Nice game, i feel like the game lacked instructions though, i still have no idea on how to get more food or water, only ducks. The graphics were nice and the music is good, would be nice to have some SFX and some feedback when you do things. Overall cool game.

sirred 2022-04-04 23:18

@lenan Thanks for the feedback I have added some more clear instructions at the beginning of the game now.

Fun game. Quacks me up. (:

arscene 2022-04-04 23:36

I don't know why, but I expected a much darker death animation and a lot more quacks. Really fun game!

jason-pitchford 2022-04-04 23:36

Took a while to fully understand the gameplay but once I did the game was quit fun! Only problem was a lack of sfx.

knipsch 2022-04-04 23:39

The ducks are super cute. I love the little "QUACK" they say every so often. I also love that it's a cute little duck-themed resource management game that, by the way, happens to have a giant angry Duck God that needs to be appeased by sacrificing the adorable tiny ducks!

I wasn't totally sure if there was a goal beyond maintaining food/water, making money, and keeping the Duck God appeased. Can I defeat the Duck God?

Overall, nice job! :D

Love this game! Could definitely use more instructions about how to buy upgrades because discovered it on accident. I had a lot of fun playing this game.

sirred 2022-04-05 00:03

@knipsch you can kill the duck god if you get all the upgrades.

lushboy-studios 2022-04-07 01:33

this is a cute game, but i was struggling to know what to do! I think some more feedback around when the water and food gauge is increasing would be helpful in getting more satisfaction from the gameplay. a nice atmosphere and mellow game overall

Extremely fun! I loved watching the ducks take over my island!

Fun and silly game! I managed to win, though things certainly get out of hand quickly, especially once you start getting more ducks faster! I especially love the item names, I died almost immediately after buying the M.O.A.Q.

A fun little game for sure. Straightforward and tight mechanics that worked.

Very fun little game, I think the idea is quite cool. I've managed to beat the game on my 2nd attempt. Loved the naming of the upgrades. I think it's not super clear what exactly the goal of the game is on your first attemt, so that could possibly be improved to make the game even better. Other than that, a great entry, good job!

I worked hard growing the mighty ducks army. And then the Duck God came and I was not ready. My ducks fought brave and i clicked and clicked on the screen trying to figure out what to do and then it was over. And I skipped the endgame screen cause I clicked too passionately %( I hope the Duck God was defeated, cause he demanded sacrifices abd stuff. But i'm not sure about that - after all he's a God.. :) Nice jam entry, folks! trying too control all those naughty ducks was fun :)

vonfuzzius 2022-04-16 20:32

This is in every way the best game I've seen from the entire jam. I love it!

pumpenkarl 2022-04-16 20:53

Hey there, very nice overall game feel, you really managed to make it feel complete in what you tried to achieve with it. I especially loved the duck-god-appeasing-scene after game over, really didn't expect that attention to detail there!

I would argue that, as in so many game jam entries, the proper tutorial to welcome new players is the only thing that's really missing. Split things into small and evergrowing scenarios after reaching various goals and you should be good to go before investing too much ressources!

sirred 2022-04-16 22:30

@pumpenkarl We have always had a problem with conveying the tutorial and mechanics in a good way I think at this point since its been a few game jams we will make this a big focus of improvement in future ones. Thanks for your feedback
