like that. I'm going to continue work on this game and I'll definitely take that suggestion into consideration.
Thanks. I known I need more obstacles, but what I was focusing on the most were the aesthetics and game mechanics, not the amount of gameplay there was. When I actually release this there will be multiple obstacles and even some enemies.
Thanks! I'm going to finish this game up soon and add in enemies. The theme is "Alone" so I won't add in any allies.
Thanks! My dog always came trotting over while I was testing this to see what was howling.
@zairon I was going to make a randomly generated cave, but it didn't work too well.
@Make A Game You probably slid into the water. The sliding is a bug that hadn't been worked out before release.
Reminds me a bit of the game, "Symphony." Nice concept and fun game.
It's fun, but it's incredibly easy to win. It looks nicely polished. Great job for only 24 hours!
It looks and sounds good, but there isn't too much interactivity.
Why is the webplayer a download and not a link to the HTML? it sort of defeats the purpose of a webplayer. Wouldn't you agree? The game has quite a few problems.; There isn't enough room for both the camera and the main character in the hallways, so the camera is always being blocked by the walls. Also the enemies got on top of the player and killed it without the possibility of killing them. There also isn't enough different gameplay to make it fun, only repetitive.
It could be a lot better if you fixed those three things
-Camera
-Enemy AI
-Fun factor
Thanks for the advice. Checkpoints have been added when you find each part.
I have added more information to the description of the game. Sorry for not being more specific in-game. The rod allows you to push crates.
Alright. Link fixed
This copy of Moonlight Sonata is public domain. A hint for the pistons is don't try to clear all of them at once.
Thanks. There are checkpoints .They are when you collect new parts, which are positioned right after the harder puzzles. Once you make it through a hard puzzle, you won't have to worry about losing all progress.
I'm aware of the physics problems, but wanted to get all base mechanics down before fixing them. The biggest bug in my opinion is the inability to move if stuck on a wall. The precision and timing of the puzzles is what makes the game challenging (maybe I've been influenced a little too much by IWBTG when it comes to difficulty). We actually had a real robot at first and it looked had animations and pretty good. When trying to pt it in, though, this happened: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/53668348/robot/robot.html
It eventually was fixed, but it was too late to include into the submitted version.
My logic was that soothing music would help calm anybody who was getting angry with the game (well, that and it was public domain)
Thanks. Unfortunately, bugs are like a hydra when it comes to physics; if you fix one, two will take its place.
The music loops? Huh. The only goal of the level design was to make the level possible (though not very easy). I will continue with this project, and I'll certainly add more checkpoints, especially one before the pistons.
Very interesting concept. I can see why the game was named what it is.
This is great. It has a good storyline and concept and is nicely polished.
Though short, it was a good experience. The graphics style fits the theme quite well.
It's a bit hard to figure out in the beginning, but once I understood how to play it, it was quite fun.
A very nice, clean tower defense game
I really enjoyed playing that. A very nicely though-out idea turned into a pleasant game.
This is a very enjoyable game. It is a nice spin on the classic tower climb games.
The controls are a bit annoying, but other than that it is fun.
I don't know what that was about, but I won. I liked the setting.
Fantastic concept and execution. It's a very enjoyable game. It's very easy at first, but gets much harder when you can no longer escape the blocks by holding down the right arrow key.
Great concept and fun gameplay.
It took a while to load, but the game is very interesting. It's a bit easy to die, though, right after respawning, as you respawn next to the hole in the grid.
It fails to open for me. I'm on OS X 10.7.5
Fun game. The player disappears the second playthrough, though, for me. OS X 10.7.5 Chrome
It reminds me a bit of the Descent series. Very well done.
Huh, that's odd. I'm also on Chrome on 10.7.5. My only suggestion is try refreshing or a different browser. I honestly don't have any idea why it's not working for you.
I may or may not have forgotten to remove the mass of the tail pieces once they're removed. It was on my todo list, I swear :P
Oh, but that's the challenge. You need to learn to be the amoeba :)
@Komradus, will you wear the red crown or the green?
@DaanVanYperen, I couldn't say I have any full idea of what I'm doing when I play either :p
Thanks all for the comments, compliments, and critiques. I do want to fix the movement and then develop this concept a bit more to see where it leads.
Yeah. I didn't have much time so I just cranked a few things out of sfxr. I wish I had time both to make better sound effects and a soundtrack.
