LD45 — Start with nothing

SPEEDOSS by cax 2019-10-07T22:28:05Z

Now that's what I call racing!

When Nothing Came by velvetlobster 2019-10-09T10:26:01Z

Definitely a unique experience! I think one of the main reason this is appreciated by many is because it is quite personal as you mentioned in the description. The art and music fit very well and the black and white art, not sure if it was intentional or because of the time limit, was very effective in my opinion. Would love to play something bigger with the same theme talking about this emotion throughout stages of life.

House of Volans by benk 2019-10-09T11:10:10Z

Overall good game! Art style and first few line to join were interesting but I didn't get why he changed his mind so suddenly and decided to fight. Keefe's fight was difficult unless I'm missing something other than the sliding mechanic. His projectiles are way faster than anything I can pull off including slides. I think it's always better to give the player an edge. I couldn't win against him to see the final boss but oh well.

Blue Juice Dealer by Ryan Wine 2019-10-09T11:21:23Z

I always liked the crafting systems where you have to figure things out yourself, but with the cash limit, time limit and having to mix not 2 but 3 ingredients! this is just too much. I am giving my notes just because of how I like the concept and wish to have it improved to play it more.

- Start with either 2-ingredient potions and/or with a couple of ingredients available to get an idea of how to craft and what goes with what. - Some hints in the item description. - When you make more money you can purchase new ingredients to make more potions. Or can make the ingredients just show up. - A place/book/journal where you record successful potions, their effects and ingredients so that you can remake them again. - Add a lose state when you run out of money so that we don't have to relaunch the game.

I think I saw a game like this on steam a couple years back, but I'd definitely like to see of this style without the hand=holding in crafting.

Knights vs Hobos by Kenarf 2019-10-09T10:38:59Z

Cool and funny! Like others mentioned a way to receive some hp back would help a lot. Not sure if no loot is also part of the drop because one game I won 2 rounds and didn't receive any loot. I guess other hobos stole them before I could

The Reader's Encounter by xlomid 2019-10-11T13:25:40Z

Good intro a series of stories to come :D With 0some graphics accompanying this dark moody plot, it can definitely be a compelling miniseries. Congrats on the submission!

The Defective Detective by Polyethyleneglykol 2019-10-07T20:44:37Z

Great game considering the amount of time you had. I just wished for sound effects XD

Birb Life by buoygames 2019-10-09T10:32:18Z

Interesting concept but I hoped I could control the direction the bird is flying in. It seems it works only with clicks and in a single direction. Kind of unforgiving by throwing you into space after a single touch from the other bird and cat, which makes me think was the bar in top left corner a health bar or something else? because it doesn't deplete with hits and it's a one-hit-kill game. I think with more flexibility in controls to allow for avoiding objects it would go far more. :)

Gun Fury by Gehad 2019-10-09T10:08:01Z

Great start with a game! I like the concept and I also agree with @t1a2z about the movement. The music and the feel of the game is fast-paced so a faster movement and reflexes would make it more exciting. I think to act as a tutorial, first wave starts with the current movement speed and then with each new wave the speed goes faster and faster to make it more challenging. kind of like in Tetris.

@kanonix thanks a lot for the kind words! love to see your work too

@velvetlobster thanks for the tip! It seems the problem usually occurs either when advancing with mouse clicks instead of Space or when going backwards and forwards again in the dialogue. Still a mystery to me how to solve that unfortunately..

@jupiter-hadley wow! Thanks a lot and glad you liked it!!

Catch The Gold by alivojdanian 2019-10-11T13:00:19Z

Good job. Good start for a one-person project!

Without A Paddle by David U 2019-10-11T12:55:29Z

Cool game concept. Definitely can grow into something more.

LD47 — Stuck in a loop

Prayer Circle Peril by jimmothysanchez 2020-10-25T14:14:01Z

cool idea for a literal loop. I would've preferred the fires to be lit only when the cultists actually make it to it. because now all I did was move the circles very quickly around each pit and keep the cultists stuck behind a wall so they don't die

Gunguin by TinySalad 2020-10-26T07:53:28Z

cool little cute penguin game. would have preferred if the scrolling and movement/jumping speed was a bit slower to be able to react while running instead of having to stop for a moment to look around. It made it hard to be able to jump over spiders. I did win in the end.. or at least I think I did, because I got to the end screen but the penguin died anyway

Raccoon in a Loop by theufo 2020-10-06T09:15:51Z

Cool game! Like the raccoon fatty. reminds me of this animation https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8lOhvS-xyrA

Participatory Loop (and the Samovar of Time) by xlomid 2020-10-06T09:08:08Z

@lelulagames thanks for playing. unfortunately we couldn't finish it on time, that's why the last bit is like that. Ivan was supposed to give you feedback on what you chose in the meeting. We will finish it soon and upload a link to the finished game

Participatory Loop (and the Samovar of Time) by xlomid 2020-10-16T08:59:28Z

@lelulagames , @yoni , @elpadlos , @tamail , @jonas-michael , @div00 Just to let you know, the full game link is now added and you can play it all the way to the end. And yes, you can win this thing

Participatory Loop (and the Samovar of Time) by xlomid 2020-10-16T09:00:38Z

@tamail agreed. Given time, I might even consider giving different font colour to each character to help differentiate them even more.

Participatory Loop (and the Samovar of Time) by xlomid 2020-10-16T09:01:52Z

@jonas-michael yeap, we really delivered on being 'stuck in a loop' Try the finished version now and see how it's like after you can finish it.

Cotton Candy Dream by LelulaGames 2020-10-06T09:09:30Z

Cool psychedelic feels. You might want to consider using triggers in front and behind the ball that will spawn trees and objects, because right now it's pretty heavy on the computer to have everything loaded at once
