Flicker by PapaCheech 2014-08-26T03:42:00

nice job!

Sideline by Vandash 2014-08-25T07:59:00

I thought shooting is automatic when going up. haha! :p
Maybe this is clearer:
1. Move up to enable guns
2. Left click to shoot

Nice game! :)

LD17 — Islands (29)

Ganjisland by havchr

I liked the concept and it was implemented, just not as much as it needed to be to be as fun as the concept promises. Look forward to seeing any new versions if you do any.

Radio Silence by Terry

I only have one working headphone where I played this and it was probably a better experience than playing with both. Love pretentious art games because they give a glimpse into what could be done with game atmosphere going forward. That said this would've been a much more fun game if it didn't have any visuals and instead used audio cues to signify blockages and whatnot.

Island Skate Delivery Boy by mklee

Fun, although with it being so similar to Canabalt and its irk the lack of speed and jump height control makes it feel alot clunkier than it otherwise would have due to the comparison.

The Adventures of Archie Pegalo by rogual

Great job, bit too bloody frustrating for my liking but very well put together!

Deep Under an Island by Sparky

Fantastic, love these sort of games, great graphical style and too short but a really well built little game.

Treasure Tub by Jonny D

I liked the graphics and the concept, but had the same problems with the audio and understanding what exactly was going on with the map and the hook and the marking of the spot.

Island Raiders by negativegeforce

It ran fine, but nothing I did seemed to do anything, move 100% of boats just did nothing but print a line to the debug console.

Isles of Color by Jonathan Whiting

Great fun, some really fantastically well thought out puzzles, the theming was fantastic, some small problems with controls but still an incredibly full product. There's a few bugs where can get stuck in infinite loops of death and the music/sound was pretty annoying but honestly this is an amazing achievement for 48 hours.

Turtle Ferry by dock

Didn't expect anything less than awesome and you delivered with gusto!

YOU ARE ISLAND. by SpaceManiac

As an island myself, I find most simulations of what it's like to be an island really don't capture the realness of it. Hollywood adaptations of being an island through shows like Lost give an idea that we just run around time travelling and grabbing airplanes from the sky but that's a totally disproportionate representation.

Thank you SpaceManiac, thank you for attempting to rectify this aggregious error in the public image of islands.

Pirate Panic by triplefox

Fun little game with nice audio and clear graphics, the whole roguelike turn system didn't seem to fit particularly well and some of the puzzles involved alot of trial and error but a great effort and surprisingly finished product!

Artillery Isles by Entar

Fun little game, loved the missile interception tracking but it was hard to control multiple islands at once, especially when the AI opponent was firing on all cylinders alot. Still a very complete and well built game.

A Fishing Adventure by Sophie Houlden

Fantastic game, surprising amount of content for the period given all the animation. The controls can be a little wonky and unresponsive seemingly at random but other than that it was awesome.

Monkey Islands by Wiering

Very pretty, absolutely fantastic music and lovely use of parallax scrolling on multiple levels. Gameplay is obviously a bit bare and I guess it doesn't innovate but it's a great accomplishment for 48 hours.

The Floor Is Lava by NMcCoy

Fun game, nice sound and great concept but voted down from what I would have because of the lack of source.

DumDumIsland by eva_jolli

Pretty much exactly what Hempuli said, only with the note that you didn't include the source!

Pirate-Go-Round by tove

Interesting little game, well put together but it just wasn't very fun for a friend and I, the one-way gimmick was great though and I think maybe with some form of aiming it would have been a lot better.

Is Lands? by Tom 7

Made me wish I was that talented at guitar, the quality of recording is really nice. The game itself is a bit too floaty and it was really hard to find your place, as well as some of the art being confusing as to what is and isn't 'lands', but nice and complete game.

The Naturalist by JMNielly

The only bad thing about this game is that there's not more of it and you never got to explore the awesome effects of this system. It really felt like the original Boy and his Blob but unfortunately didn't have the resulting interactions in place. I'd definitely like to see this one continued though as mixing Kirby style role-pickups with ABAHB style puzzle interactions would be awesome.

Pleochorism by smn

Really awesome game, I get frustrated easily so I only made it to the first 3 island level and gave up but it's clearly really well put together. I liked all the art and found the portrait picture to be hilarious. The only place I felt it fell short was on the theme really, since it felt much more abstract than a series of islands.

Nieuwe Aarde by zorbathut

Really awesome little game, amazingly complete and fits the theme perfectly.

Waves by Gregory Avery-Weir

Pretty damn awesome, the shark movement is a bit too annoying and the player movement could do with some tweaking but overall a very solid game with some clear implicit objectives.

Dreams of how we once were by Perrin

I really liked some of the scenes, specifically the one where they grew apart (with the couch then the two seats) and how the world was turned upside down, but the earlier scenes didn't seem to be very interesting. I liked the theme implementation and the use of projectors, but this is a game where 'atmospheric' music is a requisite in my opinion. Overall interesting and well put together but missing some stuff key to the experience that was trying to be delivered.

Island Hopping by Riley Adams

Very nice graphically, very clear what you're meant to do, just incredibly buggering hard to do so! Good fun but too hard due to the controls.

You are me now by eli

Great music, great idea, but the character movement made it not as fun as it could've been, still a very well put together effort for the time and I absolutely loved all the little touches like the shaking when you die. Mucho impressivo!

Pee Wee Pirates by frosty

Loved it, very complete, nice music, simple but deep mechanic, just wish it was longer, maybe with bigger maps and bigger distances between them or something along those lines.

Invasive by TFernando

Somewhat confused by the game, the zoom mechanic is strange and placing the items doesn't seem to make much sense. Could definitely do with more clarification of what it is you're meant to do and a clearer indication of the difference between Glompers and Kiwis.

Islands of the Stone God by jarnik

Very very awesome, a bit too freeform in that it wasn't obvious how stuff would interact at first, but incredibly polished end product and lovely art and sound design.

Island of Darkness by Parthon

The map editor and controls were nice (although the character is a bit too fast), but there's no source here so I voted it lower than I would have otherwise.
