Somewhat confused by the game, the zoom mechanic is strange and placing the items doesn't seem to make much sense. Could definitely do with more clarification of what it is you're meant to do and a clearer indication of the difference between Glompers and Kiwis.

Rolf

Would be great if it was possible to click&drag to place walls and traps. Interesting concept!

pythong

haha, very nice concept. brian is right when he says that zooming is kinda strange (maybe using mouse + wheel next time helps). also, there's a simple way to win: (so more tuning needed)
-trap a few kiwis with walls (multiply by feeding, but not needed)
-wait a long time
-build traps across the islands. done :D

KavuDX

I trapped the kiwis thinking that I was so clever only to find out that probably everyone already did it in order to win.
Nice game, didn't last very long... Just waiting for the gloompers to die...
The lack of audio also killed my mood =/

increpare

interface feels a litttle clunky, but it's still cool

dock

I find myself really wishing that I could click and drag to draw walls, especially because I'm using a laptop touchpad. Great work though, very complex for LD!

Cooshinator

Neat concept, but I found it hard to really get into the game.

Draknek

Game is way too zoomed out by default: you can't do or see anything at that scale. If you focused the same game mechanics into a smaller level size I think it might be more playable.

Nice idea though.

jplur

I built a zoo for the last remaining glomper then released him . Entertaining simulation!

Hempuli

The engine is a bit clumsy, but I loved watching those tiny dots running all over the place, and the kiwi population slowly decreasing. :)

philomory

A very interesting game idea, though after thinking about it for only a few minutes it becomes quite easy. Too bad it's not so easy in real life.

Nonetheless, easy didn't mean boring, and I stuck with it until I had won, enjoying myself the while. Good job.

arielsan

I like the idea of the game, it remind me when I was a kid and play Sim Life :D

eli

It's a Brownian motion simulator!!! I think I saw Maxwell's Demon in there somewhere.

Well, the concept is definitely there, and it somehow looks like it does what you wanted it to do. Another commenter said SimLife, which might have been the inspiration.

I think this reminds me of the flaws of most entropy-reducing games; it seems unnatural to simply negate the full-blown chaos of the world.

xeon06

I liked it, but the way you did the graphics, so small... That I didn't like.

Endurion

Hmm, this could be a real fun game if it weren't for some flaws:
The outermost view is useless, you can't distinguish glompers from kiwis. The glompers replicate way too fast. You basically have to go in the medium zoom, hunt for a red blob, zoom in and try to put traps in front of it. Using the walls is kinda useless as they move way too fast for me being able to trap them.

Has potential though!

The zoom control over the menu breaks the game flow. Having keyboard shortcuts for chosing the current build item would help a lot.

Really need dragging to place stuff... individual clicks at this scale is insane! I don't think the rules actually work as is. With one simple change - all creatures die after say 30 seconds without eating - it would be about 10x more interesting, since you wouldn't have to lay traps on every square inch of the island or wait 8 hours to finish off the glompers. Either way though, it doesn't work since the only strategy is to box in some kiwis and clean up (or with my new rule, wait). Under these rules, you have "absolutely never let glompers and kiwis interact in any way", which isn't much like reality. The game would've been pretty much the same if there was only one kiwi and one glomper (also, breeding via trees is useless, all it does is feed glompers! I did it for fun, though). If you had just gotten simulation rules that worked, this could've been really great. But without them, it's more of just something to watch. And then unleash the glompers for maximum destruction.

SonnyBone

This went CRAZY FAST for me. It took less than 2 minutes for the kiwis to die off. :(

I can't build walls fast enough. I agree that we need click and drag for wall placement.

Tozy

Not very fun. =(

someone

Nice concept. The controls are a bit awkward with zooming and drawing. The islands are a bit too big, and a speed control could be useful as everything is moving way too fast. The idea had potential though...
