Interesting spin on the theme. I was able to complete the game. Got stuck on the leaking coolant but figured it out in the end. Nice game

keckles 2017-08-01 18:11

Great game i loved it my only note is it seemed the railings had no colliders which kinda bugged me (and it was kinda laggy but i blame my slow computer for that) but other than that great graphics and overall really good

sgt3v 2017-08-01 18:21

Very good adventure game, graphics are also very nice. There was some flickering texture, flat stair rails but the rest is all good. It would be better to use mouse click or E key to collect and place items i guess reaching ctrl was a bit weird :D

gimitius 2017-08-01 18:25

Great game! Even though it was quite short and the puzzles were quite simple i still liked it.

boxfort 2017-08-01 18:45

I like this, its like one of those old escape the room flash games. The models and sound are nice, however i wish there were more puzzles and the game was a bit longer!

archimagus 2017-08-01 19:06

@sgt3v mouse click does collect items.

pixelformedstudios 2017-08-02 16:34

Loved the style and the concept. The puzzle was not too difficult but very fun to work out and solve. Great job!

zgragselus 2017-08-04 04:56

I like the entry, the gameplay looks quite polished. Yes, it all happens in one room and is quite short.

What would I improve? I would definitely give the game better lighting and textures, it is missing them - and with few effects it could actually look very very good. I'd allow user to pick just one item at time only and keep it in hand - could be a bit more immersive (e.g. do it in Half Life 2/Portal style).

Also the music didn't seem to fit the game (at least for me, yet this tends to be quite subjective).

obidubi 2017-08-04 06:25

Nice game! The scenario was interesting and the little puzzle and stuff to collect was well done. The graphics were nice and I found the audio fitting for your game. My suggestions would be to add more to your game like stuff breaking over time or more puzzles to solve to make it more interesting and last a little bit longer. Overall, nice job!

alext-design 2017-08-04 06:27

Thanks, Zgragselus! I'm still trying to get used to texturing. I kept using 'shiny' base materials, but discovered far too late that these shiny materials are only that way because they're very dark and hard to see.

juan 2017-08-04 10:47

@alext-design : remember that your materials will never look right without a proper ligting setup, the one you used make the whole level feel a bit flat imo. I'm used to make the all scene with a sort or tinted white color when i am making it : it allows you to focus on lighting. Actually, if the scene doesn't look right in plain white, there a lot of chance it will do the same with textures and materials. And don't hesitate to tint your light colors: we rarely use pure white lamps in our house, but rather softly orange or blue light ==> white lamps are boring ^ ^

(In 3d rendering, it's called a clay render, like this one: https://evermotion.org/files/EVRprfolio/b974b7338e5d3ed5471fb8d82a29c486705305af.jpg )

Otherwise, it's working pretty good, it's quite easy to figure out what to do, even if some interraction aren't really clear on the graphic side (what can I / can't interact with? It's not always easy to figure it out, you have to click a bit randomly...)

archimagus 2017-08-04 13:35

@juan Thank you for the great feedback. You are absolutely right on the lighting. (I did the level design.)

cenullum 2017-08-06 06:32

Excellent! did you have time to 3d modelling ? I don't like puzzle games much but it wasn't boring 5/5

sarrixx 2017-08-06 11:25

Not a bad little game, got stumped on the code for a bit (was thinking it had something to do with 1,6,8,9 :P) but then I looked up at the wall and I felt so stupid haha :P Nice work!

rijnswand 2017-08-06 17:25

Awesome puzzle game! I usually don't do that well in this kind of games, but this one was easy enough for me, I would have loved to play it for more time. The lighting could use some work, like @juan said, but other than that, it's a pretty great entry!

kubenexion 2017-08-07 11:58

I've finish just in time!

Great game with nice graphics and good puzzle.

mars 2017-08-08 13:23

Great game, I love puzzle games! The puzzle wasn't too difficult, but it wasn't 100% straightforward either so it did take me around 2 minutes to figure it. I loved the hint for the password, nice little bit of humor there.

The graphics were pretty decent, quite the detailed 3D environment. The music was a nice addition to make sure the game didn't feel too empty. Overall the audiovisual experience was pretty good, I generally like the mood of spacey themed games.

Well done, good entry!

bemmu 2017-08-08 13:24

This felt like a part of a complete, proper game. Polish it a bit more, do another jam to create more levels a few times and you have a Steam game :) I enjoyed the puzzle, which felt smooth to complete.

tomahawk2001913 2017-08-08 15:21

I wanted it to go on longer!

saramartins 2017-08-09 04:34

Really nice game, great environment, good puzzles and not too difficult. It was really enjoyable. I only missed an indicator of when the mouse was interacting with stuff or unable to. The mouse was always the same colour and gave no feedback, so I didn't even notice when I turned off the purple stream, just saw it later and it must have been when I was clicking around. Other than that, great job!

yuigoto 2017-08-09 07:12

Nice take on the theme! Though I wish it was a bit longer! :(

The game looks pretty good and well polished, since you made some custom menus and other small details (no Unity launcher, hey!). ;) Good work on the graphics, audio and level design, it was really fun to play it! :D Really nice mood for the game too, and controls felt really nice to play! :)

Congrats, and Good Luck! :)

alext-design 2017-08-09 20:54

Thank you so much for all the wonderful comments, everyone!

@cenullum I modeled everything in Maya, basically using primitives and the Extrude tool. I made all of the placeholder/dummy models on that Friday, then spent the rest of the time working on the detailed/updated versions. Managed to complete all of them in detailed versions, but not everything was used in the submission.

2017-08-12 01:37

This was nice. It reminds me a lot of playing retro point n click adventures like Space Quest. Though yours had better logic in all the pieces you would need to find. The whole thing took me less than a minute the first time to blast through the first time. I really enjoyed it.

I feel like this could make a great adventure game where you have to fix various machines, facilities, etc as a Nuclear Engineer or maybe a mad scientist's Janitor or something similar.

Otherwise nice work. I thought this was good. The graphics all fit together well. Good sounds. Logic for the puzzle pieces.

@larrychupacabra Wow, thanks for the playthrough and great review.

pickens-inc 2017-08-21 15:38

A solid entry! I liked the music, very FTL, and the puzizle was just tricky enough to take time. Kind of busywork rather than fun, but that might just be because it's not quite my style. The models were good ant the reactor itself looks really cool. Nicely done!
