Love this neon style.

Not bad! I like the neon style and the animation when the new terrain generates! It reminds me of the subnautica scanning animation.

13:08.518 minutes! (Terrible I know) What a crazy game! I didn't expect any of these games to have movement that was fun! Good movement in jam games is such a rarity, and the movement in this game surpassed many $60 titles I've seen. I had a lot of fun playing this, the force gun was an absolute blast to use. Flying around the ever changing world was such a nice change of pace compared to the boatload of platformers in the rest of the jam. Out of all the other vapor wave retro style games, this one's art fits it the best. It really has the arcade feel, which is always a great thing to have. I was motivated to get a better score, and keep running back through it. One last thing. If you wanted to push the sense of progression even further, you could start the player out with only being able to walk around, and they have to make it across some beams and collect a jump power-up which would unlock the jumping, if you really wanted to start from nothing then taking away the jump in a parkour game would've been a neat way of doing it lol. Amazing game! Great job!

Wow, I really loved this game! The gameplay was incredibly enjoyable, and I was extremely immersed in the world you created. The graphics looked great, and the audio came together to form a really exciting atmosphere. The ending was perfect, and I really enjoyed it through and through! The only thing that took me slightly out of the experience was the fact that you can just push yourself against a wall and use the force gun to propel yourself upwards, so it took away a little bit of the fun of planning out each jump perfectly. But other than that, incredible job!

So cool! I loved seeing the level keep expanding and the level design is great! I'm not usually a big fan of platformers, but this one kept me hooked!

aevek 2019-10-09 21:18

I really enjoyed this, but I might be biased towards first person platforming games this time around lol. The rocketboots + 'force gun' combo was really fun to play with once I got the hang of it. Very impressed at whoever got that 5 minute time. It took me 15 minutes but at least 5 of those were just experimenting with the traversal once I had all the powers.

Great entry! It kept on expanding the level a lot longer than what I expected, really interesting level design twist.

I liked the rocket boost, how it didn’t fully recharge when landing on the ground so it's a little tactical to decide when to max it out. The beam felt good to use, but a little weird to look down, and I think it might be too powerful, maybe one use until you land, or give it a bar like the hover ability.

One thing with power ups is that if most games have them as default they don’t feel like a power up, so I would suggest that you start the game with higher movement speed and gain a run ability instead. Also would be nice if it was possible to take the checkpoints in the air.

The level felt very open from the middle to the end, but I think it could be more open in the first part of the game as well. I also think the level needs some set pieces for easy reference, only just 3-4 would be enough. One idea could also be to show the next part of the level as transparent, or show some hints on what’s coming.

Would play this as a full game :)

That was a pretty enjoyable game. Has a nice theme to it, and the controls felt good to play. The animations were nice as well.

neonlare 2019-10-11 21:52

I wish I could play this properly, it plays at a low framerate on my machine, which means Jump heights inconsistent sadly. Looks radical though!

honey-pony 2019-10-11 21:53

This is without a doubt my favorite entry of this Ludum Dare. Although, I am a sucker for games that remind me of Marble Blast Ultra and this fulfills that category pretty perfectly.

But really, I loved the way all the different mechanics combined. I thought it was great that when you were jetpacking and falling, you could bounce off a platform to regain some height. I thought that awesome amounts of height you could get at the end by synchronizing your force gun and jump/jetpack were super fun and really made you feel how far you progressed.

I also like the fact that the game isn't really punishing for you falling off. It hurts your time, sure, but that doesn't matter for the first time you play through. This makes it perfect for a jam as it isn't a pain to play through the whole thing for rating it, and it's a pretty legitimate choice for platformer games in general (again, very reminiscent of Marble Blast, although I don't know if that's intentional...)

I think this game would be very interesting if running it for time. The way that the jetpack has to managed as a tradeoff between waiting for the bar to fill and just going for a jump would add to that.

My time was something above 15 minutes. I didn't write down the exact number.

So yeah, love the graphics, love the choice of music, love the gameplay. Definitely my favorite game in the jam.

ryano 2019-10-11 22:10

Really great game. I played all the way through (12:07) which is a long time to hold my attention haha. Really nice level design with the verticality. Controls felt great. Thanks for the fun.

kleinzach 2019-10-11 22:15

I got a time of ~8-9 minutes. Very enjoyable. The movement felt really good, though perhaps a little faster movement would be appreciated (Maybe bunny hopping or something). The rocket jump with the hover felt great. I would say that the weakest point would be the level design since it was just limited to static cubes which got a little repetitive by the end where you would just go across the level again and again, but regardless it was very fun. Great job!

toxiccomputer 2019-10-11 22:19

I loved the graphics and art style. Great job! :)

qristjan 2019-10-11 22:21

Very awesome and addicting :D Everything was great, music, graphics, gameplay... :D It made me remember about cs 1.6 bunnyhops maps.

fear-games 2019-10-11 23:35

Good looking game. Wish there was a bit of variance of obstacles other than just a cube but understandable given the time constraints

kanonix 2019-10-12 07:38

Nice work and cool idea :) It's a great game for achievers players. You can be proud ! :)

bauke-regnerus 2019-10-12 17:13

I'm not a huge fan of 3D platforming, but this jam entry is executed really well. I like the abstract graphics, although there could be more contrast between the colours.

smileyface 2019-10-13 10:52

I absolutely loved this game. The control were felt tight, the platforming was challenging and the game looked excellent. Really just a top notch entry all around. One thing I will say is that maybe the game didnt need to be as long as it did. I think cutting a few of the levels from the game would have helped with pacing. Regardless excellent entry.

siimer 2019-10-13 21:26

I really like this game. The graphics and music are great and the movement is crisp. It was so fun that I retried it 3 times just to get a better time. My final time was 07:28.
