LD27 — 10 Seconds

Short Circuit by Nick Cash 2013-08-30T00:58:00

Interesting concept, the stacking powerups lends a little bit of strategy to the proceedings. There's a little too much going on with the bullets unfortunately, it's super easy to die accidentally. Still good job!

Colour by Spit Tex 2013-08-30T03:50:00

Possible issues with running this game on a Windows 7 64-bit computer? At times the blocks disappear and start blinking out when you move... wish I could play!

Duke Dashington by AdventureIslands 2013-09-08T08:14:00

Really excellent entry, reminded me a bit of the old Wario Land games in an awesome way! The controls are a bit finicky, but with a tiny bit of tweaking I'd love to see this on a phone in the future!

Clockwork Cat by patrickgh3 2013-09-06T22:21:00

Really adorable! Really great job mixing up the puzzles and mechanics enough to not get repetitive. Would love to see this mechanic/game fleshed out into a fuller experience.

RUZH by syawqy 2013-08-29T08:25:00

Good spritework! Wished there was a 2x option so I could see the bullets and enemies a little more clearly.

Who cares zombie-swingers from Venus on the Yellow Submarine? by bukt 2013-08-30T03:59:00

Really awesome game idea! It was a little strange and by the end I'm still not entirely sure how exactly everything connects, but I kept on playing. Loved the little joke about the "any" key. Great job!

Clocked In by rylgh 2013-08-30T06:51:00

Really cool stuff! The right amount of challenge and the concept is really creative. The way the ball subtly morphs shape based on your direction of movement is a nice nice touch.

Picto-Tel by deathray 2013-08-29T07:00:00

Wow, this is pretty impressive technically to complete for Ludum Dare! It's a little confusing to join games though and I accidentally created a few empty pictures myself due to the GUI.

RimorD by Verz 2013-09-08T07:32:00

Exceedingly clever. Everything here is top-notch from the mechanic to the graphics to the writing. The only things I wished is that I could replay the game on a "slower" setting afterwards so I can read all the dialogue without being rushed every 10 seconds.

Shoot10 by vani77a 2013-08-30T06:41:00

I'm having the same error as ZeppelinCaptain running the game, I've downloaded the zip and everything. Are there additional files I need?

How Low Can You Go? by Hayawi 2013-08-30T06:25:00

Interesting idea to dig down as deep as you can. The connection to the theme is a little weak admittedly and I wished there was a little feedback when you were getting hit, etc. Good job!

Endless Run by gmaker 2013-08-29T07:36:00

Spritework is really nice, although the sword should reach out a little farther to give better feedback on the hitbox. Wish the game was a little "faster" overall in the sense that the game could feel speedier. All the hitboxes seem a little too big, it makes judging whether some items need a single jump or a double jump a little hard. Like the idea of an endless runner with a little more skill. Good job!

Future Sport 3000 by Alexander 2013-08-30T00:52:00

Really really interesting game. It's not immediately clear, but once you get the rules it a pretty unique take on sports. The crazy primary colors worked for me since it fits into the madness of the main game, but I can imagine it's pretty polarizing. Good job on sticking with your instincts and making a game unlike anything else in LD!

Duel by zlowrance 2013-08-30T06:40:00

Really great execution! You really nailed all the small details here. The only thing I wish you would have added was some small "tells" for the AI characters to know what their next move might be.

Whodunit by Nezzhil 2013-09-10T01:34:00

Really solid idea, just wished it wasn't so finicky to investigate or talk to people, it's a little annoying trying to stand in "just" the right spot. For such a fast-paced game the interruptions when talking/examining break up the flow a bit too much. I just really wished it was a rapid-fire sort of crazy investigation game. Still solid stuff.

MegaPunch by Nick Weihs 2013-08-30T07:21:00

This is really super-impressive for the jam! The online isn't perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but the fact that you even have networked play here is sorta amazing.

The jumping feels a little too fast, wish it was a little floatier like Smash Bros. so you could maneuver platforms a little easier. Finally I hope you keep on working on this as you go forward!

Time Surge by Solifuge 2013-08-29T07:23:00

Wow! This is definitely one of the most impressive games I've seen from this LD. I really like the way the rooms build on top of each other and there's some super clever moments. Great job with the puzzle design, I can't imagine doing all of this in 72 hours!

Meltdown by Crefossus 2013-08-29T06:29:00

Unfortunately it looks like you didn't get to finish your game. I will say going forward you need to have a way to play your game without registering for a service. Most people will be unwilling to sign up for something just to try a single game out. PlayCanvas must have some sort of publishing option at least, if not I'd recommend using a different engine/tool building your games in the future.

Escape From Homeshank by ColdBrain 2013-08-30T06:30:00

The art and sound are really cute and enchanting! I wish the controls were a little tighter, it's really easy to accidentally get caught on objects and sometimes I feel like the game doesn't detect when I'm running versus flying properly. Otherwise great job!

Lion Racing by TammiLion 2013-08-29T06:49:00

Really interesting idea, people don't typically try simulations for LD! Like the idea of lions racing a lot, the graphics are simple but cute. Wish the sounds were a little quieter though and some of the sound effects for succeeding and failing got grating after a while. Wish jumping would have been implemented too.

Big City Goat Adventure by Sebby 2013-08-29T07:10:00

I really enjoyed this game! It's a little strange initially and the Qbert/isometric setup makes it a little hard to navigate, but once you get into it the puzzles are actually quite interesting! I really would love to see this developed further.

TickTock by Arcane Noise 2013-08-30T06:18:00

Wish the level loads didn't take so long especially when retrying levels. The clock graphics were pretty interesting though, would have liked to see a little more variety!

Ephemeral by Delca 2013-08-29T06:40:00

Good game! The graphics and audio are simple, but effective for the type of game this is. Thanks for including some debug controls like level skip, that was really useful for a few levels where the Tiler built a tile in the wrong area.

The only thing I would add is a death button so it would make things go a little faster plus allow you to be more precise with some characters. Overall good job!

Chrono Blood Ninja by theholychicken 2013-08-29T07:58:00

Flows so smoothly, great job on making it nice and snappy. Immensely satisfying just cutting through swaths of enemies.

LD#27 Ghost Protocol Alpha by lasertictac 2013-08-30T01:04:00

The shaking is a little too intense, might not be suitable for a lot of people to play.

Cube fighter by MediGFX 2013-08-29T07:41:00

Good job with completing your first LD game! The first one is always the toughest.

t.i.m.e by Asar Dhandala 2013-08-29T07:27:00

I don't know if it's intentional or not, but the way the ticking sounds build on top of each other after every restart really makes the game for me. Each death feels like it adds that much more tension with just sound. Really excellent choice of sound effects for the game!

Five By Five by cy4n 2013-08-29T07:31:00

As other people have said, the walls are very difficult to make out against the floors in the maze. I thought the presentation is really interesting, but only being able to see 2 squares max might be a tad too limiting. I have to say there are some really interesting design decisions here and with a little more polish this could be really cool.

Ahh! It's Chasing Me! by Zknet 2013-08-26T05:09:00

Appropriately spooky atmosphere for a game where you are being hunted. Unfortunately the game runs only for 2 playthroughs before you start clipping through the floor.

Graphics are functional, would have liked to have seen more varies terrain than trees and the ghost itself is only seen if you're about to die. Interpreting the theme as a "10 second headstart" is clever though.

I wish overall there was a better sense of being "hunted" in this game. Right now it still very much feels like you're just walking around a sparse forest and even when the chase is on there's no real sense of urgency. It would be nice when a ghost gets closer to you to both warn the player and give them a chance to escape! Having a dash mechanic could add a lot of tension and action to the game.

Still congrats on finishing Ludum Dare! Good luck on getting started in game development and hopefully you'll be working on many future Ludum Dares to come!

Sequor by Laddo D 2013-08-29T07:46:00

Really cool concept, it's definitely a stretch of a theme but that's okay when it's something as original as this. Wish there was a little more control over your followers, sometimes I feel bad because they just run straight to their deaths!

Bomb defuse - 10 seconds by choqaae 2013-08-29T08:17:00

Really interesting setup, if the upgrades could stack on top of each other I feel like you could really start creating some interesting level designs. Really liked the map preview too, gave you a chance to plan your route. Great job!

PILLOWMAN Defeats the Robots by Spencer Alves 2013-08-29T07:49:00

I have to say using actual physics for bullets is really interesting. I'd almost be interested in an entire game where you have to work with bouncing bullets. :)

Time Perception by Reyn 2013-08-29T07:54:00

This is such a strange game, but I really loved it. Also the Director's Cut is pretty awesome (you sneaky bastards). :P

Jim the Alien Parasite by pelayobesa 2013-08-29T08:23:00

Good stuff! The mechanics are very simple, but effective. The forced timer for body transitioning really does force you to plan your moves. The only thing I would improve is making the AI a little more forgiving. Otherwise great job!

10 Second Sushi by mutilator 2013-08-30T00:43:00

Hit detection is a little wonky, but nice simple game. The goal is very clear.

10/10 by bobblehat 2013-08-31T17:35:00

Very simple! Interesting premise, would definitely like to see you expand on it in the future.

Hourglass by DoubleS 2013-08-30T07:29:00

Excellent excellent stuff. Just about everything here works, the visuals are gorgeous, the audio complements the mood, and the game is on the right side of just hard enough to make it a challenge. The time scaling as you get closer to the goal is really inventive. Awesome job! One of the best things I've seen in LD!

Antidote by Antidote 2013-09-04T23:13:00

Really terrific job! Satisfying feedback when shooting and moving around and really good job on the audio/visual elements of the game. Picking up gems just sounds good. Great stuff, looking forward to seeing this game fleshed out in the future.

10.00s...10.00s...10.00s... by kirbytails7 2013-08-29T08:30:00

The death animation is pretty cool! Wall jumping is a little awkward, but once you get the hang of it you can manage. Really nice atmopshere also, you get a lot of mileage out of the really nice music to give the game this odd sense of dread.

The only one by JaJ 2013-09-09T22:00:00

Beautiful stuff, just long enough to tell the story you wanted, but not too long to overstay its welcome. A wonderful interpretation of the theme and some amazing execution.

FoxBox by Malactus 2013-08-29T06:53:00

Really nice idea! Even though everything are just boxes you really get the sense of the "hunt" in the game. Great job with the controls, it feels rather nice running around and jumping to avoid the dogs and hunters.

TOO MANY BULLETS by mklee 2013-08-27T06:57:00

Thanks Shugor, unfortunately no music due to time constraints. I'll be adding music and sound soon for a post-compo release.

Restless by aeveis 2013-08-29T06:55:00

Good graphics, there's a nice mood to the game with the slowly darkening screen. Wish there was a little more to do within each level, the enemies don't seem to do very much. Still good effort!

LD30 — Connected Worlds

One Ship Two Ship Redshift Blueshift by 01010111 2014-08-27T05:20:00

It takes a second to get the idea of multiplayer shmup Breakout, but this game really sells it. Super-crunchy feel, good graphics and audio, and overall a high high level of polish.

A Roller-Skating A-List Odyssey by AnnaGavaldaKedavra 2014-08-27T04:40:00

Really weird yet somewhat compelling. The cyclical nature of the skateboarding makes the somewhat slippery physics more acceptable and the message of the game really starts to come through after seeing each screen over and over. If nothing else it's a breath of originality. Great job make a LD game that doesn't fit the mold!

Colonized worlds by Gabe 2014-08-27T04:22:00

I'm also having issues trying to get the game running. I have GameMaker: Studio installed, but do we need 8.1 or an earlier version?

Bird Simulator - Worlds Connected by Poo by eastes 2014-08-27T04:29:00

The simplified 3D is really awesome-looking. I loved the trees in particular. Very cheery and chirpy. Great job!

The one between the worlds by zdavid112z 2014-08-27T04:33:00

I like the biblical tone of everything, very strange and slightly unsettling. It is a little too unforgiving and that coupled with the audio can make the game hard to play. Still I think you really ran with the theme here and made something unique.

Worlds Collide by Rage Paint 2014-08-27T04:06:00

Really simple and fun game. Has a lot of Katamari in it and it runs really smoothly. Wish the timer was a little more noticeable so the ending wasn't as abrupt. Good job!

e|merge by MoonlightBomber 2014-08-27T05:06:00

I would have liked a little more interaction even if there were some simple dialogue choices. The music suited the tone of the story really well though.

Converged by gnx 2014-08-27T05:41:00

Interesting concept, catching on to the idea that each level is the same because of parallel universes is a bit clever. It does get a little too repetitive and the inability to see into an open room right next to you is a little frustrating, but the game has a lot of style with the music and colors.

Ink Motes by aeveis 2014-08-28T14:41:00

Very cute game! Mechanic is simple, but nice and there's some nice challenge with the puzzles. Great job!

LD31 — Entire Game on One Screen

Dino Dash: Rex's Run by Mechatodzilla 2014-12-13T06:45:00

Very faithful rendition of classic LCD games. Enjoyed the clever touches like reusing the dino attacking the UFO/being carried away in the same way those games would do. Good stuff!

Music by Wakka 2014-12-13T06:55:00

There's a really clever idea here! The revealing of additional pieces that you need to add into your musical contraption is a neat mechanic that deserves to be explored even further. Great job on the audio also, the entire thing is terrific for just 8 hours of work!

1 Screen by 6DownStudios 2014-12-13T07:00:00

The initial discovery of having to knock down the title is pretty clever! There's a nice surprise/bit of humor from realizing that's the objective of the game. I agree with the other comments that boomerang retrieval is too difficult, it would be nice if the other objects could play a unique role going forward. The idea of destroying the environment in bits and pieces has a lot of potential, hope you keep on working on this going forward!

LD33 — You are the Monster

Escape From Twump Tower by 01010111 2015-08-25T04:05:00

My little billionaire can't be this cute! Fun art, great music, and loved the little Twump when he's trying to pluck items. :) Stacking blocks can be a bit cumbersome and sometimes blocks fall underneath other blocks. :( Very cool overall still!

Skeleton Gardens by nka 2015-08-27T05:45:00

Very cool game! The graphics (especially the branches and lines with the skeleton tree/death claw) are very well done and the game plays very smoothly! The difficulty is a bit too easy, it's really hard to die as long as you keep moving. Awesome job!

Earth Was a Bad Choice by zatyka 2015-08-26T03:39:00

Wow this is really excellent! You took an endless runner (of sorts) and added a really fun and interesting mechanic here. Lots of nice variation with different vehicles, missiles, bombs, etc. Kudos on having a fun little ending that played on the mechanic nicely. Excellent job!

Even In Your Ludum Dare by madameberry 2015-08-24T03:00:00

Thanks to this I know what F.O.E. is now.

Separated by rxi 2015-08-24T03:09:00

Gorgeous, a narrative walker in top-down form done very well. The music deserves special attention for completely selling the mood and story.

Power Went Out At The Dinner Party by fepark 2015-08-24T02:29:00

This is great! The audio here is pretty amazing and the dialogue is really funny. I wish I could have more dinner adventures with these... unfortunate souls.

Ghost Life by karlinfox 2015-08-26T03:24:00

Really interesting toy here, the physics with the gathering and bounciness of the spheres feels just right with the rubberbanding effect. The graphics are really nice too. I can see where this could go in a full-fledged game and hope you pursue this a bit more!

Hydra by JoeProgram 2015-08-24T03:44:00

Really clever game! Once the knight cut the head off and two appeared I got it. :) This has a really awesome fun toy-like/tool aspect to arranging your hydra and creating weird shapes to fight back. The only thing I wished was that there a bit more time between waves of knights so I can set up my hydra and experiment with new attack patterns. Awesome job!

Dungeon Decks by Nick Weihs 2015-08-24T04:22:00

Very neat use of reversing the dynamics of a typical turn-based strategy game, one against many. Really cool idea and would love to see this jam game further developed!

Road To Hell by Hyoga-3D 2015-08-25T05:44:00

Really interesting idea, it took me a minute to get that the speed was an automatic thing and not any button or speed boost to hit on the road. The graphics are really awesome and once you get up to speed it's a lot of fun. I'd say it'd be interesting to have a mode where you just destroy cars, there's a lot you could do there and it feels very satisfying. Good job!

Amusing Catventures by Jakub Koziol 2015-08-25T03:27:00

Haha this is a lot of fun. Clever use of the theme of "you are the monster". The laser cat was my favorite part, the sketchy laser and objects to destroy were very charming. Great job!

Delicious Cortex by deepnight 2015-08-24T04:41:00

Really great stuff, wished I had just a little more control over which enemies my zombies would attack (but then again they are zombies...). Awesome and fun!

Adula by conormn 2015-08-25T05:27:00

Woah so slick. Really nice set up here and the idea of the simple time-sensitive actions is really clever. It's super short, but I would love to see this expanded into a full game!

$!*# by Andrey 2015-08-24T03:16:00

Heh, this is a well-done word searcher. I sorta get the dirty mind = monster idea and it's a flexible enough theme to fit stuff like this. I ran into an issue where I can form larger words with "fuck", but get cut off as soon as I spell out fuck. Still very classic, nice word game here!

Mr. Yeti's Fast Food by Balzaque 2015-08-25T03:51:00

Really awesome! Being the yeti is way more fun than the skier as it turns out. The controls are a little drifty and it can be slightly frustrating to run into trees. :( But the animations and art are really gorgeous! Now you just need to add the skiers wiping out on jumps that the yeti can easily eat! Great job!

Going Downtown by justinooncx 2015-08-26T03:43:00

Fun game! It took a while to get the idea that you're the guy running away and the goal is to knock others into the monster, but once you got it it's like a strange rhythm game of sorts. Good job!

Grave by uheartbeast 2015-08-24T03:37:00

It's hard to believe this was made in a jam! The combat is very polished, lots of learning and understand how to position yourself and use your roll just properly. The animations are gorgeous for your character and every enemy. Really terrific stuff!

Lovers on a Park Bench by peterthehe 2015-08-25T05:53:00

This is hilarious and I cannot recommend this highly enough. The "twist" so to speak is pretty great and the overwrought dialogue with the voice synthesizer is just the icing on the cake. Terrific job here!

Gluttony by monstersauce 2015-08-26T03:28:00

The monster is really creepy! The sunlight/daylight is a bit hard to notice and it feels like the game ends a bit too quickly regardless. Good job!

The Old One by Chris Olsen 2015-08-25T04:15:00

As everyone else has said, the animations, style, and mood here are amazing. Really loved the gameplay, struck a nice balance and you really felt like one of the "old gods". I'm a bit torn on the delay with raising the fists, once you learn the timing there's a nice rhythm to it... but I can see how having more clear feedback on that aspect might reduce a bit of frustration. Still amazing job!

WAYWARD by cowboycolor 2015-08-25T06:36:00

Very subtle use of the theme. Art is gorgeous and there's a sense of bounciness and life to everything. Sound is great too except for your footsteps (sounds a little too like the bubbles). The combat can be pretty brutal, feels very intentionally so but I can see other people getting stuck on that. Great job!

KidsGrace by Polith Games 2015-08-26T04:04:00

Very cute game! It goes on a bit long and it feels like the keys stay on the screen a tad too long to make you believe you can hit them. Still the art is great and the reactions and the changing dance moves as you do better/worse really sell the game. Great job!

StoneWalker by Jamie Guillemette 2015-08-25T06:48:00

Very cute with the blocky guys and the buildings that resemble Lincoln Logs. Wish the destructable physics were a bit more "real", the current buildings don't fall apart as much as spawn new blocks that tumble. Very classic interpretation of the theme, good job!

MonSTEROID by blahgyn 2015-08-25T06:26:00

Interesting use of the theme becoming a muscle monster. Some nice jokes in here and there's a decent variety in attacks. It's a bit overwhelming from the start, one more defensive option would have been nice other than the flex to reject projectiles. Good job!

30 Seconds To Be The Monster by MartinFernandez 2015-08-26T03:47:00

Great job on finishing your first LD! Like how the monster grows very subtly as you eat more!

One of Us by Sicilica 2015-08-26T03:20:00

Wow this is a really weird and unique game. It mish-mashes a bunch of idea together, but sorta makes it work. The puzzles as others have said are a bit finicky and frustrating, but it's a nice mix of timing and platforming. If you can make the bouncing just a bit more consistent and the hitboxes just a tad more harsh it would go a long way towards making the game a bit easier for everyone. Still great job!

Mining Man Incorporated by smorris383 2015-08-26T04:24:00

Interesting use of the theme to make you the evil corporate tyrant. Wish there was more pressure from the outside to maximize and rush your workers. Good job!

The Last Demon by 9.ar7k 2015-08-24T04:44:00

The graphics are really great and it has a really cool theme with the enemies. The attacking is a bit clunky and I wish my own hitboxes were just a tad larger. Still an interesting game!

Desert Dinner by PushpinderSingh 2015-08-24T02:47:00

Interesting idea for using the sand to build new terrain to reroute paths. Felt a little too slow and I got a bit confused with controlling the worm in the y-axis though. Wish your guy could just move a little faster!

With a Monster Heart by RegisFrey 2015-08-27T05:32:00

Very cute! I can imagine the tapping would work a bit better on a mobile screen, but very interesting mechanic between balancing finding move and preventing yourself from becoming a monster. Would love to see a bit more variety in different tap mini-games. Great job!

SPAGHETTI JOURNEY by d_pendikov 2015-08-25T05:16:00

Woah, the tunnel effect is really trippy. The audio seems a bit too high on my headphones, the chirping hurts a bit. Clever use of the theme with the FSM and some weird coolness going on!

Monstre de Coiffure by Patacorow 2015-08-25T05:23:00

Oh my goodness this is amazing. The little details with the eye curls and the different hair on the two-headed monster really sells the game. Great job!

We Missed You! by RHY3756547 2015-08-25T05:36:00

Woah this is a pretty awesome premise and clever use of the theme. Very stylish and a lot of fun variety with the different missions and setups on the map. Great job!

Hero's Quest by GFM 2015-08-25T03:24:00

Very nice! The graphics are very nice and polished and I like the slight twist with "good" end. It's a little hard with the knife's reach being so short, wished it was just a tad longer! Great job still!

City Smash! by daydalus 2015-08-26T03:50:00

Ha, there's a lot to like here! It feels metal/hardcore and while it's not polished there's a great sense of motion and weight with your attacks. Good job!

Motherflipin' T-Rex! by mantis 2015-08-25T06:40:00

Fun times stomping around. Graphics have a charming blockiness. Controls are nice and smooth, wish the roar would have regenerated a bit faster. Sounds are super harsh, wish they were more organic/natural. Still good job!

Very nice WarioWare-inspired game. The art fits the goofiness of the setup really nicely. Just wish the bug squashing game was a little easier! >_< Great job still!

Really enjoyed this, sorta like a bird-bullying simulator. It makes me feel bad when a bird starts crying. One minor complaint is that the bars are sometimes misleading and you can suck energy even when it appears empty. Great job!

Really awesome and clever. There's a lot of interesting puzzles coming out of the simple mechanic and it was really rewarding figuring that stuff out. I think my only complaint is the last boss is a bit frustrating with the single shot/recharge. Great stuff!
