LD18 — Enemies as Weapons

Thwackswinger 2 by squidlarkin 2010-08-23T06:36:00

Excellent! The controls are a lot of fun, and it's really satisfying to launch at the enemies. It's a shame there isn't more in the way of scoring, and a little more polish would be appreciated, but it's definitely better than the modest screenshot suggests.

Enemy of the Solid State by bentosmile 2010-08-24T02:05:00

This was fantastic! I played all the way through to the end, and had lots of fun. The characters were very fun and had excellent dialogue, and the whole game feels remarkably well fleshed out for a 72 hour game. Great ending too, congratulations!

Fromulus by brandoncash 2010-08-23T04:16:00

" what's with this flixel/flashpunk fad it's really flippin' wrong, if you're going to make a pixelly game use something else, flash is for ads which use vector art and suck the utter crap out of your bandwidth "

This doesn't seem like a fair criticism at all. Flash is for many different things, and flixel offers a good SDL style method, especially as people are getting used to Flex. I hope you're not going to criticise every low-resolution flash game here.

EnemiesOfTheLetterB by milsom 2010-08-23T07:54:00

Love the graphics, and well done with the music - very creepy and foreboding, somehow makes the cute game seem very sombre. The controls on this seem to be super sensitive. I'm going to try it again when I have access to an analogue stick.

Collateral by Jonathan Whiting 2010-08-23T07:12:00

This is honestly my favourite Ludum Dare game to date. Wonderful concept and plenty of clever level design. I do look forward to giving pacifism a chance, although I suspect that'll be incredibly hard and frustrating - haha! Very well done.

It's something of an inspiration for future LDs for me as well, to nail down the basic art and mechanics completely on day one to allow for level design. It demonstrates how that extra time pays off.

Psychic Prison Break by superflat 2010-08-23T04:54:00

Obviously Greasemonkey is a massive troll, so please ignore him.

I was really impressed with how well this came together. Very imaginative and surprising, it's a great interpretation of the theme. Love the art style too. Congratulations!

LD19 — Discovery

Cardboard adventure by bmfs 2010-12-28T08:10:00

This was pretty unexpected. :) Nice ending, I felt quite guilty.

Hakken by huhwhozat 2010-12-22T10:58:00

Love the atmosphere of your graphics. :)

Scarab Amazing by bernardfrancois 2010-12-21T11:46:00

Really fascinating, I almost would have preferred there not to have been the top down map. To figure out what the hell was going on from first person would have been enough for this game! :D It's a shame you didn't have the movement steps animated - I find flip screen 3D hard to read sometimes. Amazing work though.

Fate of Mankind by LegacyCrono 2010-12-28T08:06:00

Very nice! :) The minimal approach to the graphics really suited the sense of discovery, and more detail could have spoilt the vague nature of enlightenment. I wish the running had been easier to use, and that some of the checkpoints were closer together, but otherwise I had a wonderful time with this.

Mother Robot by increpare 2010-12-21T11:53:00

Love the atmosphere in this, although I found myself fumbling with the controls. The robots are really cute.

Husk by Jonathan Whiting 2010-12-21T13:18:00

Really excellent! It's almost too much fun to mess around with combining objects, I often died because I forgot to pay attention to my power level when digging deep into the walls. In fact, I enjoyed playing more than paying attention to your level design! Awesome atmosphere, reminds me of some of the bleak eighties robot games.

Autoflotilla by Sparky 2010-12-21T09:48:00

This was really interesting, although I couldn't quite figure out what to do. I was playing your bug fixed version for a while and wasn't able to get past the first windmill. I did like the art style a lot, although found the limited viewing angle somewhat counter intuitive for a sea faring game.

LD22 — Alone

Chromboid by pekuja 2011-12-22T12:04:00

Lovely atmosphere. The movement controls were very stiff, despite the peculiar triple jump. Unfortunately there wasn't enough to keep me interested. It's nice to see a collaborative piece like this :)

Leave my Lettuce Alone :( by NeiloGD 2012-01-07T09:57:00

The 'updated' version didn't run for me, but the original version worked great!. This is magnificent! I got stuck on a level, but I had lots of fun. I liked your hand written instructions, but some mistakes in the text made it hard to read. One of my favourite games of the event! :)

Snow by bentosmile 2012-01-01T18:48:00

Wow, very surprising. I loved the artwork, and found myself fascinated by the world. Great length for a LD game, just enough options to keep me interested but not to get bored from trial and error.

Never Alone Hotline by Pierrec 2012-01-07T09:07:00

Oh no, this doesn't work on my machine! :( I'm on 64-bit Windows 7, and the mouse control doesn't work in full screen. In fact, it might just lock up because it doesn't exit properly. I tried windowed mode too and it locks up again.

Omega Men by Alistair Aitcheson 2011-12-22T00:30:00

Wow, really fantastic mix-up of genres! Very impressive!

I did run into a bug where the game wanted me to shoot a zombie on the checkpoint, but wouldn't let me shoot or cancel, but otherwise it ran great.

Really love the audio clips, it makes a huge difference. I think you missed out on the opportunity to make zombie noises, however.

Step Off by intmain 2012-01-09T22:45:00

Very cute! :)

3 Missing, 4am by Sophie Houlden 2011-12-23T01:03:00

I didn't think I'd be able to cope with this sort of game, but you offer just enough clues to keep me playing, and I was able to get through it. It was just the perfect length too.

5 DAYS by matthias_zarzecki 2012-01-09T21:45:00

Beautiful, this works really well. The slow walking speed hurts this somewhat, but I really like what you did with the music.

Nyan Nyan Stack by dock 2011-12-21T17:47:00

This is fixed now! Sorry for the delay on uploading the new one.

Nyan Nyan Stack by dock 2011-12-21T23:36:00

You should be able to pick up stuff so long as your centre is over the object, but some people are reporting unresponsiveness with jump and/or drop buttons. Not certain what's happening there.

Nyan Nyan Stack by dock 2011-12-22T13:37:00

Jeffz - Believe it or not, this started out with alone in mind. The concept was about not leaving friends behind, and going back to retrieve friends by sacrificing money. That didn't pan out in the final levels, as fetching friends just felt like a chore, and it wasn't clear how to collect stuff at the end of level.

Nyan Nyan Stack by dock 2011-12-23T19:39:00

I uploaded a new version with a few fixes alongside the original :) You can now also press N+Y+A to skip the level.

Nyan Nyan Stack by dock 2012-01-07T10:12:00

Tom 7 - the trick with jumping over the wall on level 4 was a mistake/bug. There's a real solution to all of the levels, but unfortunately the twitchy controls and deaths mean that most people didn't get to them :) Thanks for playing!

/follow by 01101101 2011-12-23T10:27:00

Lovely graphics, albeit a bit heavy on the superbrothers inspiration! Sticking non letter characters at the front of your game name to get to the front of the listing?! ;)

You Don't Need To Be Alone by SusanTheCat 2011-12-23T09:14:00

This is fantastic! I love the idea of a shooter mini-game as a dream sequence. The artwork was nice, but I would have liked to have seen the characters every time I spoke with them. Congratulations to you and your team! :)

WebToW by double051 2011-12-23T09:22:00

I didn't really understand the rules, but I won easily when I adopted the strategy of spawning the same object type. The graphics are really nice, but the display in the corner was super tiny for me.

Alone in the park by iforce2d 2011-12-23T09:25:00

I saw the youtube video of this, and I'm really looking forward to playing it for myself! :)

Alone with... things! by codeapparat 2012-01-07T09:30:00

Unfortunately I don't have XNA, but I like your graphics :)

Headphones On by ektoutie 2011-12-23T10:33:00

Looking forward to the browser build! :)

No Mother Alone by brodavi 2012-01-07T09:38:00

I love this game, despite not really getting anywhere with it. I couldn't seem to get the aisle changing working.
All of your links link to the web game, which is weird.

Love the concept! :)

Alone by gytisam 2012-01-07T09:43:00

Doesn't run on Win 7 64-bit, it just quit immediately. :(

Faster, Goetterdaemmerung! Zombie! Zombie! by andrebeton 2012-01-07T09:41:00

The mines were a pain, especially with the slow lead-up. It's fun to see a html based game in the compo though :)

Mama, I don't want to die alone... by Ailys 2012-01-07T10:03:00

Buggy but charming! :)

walkabout by mramaizng 2012-01-01T18:50:00

Sorry, this doesn't work for me. :(

Enneige by envy3d 2012-01-01T18:53:00

I want to play this, but I'll wait for a version without an installer. Good luck with LD!

Barriers by FacticiusVir 2012-01-01T18:56:00

Looking forward to playing this, but it's offline now.

The Four Hats in "Room to Roam" by tacograveyard 2012-01-01T18:58:00

Lovely art. Fun choice of iOS for development. Shame there's no windows build for iOS judging, however.

LDKittenRL by zackhovatter 2012-01-01T19:00:00

I was excited to play this, but unfortunately I'm not able to get it running. I hope you're able to make a browser build or EXE. Good luck with LD!

Furever Alone by Waynetron 2012-01-09T21:31:00

This is amazing in every way, and probably my favourite game to day. I especially like the sound effects.

Midas by Wanderlands 2011-12-22T11:25:00

This is the most wonderful game I've played during LD22. I hope I find some more games as special as this.

The Vestibule by Sailerius 2011-12-23T09:27:00

Love the artwork for this. Downloading now!

LD26 — Minimalism

beTween by Benn 2013-04-29T16:09:00

I love this! Really great concept. The levels are a little too long, and it's boring to get trapped on a really big loop, but I love the idea and had a lot of fun playing.
