Movement a bit slow IMO, but the idea is good and core mechanics are fun and beautifully implemented! Nice work!
@t1a2z @nachtwitch Thank you for your kind comments guys , glad you liked the game
Great start with a game! I like the concept and I also agree with @t1a2z about the movement. The music and the feel of the game is fast-paced so a faster movement and reflexes would make it more exciting. I think to act as a tutorial, first wave starts with the current movement speed and then with each new wave the speed goes faster and faster to make it more challenging. kind of like in Tetris.
Good straightforward game! Yeah, I echo the point about the movement and the increasing speed of the enemies to make it more challenging. Really did like that there was more than one gun too. Perhaps being able to dash while having a weapon would have been cooler too?
Good game though! I had a good time playing~
@shenawy thanks a lot for your feedback . You guys are right , I should have increased the speed of the character and the enemies more to make it more challenging or like you said increase the speed gradually but sadly I didn't have enough time to play test the game enough . T
@custardcosmos I am glad you liked the game and I appreciate your feedback . I think It is my fault that I didn't differentiate enough between the 2 types of dashes in the game . The first dash type is the one when you press the right click button and this is considered a melee attack that can steal a weapon from an enemy . The second type of dash is the one when you press the Space bar and this is a normal fast dash to avoid damage . Sadly , I didn't want the player to keep stealing weapons when he/she already has one and only allowed the player to space bar dash to avoid damage . But I think you are right and I should have let the player have the ability to melee attack while he/she has a weapon .
Nice short game. I also think meele while you still have the gun should be allowed. Also i think twin stick controller support would be super cool for this game. Good work :)
@ausstein thanks for the feedback , you are totally correct , I should add twin stick controller support for this game .
thanks for all the positive comments guys
Cool little entry. The concept is solid! With more content this could really take off. I think my only nitpick is that the death particles looked like bullets, so it was confusing sometimes. Might have liked the option to drop my gun (was there one that I didn't know about?) The melee animation was pretty cool, it was satisfying to barrel into multiple enemies. Nice job, keep it up!
@wheffle Thanks for your feedback , I think yes I should have changed the color of the death particles to reduce confusion sorry for that
Cool game! I'd love to see how this would work for a multiplayer party game.
Good Game.. fun concept... great job..
I did rate it but I forgot to comment (so many games to play lol). I liked a lot the mechanic of getting a weapon. I won't lie, you inspired me with the concept to do something similar with better graphics/animations (imagine a lowpoly John Wick)! So the core game really works well.
I enjoyed playing it was fun good job
@wubbaduck @chaosround @blitzcloud @elbidev Thank you so much guys for your kind feedback
Interesting concept! Captured gun should have (way) less ammo, though -- it feels a bit too easy at start. Also, nitpicking -- gun sound / enemy hit is not satisfying enough.
I had fun playing this game. Interesting mechanics. Well done :)
Really cool game!
great idea for the game
The idea of having to steal the guns from your opponents is very clever, it adds originality to a classic genre. Good job!
I liked the concept too. with the "Start with Nothing" theme, using melee attack to steal an opponent's gun makes a lot of sense. The music was very high energy. The graphics were all placeholders, but with a stretch of imagination I could see this being a pretty fun little game. Nice entry into the game jam :)
Cool loop and mechanics! I think it could greatly benefit from more audio feedback, to know when you're out of ammo for example, as you're not really looking at your character!
Very fun nice original mechanics!
I liked the steal weapons mechanic. One idea to expand this gameplay loop would be to allow the collection of two guns with different fire styles and the ability to toggle between them to add more strategy to the action.
Ironically I loved the music, I think i used it for a top down shooter i made in the past. It fits that style of action well.
Nice! I really liked the concept of the game!
Interesting game! Makes you want to master it! :D
Nice mechanic this of stealing! Different type of enemies(maybe different size or more health) and weapons ( which for example shoot 3 bullets, circle of bullets..) would improve the gameplay a lot! But really good job!
@lonewolfdev yeah , I wanted to add a lot to this game but unfortunately I was not available most of the time during the jam
Very fun game, once you get the controls you can move around the bullets very easily. I would have like if the difficulty increases more, it can turn into a very difficult bullet hell.
It wasn't the most innovative use of the theme, but it works. And the game is really fun to play, so that is what matters. Great job!!!
really nice game
I learned from playing this that dashing into people to grab their weapons in a game adds a lot of immersion. And I love how that same dash can be helpful to dodge bullets. The music is great too, I'm surprised I can't rate it. The purple line really helps to know whether to dash into someone or not. Good game!

@lexyvil thank you for your kind feedback . The music we used was not our music so we had to opt out from the audio category
Lovely gameplay loop, the stealing was fun, reminded me of stickman arena-ish gameplay :) I'd play an extended version for sure!
I really enjoyed the game, I think with a little polish that this game would be huge! I think the movement of the crosshair has no reason to lag behind the mouse that much, and agree with some people here that the movement of the main character is a bit slow, but overall really good job.
More weapons please, more content please!
Thanks for all your nice feedback guys , I am willing to expand more on this game while taking all your advices into consideration and may be release it on steam
It surprisingly lagged a lot with its minimal graphics. But gameplay-wise it was fun to play. I really love how he spins when he melees them for their weapons.
One thing I'd wish for was an over-time health regeneration, as well as more weapons :3 But game enjoyed!
@itsdanidre thanks for your feedback and I am really sorry for your lagging experience . I didn't spend much time on optimization because the game didn't lag for me while play testing but I will certainly spend more time on optimization from now on
The game is simple but pretty addictive. Character movement is smooth and enjoyable. The only thing I missed is different enemies.
Nice concept! I included it in my Ludum Dare 45 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look :) https://youtu.be/zqhSjSyg75I
Fun little game which I can quite see being in an arcade machine or a mobile game! Mechanic and audio were so great the assets didn't need to be drawn out, if anything it helped to add to the arcade feel! Would loved to have seen some power ups throughout the game that enemies would drop, such as heath or extra bullets.
When I start the game and press continue, the instructions screen stays and the cursor creates a trail. Here's a screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/P8kVaPQ.png
@atomfox0213 that's weird , never seen that bug before . I will try to figure out what the problem is
Actually one of the most fun LDJAM games I've played! It's definitely rough around the edges visually, but the gameplay makes you feel pretty badass if you get into it. Kind of makes you feel like Neo from The Matrix or something. :sunglasses:
