A real effort for storytelling, it gives a real background to the game, which is appreciable (and rare in compo !) I really liked the musics, especially during the intro that sync with the cutscene. Gameplay side, enough mechanics for a nice little game, the holes are quite punitive, which raise a little bit the requirement before the last fight. Nice entry bro' !
Nice game and very good level design!
Very good game, I liked the zelda-esque feel but it also had platforming elements which don't see very often in Top-Down 2D games. Good job

Nice variations in the gameplay and the leveldesign was well thought out. There were some spelling errors i noticed but nothing that really impacted the game overall.
Nice game, has a intro witch is nice, and cool mechanic with the dashes. Unfortunately i'm really bad at platforming haha. Nice job

The controls, movement, combat all felt really really good. You did a great job with this. Might I suggest using a camera slightly more zoomed in and eliminate some of the black space. Might give the game a different feel.
Also noticed a bug with the four square fall through tiles, if you stand directly in the center, nothing falls.

Good opening which sets the story nicely. I wish I was able to finish the game, but I didn't manage to beat the level with plenty of dashes and falling tiles. It might have to do with the fact that movement is controlled with WASD and my left hand isn't used to this much platforming :) The difficulty increased a bit too suddenly after a few introductory levels.

I wasn't a fan of the precision dashing particularly in the later levels, but otherwise it's a really neat entry. Good job!

The story is so emotional, I really liked it. It's fun to play and the music adds much to the mood.
Haha, got stuck in the dash room when I suddenly managed to dash out of bounds and walk around the map to the end and enter the next room! I laughed out loud. :D
Well done!
The dash room was my limit ! Tried several times but couldn't manage.

@vinnienovido Ah ah well done, I love the idea to have some available speedrun technics like out of bounds in my game x)
I liked the game. Especially the jumping session at the end. I was really challenging for me. I also like a lot the dash animation. It felt great.
Great experience! The combat was very fun (I adored the way the sword works) and it had some though platforming/dashing sections. Sometimes the big black box on the top of the screen made it hard to see the character and the levels :( The story was heartwarming, well done.
The cutscenes were definitely the most striking part of the game, and I like the way that the game ties in to the story. It reminds me of [Soom](http://www.pixellovegames.com/games/soom/?game=soom), in terms of the premise. That being said, I found the gameplay to be on the frustrating side, particularly with the dash mechanic. The second to last stage especially proved itself to be quite the hassle, as it felt as though the space bar wouldn't respond at the times when I actually pressed it (although the space in which you have to move while dashing proves this to be hard to tell). Maybe it was because I wasn't used to using my left hand on WASD to move, and I ended up crossing my hands over each other so I could control my character's movement with my dominant hand. :joy: But overall, I did think these two mechanics worked pretty well in conjunction with each other, and the simplicity of the aesthetic seemed to work for the portrayal of this mysterious "caught-in-the-afterlife-but-not-quite" kind of setting.
The part that also stood out to me a lot was that the main character has a strong resemblance to my irl appearance. I found that coincidence to be funny. :joy: I don't know if I relate to the character a whole lot, though, have to think more on that.
Dashing through pits turns out to be a challenge for me :) I really liked combat in this game. Waving your sword felt nice and smooth. Would be cool to have more control after narrative text during cutscenes. I mean - switch it with key or smth. So you can skip it or on the contrary - read more closely. The whole game feels warm and cute. Good job!

I like this game. Theme is good, and every aspect of this game is very solid. Except one - a jumps. Damn. That 1x1 platforms required me to try 40 times to try! That's very hard!
I like the storytelling part and the choice in favor of minimalism in style. Well chosen music and sounds. But jumping almost drove me crazy x) It would be great if jump didn't wasn't tie with direction buttons (so that the jump was just in direction which you have already turned). But beyond that it's a nice entry.

I liked the art. The enemies at the beginning seem to have a lot of health and deal a bit too much damage. It's not hard enough to encourage trying again and not easy enough to encourage progression. I would try tuning things to where its a challenge but fun. A lot was done during the 48 hours and I can see that as I have done 3 compos in the past. A lot of hard work was put into this and all in all I think its a good submission.

Well, learning that when you have nothing left, there is still some kind of force that force you to fight and carry on, its beatifull. I was thinking... What is the symbolism of the sword? Is it something that Evelyne carried whit her, due her will of being a great warrior? Or maybe a force from somewhere out, someone that is trying to help her? Well, thats a good game. Awesome job!

Really fun! Got some Undertale vibes. Loved the intro artstyle, solid music and gameplay mechanics. I wished the scrolling text was a little faster.

Love how you packed story into small game. Also level with multiple dashings was pretty stubborn!

Really great game, you managed to pack a story into it which really added to the atmosphere. The art style was interesting, the movement was fluid, and the dashing was fun. All and all, really great project.

This is a solid game. The level where you have to dash over a bunch of holes was frustrating, but I enjoyed it overall.
Nice cutscenes at the beginning. Had trouble dashing but great game /story nonetheless.

Dashing feels really good. The second to last room was really unforgiving, but worked me up a great sweat! Loved the cut scenes; really morbid but was so effective at setting the mood.
Things I didn't like: * If I restarted the game when some message was still being typed, both would get typed resulting in a strange gibberish haha
gibberish.png
Things I liked: * The dash animation is very smooth! I felt like a ninja * Nice mood, the graphics reminded me of old game boy games, oh the nostalgia. * The instant restart pressing R is very nice, especially on a game where you can die easilly. * The narrative added an interesting depth to the game. * Smooth fighthing gameplay!
This was fun. The story with the cutscenes was really nice, music fit well and the combat felt good. I struggled with the dashing level, until I accidentally cheated .. dashed down tree times from the start, over the first two holes and straight through a wall, then tried to get back inside, but got moved to the next room when I got near the exit.

Was able to beat it! The narration was helpful in outlining the player's experience. Would be nice to see stronger tie in for what the enemies represent or where the player is. Keep up the good work!
So if Eveline had nothing before accident than she has less than nothing now.

The illustrations at the beginning are so good and the playing is so much fun! like it!
Liked the fighting mechanic, although I'm not usually a PC gamer so WASD is always a nightmare!

Fun game, nice story around the gameplay. The Platforming section kicked my butt though!
Great job! The story was a really nice addition to this game!

One of the most interesting games I've played so far. The story is touching and the narration great! I really enjoyed the gameplay too. Controls feel great and fighting was interesting. Good job!
Nice zelda like topdown action platformer!! Nice graphics and polished gameplay and a story too . As many pointed out the platorming section (the one with many dashes needed to complete the level and the disappearing tiles) was a little too difficult. Maybe tone down the difficulty of that part by reducing the dashes needed. Still a very nice entry!
