@shenawy thanks a lot for your feedback . You guys are right , I should have increased the speed of the character and the enemies more to make it more challenging or like you said increase the speed gradually but sadly I didn't have enough time to play test the game enough . T
@custardcosmos I am glad you liked the game and I appreciate your feedback . I think It is my fault that I didn't differentiate enough between the 2 types of dashes in the game . The first dash type is the one when you press the right click button and this is considered a melee attack that can steal a weapon from an enemy . The second type of dash is the one when you press the Space bar and this is a normal fast dash to avoid damage . Sadly , I didn't want the player to keep stealing weapons when he/she already has one and only allowed the player to space bar dash to avoid damage . But I think you are right and I should have let the player have the ability to melee attack while he/she has a weapon .
Beautiful , simple and fun , Great job
clever gameplay idea , great job :D
A fun and great looking game , good job
@boltkey I am not sure why are you so hateful or why are you throwing threats at me but ok let's respond to each and every point: 1- I had to make the start and restart times long because I wanted to give time for the first wave of hole to be properly procedurally generated and this was the only option I had due to my limited free time during the jam . The same goes for the fake loading screens (I didn't have enough time to think about and idea to hide the loading screens ) . The death animation was a bit long I agree .
2- Now for your "much bigger" problem . You are totally correct that this game was initially made for brackeys game jam 2020.1 . However , I didn't just took the game and submitted it to ludum dare . My submission to the brackeyes game jam had some big issue which was : The map was finite and what I mean by this is that I wasn't generating holes during the game , I just instantly generated some holes at the start of the game and that's it . So I had to but borders around the map in order to prevent the player from getting out . I also didn't have loading screens because I was instantly generating hole at the start of the game and this method was prone for a lot of errors so I had to change it to a much safer but slower method . And about the finite map , I made it infinite this time so the player can move wherever they want and the holes will keep generating (and destroyed) efficiently . And if you want a proof for this , check out the only comment on my game page which was talking about my "limited playground" Capture5.PNG
3- Now if we check the rules of the ludum dare jam here Capture4.PNG it says that I can use "any" base-code I have . So , I am not breaking any rules of the jam and this is definitely not against the jam spirit since I worked hard during the little time I had in the jam to improve my very simple and "somewhat broken" game I had before .
Finally , I really don't think that commenting so hatefully and aggressively is going to help anyone.
@lone-wolf I totally understand what you are saying . However , I couldn't find any specifications for what a base-code should be like on the ludum dare site . Secondly , my game isn't by any means a AAA game or even a complex game to make . It's a very very simple game with primitive shapes that most people here can make in under 72 hours and other people already made games that are way more complex than mine during the jam , so it is not an unfair advantage when you think about it
@boltkey it is fair in ludum dare's eyes because of the any base-code rule . Plus , I said this sentence because I said that my game is very very simple compared to some other more complex games of the jam which have complete systems already built in place.
@boltkey Man man man , I totally understand what your coming from but the phrase ( any base-code ) is a very vague one and there were no details for what a base code should be like . And again , I totally get that you are mad . While your way of expressing your anger is a little bit inappropriate , you make it seem like I committed a major crime and that I should be executed for it . This is a game jam where the point is to have fun and get some feedback from other people on your game . There are no awards or prizes at the end of the jam . Just chill out, have some fun and be more positive . Have a nice weekend
@birdwards Thanks a lot for your comment . I really didn't intend on hurting other games with my submission . I only submitted this game to ludum dare because I just wanted to get some feedback on the game itself before releasing it on mobile devices and figured that getting the feedback from the ludum dare community was the best idea because the ludum dare community is a huge and supportive community
The game is really cool , great job
A very relaxing and amazing puzzle game , Geart job
