The least I can say is that the experiment is succeeded ^^ I really enjoyed reading the text entirely and I kind of recognized myself in your words ! Even though it's not my first jam, I have some great memories mine and I hope that you will keep as good memories as mine for this jam ! :)

Really great job !

shenawy 2019-10-07 20:23

@kanonix thanks a lot for the kind words! love to see your work too

kanonix 2019-10-07 20:25

@shenawy Then just click on my name to see the game I did ! Or search it in the news feed, it's called "A Bard's Journey" :D

kenarf 2019-10-07 20:42

Very interesting idea! I like it!

2019-10-07 20:53

It's like looking at the Jam itself!

buoygames 2019-10-07 21:48

love the idea of using RenPi and making a sim for a event like this! Good work!

darkshadow1995 2019-10-07 22:06

really like the dialogue well done

velvetlobster 2019-10-08 07:34

Best quotation on this game ... nice art and idea on the theme, however the sound is a bit buggy, sometimes it restarts on simple interactions which makes it a bit annoying

@velvetlobster thanks for the tip! It seems the problem usually occurs either when advancing with mouse clicks instead of Space or when going backwards and forwards again in the dialogue. Still a mystery to me how to solve that unfortunately..

custardcosmos 2019-10-08 11:09

@darkshadow1995 Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed the dialogue!

benk 2019-10-09 06:33

Nice, liked the game and did remind me of my first jam (though it went far more badly). Great artwork Liked the way the music changed though like somebody said it was janky and I had to mute it after a while :-(

@benk same. I loved sound design very much. And the story is little but powerful. I loved it!

Nice story about the jam itself. Lovely music. Fun game

custardcosmos 2019-10-09 19:40

@benk @aret24 @monish-vyas @nachtwitch @5n1p3r-4r73m1s Thank you for the kind words! I'm glad you enjoyed the game!

ludumanthony 2019-10-10 02:33

That was pretty peak. Music was awesome too.

theinkskeleton 2019-10-10 21:14

That was nice! Music was pretty neat, tough a bit glitchy sometimes. Art was... cool!, with character customization and that. And I don't know why, but I laughed incredibly hard with name selection! So it's a short fun game! Congrats on this!

wolfens 2019-10-11 13:16

I love the idea and the way you addapted it to the game, well done guys :D

zoarfy 2019-10-12 01:25

Hi! This was really cute and fun. I don't think I've ever seen a VN in a Ludum Dare before so that was really fun. It's great building your friend's character too!

Overall a nice, chill game I think we can all relate to! Great job to the team.

xlomid 2019-10-15 19:09

Clever, funny, and well-written little game! Also, great job capturing the feeling of taking part in one's first game jam! The music is great as well (though it didn't seem to loop properly for me). Nice to recognize a familiar university in the background, too:)

So cute! I included it in my Ludum Dare 45 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look :) https://youtu.be/ZqT_X6b-pfk
