Thanks Zesix for the comment (and also everyone else you seriously don't know how much it means to me that people like my game and it's story especially since my writing is something I've never really shared) but to answer your question, the story wasn't inspired by a real life event, but the idea of the story showing how much parents give for their children was definitely inspired by my parents who give so much of themselves to raise and support their children.
