@Rayne How the hell did you play my entire game so fast? It takes me at least a good 5 minutes to beat my game, but you had a reply in 5 seconds. Just out of curiosity did the audio work on windows?
Just note to me: when on pc ,play it
Interesting game! I could not figure out how to beat it, but made it across some sweet jumps. The first time I opened it (on windows) the sounds did not load, so I tried again and it worked. I liked the instructor, helped add to the mood. I wish it would lock the camera when moving, use mouse to look around when you want to (on a different key maybe). I also liked the graphics!
Overall nice entry
good retro graphics, but car controls are not convenient
Heads up mate, your Linux build doesn't have public permissions in Google Drive. :/
@Thygrrr Linux build should be fixed!
First off this was super cool I loved the voice over and the doom style graphics. But the car rotation was to fast and the mouse sensitivity was WAY to slow. If those things were fixed this game would be a million times better perhaps even be one of the better games this ludum dare. super cool over all though I really cant get over the voiceover it was supper funny. I'd love it if you could check out my game as well. If your feeling up to it heres the link: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/yum-some
@frostByte4k You can change the mouse sensitivity in the config file.
oh cool thanks
The humour is what carries this game. There are some needed visual tweaks and it could do with music. I also feel the genre of platformer didn't quite make it into the game but with that said, it was an overall enjoyable experience and one of the few games I finished (albeit, with some encouragement from the developer).
I love the visual style of this (and your previous LD entry). I did find the controls a little frustrating at first until adjusting the mouse sensitivity. Still need to play around with it some more to get it to a sweet spot for me. The separation of rotating the view from turning the car to having to manually do it with the mouse, and having it 360 degrees at times left me confused with the direction I was actually moving, but overall we were able to finish it on stream.
I liked to look of this game, it had a very grungy atmosphere that worked really well. The sense of speed was carried across by the audio quite well, but I feel it could have had slightler more audio and sound effects, especially given the text to speech was hard to understand at some times. The car controls worked, but felt slightly slippery. I did enjoy the whole ordeal of starting the car and changing between forward and reverse through q f and r, it made it feel slightly more like a full rally game. The platformer section didn't come across very well, and I did notice that due to the car's design, the platformer sections were really hard, as they were almost all blind leaps of faith. I feel that the balance between the genres could have been improved. Overall however this was enjoyable, I liked the mood and the visual style, as well as the core gameplay mechanics. Solid work.
Tricky to play but nice idea with great atmosphere and audio. Writing made me laugh while playing too. Great work!
Nice Game kinda confusing and controlls very weird but hey next time will be better
Your games always have a distinct look to them, I'm keen to see how this graphic style evolves along with your engine, nice work! On that note, massive props for using your own engine. The game itself I think could have had the camera locked around the yaw axis and only have the player pitch the camera up and down, maybe not, perhaps I am missing some reason for the camera controls being like they are. That aside, the best part of the game for me was sliding all over the place and drifting the car sideways up the top of the sloped walls, this felt bad-ass.
Props for building your own engine! Pretty cool atmosphere, I didn't uderstand everything the dude was saying, but he didn't sound very polite.
Nice entry! But I wasn't sure what to do or which genres were you combining. Cool experimental graphics. Felt like some kind of "Quarentine" in ps1.
Haha hilarious narration :P Not sure what the combination of genres is, but it was a cool little experience!
