LD30 — Connected Worlds

Beacon by ken 2014-08-25T19:42:00

Haha thank you. Navigating the dark world was one problem I was struggling with in the end. There is a sound if you hit a wall and you can hear your footsteps to tell if you are walking or just stuck on a wall, but even though I tried to simplify the dark world level and I know the layout it's still really hard even for me to navigate, so I should have thought of more effective feedback to give. I still like the idea of being blind and navigating this other world, but it didn't turn out as playable as I had imagined in my head.

LD31 — Entire Game on One Screen

The game has a cool story and nice visuals however it can require a lot of patience. I restarted the game 2 times because I didn't want to backtrack as I knew it would be faster to restart. Even though the maze can be navigated pretty fast(before the dialogue finishes) the vehicle moves really slow and it takes a long time to go through the maze, especially if you take an incorrect path because the incorrect paths can be quite long.

Arena of Cube by maxyan 2014-12-08T08:26:00

There is a lot of detail and care in this game! This game is really great for within 48 hours. Only comment is that it sometimes felt like some of my bullets would just pass right through the enemies. Other than that it was really fun (and super crazy at the end with the arena just filled with enemies and bullets)

It felt rewarding when I completed the game however it was a grind getting to the end. At the end it said I took 10313 turns, which isn't actually that many because I could speed down hallways, but since it was exploring probably over 100 rooms, most of them empty or with a bat it got a bit tedious. If I had found the flashlight first I think I would have had a better time because exploring each room wouldn't have taken so long. It was fun when I fought Grumpus and found items like the shield but the majority of the time I was just walking down empty hallways. If there was more in the world I would have enjoyed it much more.

Strikethrough by Ian Morrison 2014-12-08T06:39:00

Really impressive game! Only input from me would be that it would have been nice to include the menu in the same area as the battling takes place, just to include the theme into it just that much more.

Snowman Battles | Online Multiplayer Game by tatelax 2014-12-12T23:53:00

No one was online so I had to open up 2 instances of the game. It's cool that you were able to make a multiplayer game but I had to play it with myself so I didn't get the whole experience. The graphics where pretty good but the controls were a bit strange as moving in different directions went at different speeds and the WASD keys moved you at diagonals instead of straight up and down or left and right. The crates took awhile to spawn in so there would be a lot of waiting and there isn't much to do in between collecting the crates besides sending people back to their spawn by hitting them with a hammer. Also I didn't understand you had to hit the person 5 times with the hammer to make them respawn until I tried it a bunch of times. It's impressive technically but unfortunately because of the lack of people playing and the slow gameplay it wasn't too fun to play in it's current state.

LD33 — You are the Monster

Make Your Time by ken 2015-08-24T03:07:00

@notajetski The purple stuff is mana. It currently has no purpose in the game besides adding to the final score but it was originally going to be a resource to use spells in the final battle. I had to cut the final battle due to time constraints though.

Make Your Time by ken 2015-08-24T03:11:00

@chunkybrewster I agree the battle in the end should have been an actual battle! That was the original idea but about halfway through I had to decide to focus on either the battle part or the sabotaging the hero while you watch him adventure part. I thought the latter was more interesting and new so I decided to go with that.

RODENT by notajetski 2015-08-24T03:21:00

The humor in this game is great! Also it's super simple and fun.

I also had the issue with enemies going off the screen. Maybe instead of running in the opposite direction from the bunny off the screen they could run the opposite direction up until the edge of the screen, but if that's too close they could run past the bunny to the other side of the screen.

The Werewolf Can Always Lie by Laddo D 2015-08-24T04:01:00

Survived 18 nights! I got confused at first because the text box covered over their name because they were all at the bottom for me, so I thought what the person was saying was actual just their name and if they were the werewolf or not. The only issue I had was that the text boxes covered over the names and other text boxes. Other than that it was very fun!

The Monster Within by Cheetoturkey 2015-08-24T07:14:00

Great music and I love the aesthetic! I couldn't get past the second house though. The first time I got trapped behind the red and white box on the left and the second time I couldn't get past the red and white box on the right so I couldn't get to the last person to exit the house.

The Stowaway by BuffaloPhil 2015-08-24T03:04:00

Amazing Job! There is a lot of polish on this game. You did some nice shader work that made this game have a really unique look, The ambient music was nice, and it was really fun to play! Especially as you grew bigger.
I had to start over a couple times before I was able to beat it. The game isn't too long so it's not that bad but going through the beginning each time was a bit slow. Maybe having checkpoints could help with that? Also I encountered a bug where one of the crew members was firing through a wall (I could only see the laser shining through the wall) and I wasn't sure what was happening so I went up to the wall and I died.
Other than that it was very impressive and I really enjoyed it!
