Game crashed when launching it, kind of stayed on a grey screen with the music then it closed.

nanocube75 2019-10-08 06:13

@aaranos are you on mac or linux? if so that's probably why, but if you're on windows I'm not exactly sure then, sorry.

bip 2019-10-08 06:58

I can't open the file ;(

creepyounguy 2019-10-08 07:12

The default windows unzipping program cant unzip the file on your itch for some reason and says it is invalid. I unzipped it with 7zip and it worked fine. Edit: Just played it. Really solid character controller, and actually really good level design, I was able to kite around it very well. Good experience

matharoo 2019-10-08 07:13

Like the idea, and love how surreal it is. Of course, cheesy as expected from a jam game, so well done.

jeremia 2019-10-08 07:20

@bip for me, windows explorer could not open the file but 7zip could.

drjeebus 2019-10-08 07:22

Says .zip is empty for me

jake-marks 2019-10-08 07:35

Would have loved a "walkie-talkie" style filter over your voice lines. Just to make it even more cliche, haha! Interesting enemy designs.

jeremia 2019-10-08 07:37

Cool game, the one problem that I had was, that I could barely understand the voice. And having to shoot enemies (pretty loud) while he talks does not make this better.

vovin 2019-10-08 07:43

Very atmospheric. Spawning enemies when picking up audio logs makes it hard to listen to them.

Please don't name your rar archives .zip. I don't think reuploading a fixed archive would be against jam rules?

jake-bekker 2019-10-08 07:50

@matharoo Thank you! We had a ball playing with the vibes of the game. So niche. @jake-marks We actually tired it! It was hilarious, but we found it was more surreal without it. I also wouldn't dare degrade Ben's British accent.

We also have updated the dodgy .zip to one that windows explorer can Extract, so people without Winrar or 7Zip should be able to play the game now!

dinorex 2019-10-08 07:56

Nice shooting mechanic and control. Monsters looking good) But i'm not an english fluent speaker, that's why I didn't fully understand the plot. Anyway, good job! It's was fun)

jake-bekker 2019-10-08 08:15

Thanks for the feedback! If we take this game further we will tweak the audio levels

tory 2019-10-08 08:17

Very strange survivor with boryotany protagonist in the background) But overall not bad)

nanocube75 2019-10-08 09:12

@dinorex Thanks for playing! Glad you enjoyed :D

sir-galloy-de-fierpate 2019-10-08 12:10

I Love how ennemies dies ! Love the concept of the city destroyed with floting buildings, but i think the graphism or the light management can be inprove to make a real atmosphere. I think the sounds can be a bit better, like on the menu, but DO NOT change the ennemies. Perfect sound when they die, love their color code and design, and again, what a funny way to make them disappear. Pop ! No ennemy anymore ! Lost in the void, eaten by a black hole.

nanocube75 2019-10-08 13:17

@sir-galloy-de-fierpate Thanks for the feedback! Happy to hear you liked the enemies :D

designernap 2019-10-08 14:43

NOOOO!!!! This was great! A ton of heart in this one... but my NOOOO is because the last audio log I collected cut off and the game ended! Never got to hear what the emergency message was! Nice entry :D

jake-bekker 2019-10-09 02:39

@designernap NOOOOOO!!! That's terrible! The win condition may have triggered to early, But hey! Thanks so much for your comment though! Glad you enjoyed the game :)

bredera 2019-10-09 13:56

Nice entry, loved the graphic style and the enemy designs! great entry overall!

nanocube75 2019-10-09 14:57

@bredera Thank you so much! :)

theufo 2019-10-09 16:03

Game style is beautiful. But because of gun shot soungs it is hard to hear Samuel's voice. Enemy's models are also very creative. Nice game!

plepletier 2019-10-09 16:07

Great game!!!! I love the atmosphere and art style of the game. he narration was great! I missed a caption. In the action I lost some of the narration's attention. Good job!

sirred 2019-10-10 00:32

Amazing atmosphere. The voice over really sells the land and how it came to be this way. A crosshair would have been nice and the audio on the shots made it hard to hear the voice over sometimes. Good job.

ketura 2019-10-11 22:33

Frankly I actually quite like the low-poly style. With some better animations, it could almost stand on its own. I feel like the combat was more or less a chore here; sit around a corner and snipe/stunlock everyone until you could get to the next recording. I did greatly appreciate the particle effect that leads you to the next one once you've killed everything, tho, that is a great touch.

jake-bekker 2019-10-15 02:03

Thanks so much for the feedback guys! You are legends. Loving your games too!

xotsu 2019-10-15 09:22

Amazing visuals running animation questionable but fun nonetheless

nanocube75 2019-10-15 11:36

@xotsu Thanks for trying it out!

jamioflan 2019-10-15 12:41

I couldn't work out what they were meant to be, but the blobby enemies were very amusing. It would be great to turn down the gun and enemy sound effects a bit to be able to better hear the voiceover

jk5000 2019-10-15 12:59

The game idea was good, and I did like both the story and the games atmosphere. The voice acting is okay, but it often hard to hear what the person says. Overall a okay jam game.

gehad 2019-10-15 13:01

really nice game , great job

johnny-rainbow 2019-10-15 14:15

atmoshpere is good. could not really figure out what to do.

wolfens 2019-10-15 15:00

Love that game, great job guys :)

It's a little bit difficult to understand what does the character said, but it's quite cool :)

asimov 2019-10-15 18:53

felt pretty uncomfortable playing it... but in a good way. except the headache i got that was weird. All in all it is a solid entry.

brokenmirrormedia 2019-10-19 08:06

The visual style here is interesting, I normally like low poly stuff, but I think the enemies needed to stand out more from the background, perhaps a more red tone? The audio logs were fantastic and built an interesting world, I just wish I could have heard more of them over the gunfire and enemies. Nice work!
