LD46 — Keep it alive

Are We There Yet by Twistashio 2020-04-23T01:20:32Z

You got a great idea for the theme. But i really think that some improvement on the controls would help the game a tone. It would be nice to hear some sound effects after you collected the cash. Also adding an animimation of car steering would make the game look a lot better. In the end game is really fun but with some changes in UI and correction of the controls you could make a great mobile game and release it on play store.

You Live Like This? by LurkinMcClerkin 2020-04-23T01:10:35Z

Bendover xd hahahah. Nice art and voice overs. Tutorial level done exemplary. Your take fit the theme nicely.

Pyromania by Finnhax 2020-04-27T09:49:05Z

Fun little game. Love the change of tune as the fire burns lower. Also I love the fact that I cant't just leave the game before discovering all the buildings. Only minor complaint I have is that I didn't know how and when to build and I thought that as you hold the button the character would go where he can build automatically and I ended up building IKEA on the border of the map and I was stuck between IKEA and map border. I think that collision between such small buildings is unnecessary as you need to move fast and juggling between bushes and buildings might become hard in late game. Also I think that you should ignore button presses as actual movement. But even with all this minor complaints the game is still really polished and really fun.

GAS by CrazyHomeboys 2020-04-23T01:00:01Z

I really liked your artstyle and music the mood you guys set is just spot on. This really is a hidden gem

Sleep-Rolling Pangolin by Khyrgrim 2020-04-21T15:24:05Z

I enjoyed this game quite a lot. Levels are really clever and well thought out. So far my favourite game on LD46.

Snail Tender by Alexander Leitner 2020-04-21T18:41:47Z

Loved the sound effects. Reminds me of impossible quiz.

Type it alive by Adry 2020-04-22T12:32:27Z

Really interesting concept. And the game fits the theme really nicely.

APawcalypse by Brex 2020-04-21T15:26:04Z

Hi guys we are aware of that glitch but we are not sure if it is fair to fix it in the voting stage.

APawcalypse by Brex 2020-04-23T09:54:25Z

Each day zombies become stronger: deal more damage, have higher HP and are faster. For now the end goal is just survive as long as you can but in the long run we will add more weapons, crafting, exploration, upgrading doggo and yourself aswell as possible base upgrades. Thank you all for suggestions and reports on bugs. And yeah we kind of planned out this whole thing wrong and didn't leave any time for polish so sorry about that :sob:.

Save The Bebe by Ridde 2020-04-21T21:10:15Z

This is a really fun little game. But you could improve the game by adding screen shake if you drop the baby and adding simple soundeffects with increasing notes for streaks of catching the baby. Overall , good job!

Village by akai_0okami 2020-10-26T23:35:38Z

Really chill laid back game

Red Baddies in Blue Sky Town by citsua 2020-10-27T00:02:34Z

Really nice game. Loved the shouthing mechanic(even though the radius is a bit off) and the cartoonish dangers hah. U did so much in such a tight timeframe. Well done!

Suitcase Panic by TheInkSkeleton 2020-10-26T22:57:22Z

Idea fits the theme really well. It is a bit buggy but nothing gamebreaking really. But I think you could have playtested it a bit. For me its a tad bit too hard hah. I feel like inspector Rex if I manage to give two correct suitcases. The reference to ma boi PixelProphecy gave me a good chuckle

While(True) by RubixNoob13 2020-10-26T23:28:20Z

Not really a fan of rage games but I found myself really giving my all to see the end but got rickrolled at the end :(. Controls were really tight though, like them a lot!

Hamster Simulator by snowinn 2020-10-26T22:46:45Z

¸hahahahha great concepthahah but managed to break it with 2 keyboards. Game is really fun , short and sweet. Overall a really nice entry with really innovative take on the boring and stale clicker genre. The small problem I have really is with UI color palette. Maybe you should use some pallete generator for your next game. But overall well done!

Lamps by Dimini Inc. 2020-10-26T23:15:10Z

Wow nice concept found myself really stuck in it hahah. Loved the minimalistic artwork. This game really deserves more traffic, such an underrated entry. Well done!

CoronaLOOP by betovf 2020-10-26T23:08:44Z

The concept is quite confusing at first, but once I got the grip on it I thought its really clever. But I think that the controls are not at all intuitive and the gameplay, for me at least, suffers for it. I think it would be better if zou could see the whole map from the air and click with a mouse on each cell. It would turn the game into fun little micro management game. I mean the game is fun as is but I think that this would make it better. Also I would really appreciate if u had some sort of indicator on where the cell is going to dash first. Overall a really nice entry.

Stuck In A Loop - A visual novel that totally mentions the theme at least once. by Fiquem 2020-10-26T23:52:12Z

Nice story and loved the simple hand-drawn artstyle. Also in the 3/6 crew :D

LD50 — Delay the inevitable

ONCOMING by Paperdomo101 2022-04-06T10:59:06Z

As previously said. Classic game with a nice twist. I like the addition of high score leaderboards. I continued playing just so I could top them (yea I made it). This inspired me to add leaderboards to my next jam game. Great entry!

Sorcery's End by James Dunlap 2022-04-06T09:15:22Z

I'm really impressed with the amount of mechanics you managed to fit in one jam game. I played until the 8th wave and then I realized that the game suffers from classic TD problem, you build your bases up in the beginning and there really is no way for the AI to pass through unless they spam as many enemies as possible. The only damage I received was in first wave so absence of challenge kind of made me lose my interest. Maybe you could add units that do nothing but destroy player's towers or add units that heal surrounding units. Overall I think that such game design flaws shouldn't impact the rating of the game much since the mechanics you implemented are really impressive and it would demand a lot of extra effort to organize them in a more sensible manner (which is a lot to ask in this time frame). Good job!

Park Lane by DrunkardWolf 2022-04-08T15:03:43Z

While it isn't there much in terms of actual game, the eerie atmosphere, spooky sound design and clever lightning really make this game one of the most beautiful and immersive games I've played on this jam. Good job!

Fire Escape by Dj Depressive 2022-04-08T14:57:25Z

Although I didn't quite understand what do I actually do by pushing clickable items, I really liked the mood set by the buffed boss chasing me, art and the sound design. Some more feedback on clicking the items would be helpful. But all in all really fun and polished entry.

ESCAPE VELOCITY by Quackqack 2022-04-05T11:32:42Z

I really enjoyed the game. Interesting mix of mechanics, great music and sfx, great retro graphics ... My only suggestion would be to make asteroid field less dense (with asteroids ofc) and have actual words to type for each rocket and the word for the rocket changes once you type it successfully. That way typing would be more of a challenge, because right now it feels a bit gimmicky. Overall great entry, good job!

You Will Fall by Yaen 2022-04-05T21:51:27Z

Wow this game is frustratingly hard. The furthest I got was 10 meters. Since I failed a lot, the starting "So you think you can make it across" started to feel like a part of a brainwashing session . Overall really polished entry. I especially dig the animations.

Rifthoppers by Kimberly 2022-04-06T15:47:45Z

I love me good bullet hell game and it's such a nice addition to let us overpower our character by constantly respawning. I suggest that in the full game you put it as a new game+ option. Great work!

Inevitable Crash by NikolaVuk 2022-04-05T10:19:19Z

Just so you know there is a HTML build, but I can't edit the page because the submission deadline is over

Inevitable Crash by NikolaVuk 2022-04-05T22:21:49Z

@jm-janzen your successful attempts are recorded and you avoid them. They move just as you moved but since you start on different parking space when you succeed you probably didn't notice it. You're right about the green thing, maybe I could've replaced it with some sign or something. @jerryberry yeah you're right about the acceleration on the turning. If I make post jam version I will definitely try to make a tighter controller. Thanks everyone for the feedback it really means a lot to me.

Inevitable Crash by NikolaVuk 2022-04-05T22:27:11Z

@adncoach yeah, camera angles could've been better. But I was really against top down since the game loses a lot of depth graphically. In post jam version I will try to find a compromise between the current angles (mainly the angles at level 3, 6 and 9 since I think they work a lot better than the rest) and the top down angles

Inevitable Crash by NikolaVuk 2022-04-05T22:31:29Z

@ciderpunk noted, I think that restart button would be a really nice addition to post jam version. @postpostscript as I said in previous comment I really think that viewing angles could be improved greatly, but I'm not sure if the camera controls are a way to go since they complicate the control scheme greatly and I really wanted to keep it clean so it isn't too confusing. Thanks everyone for the honest feedback!

3 Days At Sea by JamieOK 2022-04-05T22:00:25Z

I think that pixelated screen gave the game a really unique look. But I also think that the low poly boat could have been smooth shaded since everything else is smooth shaded in the game. Gameplay-wise I'm a bit disappointed that there isn't really any survival mechanic so you can survive longer, but the mood of the game is really top notch. My mouth is dry.

CigBan by Bassilij 2022-04-06T09:43:33Z

Really fun and simple game, but maybe too slow for my liking. Ended up killing him just because. +1 for voxel bong.

Cup Half Full by BangTheWall 2022-04-06T09:33:22Z

I LOVE the idea, but the execution is SO frustrating. Why are the blocks so bouncy, I manage to line them up so I need just one tile and BAM rain of blocks fall full speeed from the sky and disrupt everything I built. I played 4 times and not once did I lose because the blocks reached the top from glass being full, but because I was so irritated that I pushed everything out (a really cathartic feeling). Overall really solid and polished entry but bounciness and speed of the blocks ruined the experience for me :(.

Stay Afloat by Fredrik Rosell 2022-04-06T10:46:23Z

On the first level I didn't quite get why would you put controls of speed and jump when you can always use the best settings. Then on the level 2 I realized the quite clever mechanic. Really nice entry, but my only problem with it are disappearing platforms, sometimes platforms at front disappear before platforms at the back, is that supposed to happen?

TO THE DEATH (Definitely not a psyche experiment) by Sloke T 2022-04-06T09:37:42Z

Hahah funny take on the theme even if it is a last minute panic game.

Mr. Second by Marvis 2022-04-05T22:10:57Z

When I saw the artstyle and animations I was blown away that you managed to make a game that looks this good in one weekend. Character controller (if we ignore one flaw which I'll get to) is really responsive and fun to control. But the rewind mechanic... It's so frustrating and makes me angry since it ruins the responsiveness of otherwise perfectly fine controller. It really feels shoehorned into the game design. I understand what level design possibilities it brings but could you at least put it so that the player can switch when does it start. All in all, you created a great entry that really stands out from the most.

Ghost Chase! by Gnome4 2022-04-06T09:24:01Z

This was a really clean and fun entry. It really reminded me a lot of Boos in Mario castle and angles in Doctor Who lol. I don't really understand why limit the max amount of time you can survive. If it's a high score game why not make the pickups be multipliers so when you pick them up the time passes faster. Maybe I'm wrong but I also think that the watches don't respawn once you pick them up because I think I picked up 3 or 4 on my first playthrough and I managed to find only 1 on my second playthrough.
