I'm a big fan of your past works, and this is no exception! Great controls, fun recursive gameplay, the Wibble Wobble ground effect, punchy sounds. Overall, another classic!
@jedemac Thanks for the feedback, we noticed that the game looks considerably darker on certain displays, but didn't find time to tweak the lights to account for this. We will adjust the lighting to make it a bit brighter in our post-jam revision. You are also right about damaging the boss being confusing, because you needed to use a mechanic that we never introduced prior to the fight, which was to kite the boss's fist around when it chases you to hit him in the face. Unfortunately, the boss's hit box is a little small, which made it even harder to figure this out intuitively.
@thesambassador Thank you! I've mentioned the issue about the darkness in my reply to JedeMac, and I agree that the spiders are a damn pest!
@soul-grinder @redkitsune Glad you enjoyed!
That final level was soul-crushing, but I got there in the end! For years I've wanted to make/play a game that pairs getting over it with a sword, and this was better than I could have imagined. This is a fantastic game, the sprites are clean and full of emotion, the gameplay is intuitive yet challenging, and the difficulty curve was a rollercoaster (in a good way). Very nice re-use of level design as well. Overall, a great experience that I recommend!
Fun and tricky to maneuver down without blowing yourself up! Clean art, nice music, tight controls, I had a good time.
I had a great time playing this game! The music and sounds were very immersive and calming, and the controls were simple and intuitive. The floating bottle was a fun little twist to the gameplay that I didn't expect, I would have loved even more objects with different physical attributes. Nicely done!
Great sprite-work and very fun, I played this for quite a while! Don't really have anything but kind words to say about this game; very nice job!
I spammed right click for about five seconds and actually laughed out loud. I had fun covering myself in obstructions and then trying to jump my way out. Animations are really nice, but definitely needs more substance.
A brilliant foundation of a puzzle game! The mechanics are taught through intuition, rather than text boxes, which is great; the art and music are some of the best I've seen this entire jam, the bit of story that is told is wonderful and I would love to see it expanded upon. Overall, I'm a big fan of this world you've created and want to see more!
Really, really fun game, I spent like an hour playing it! The gameplay is very compelling, it would have been cool to see new ores popping up in the underworlds. I kept going hoping for an ending but eventually realized it was infinite after the under under under under under under under under under under under under underworld. Very nice and impressive for the compo!
Wonderful lighting, great models, sprite-work and animation, and satisfying sound effects! Movement and fighting felt pretty great, though I did die very easily (but I'm probably just bad). The tutorials were to the point and conveyed through gameplay, which is always more elegant than walls of text. I didn't run into any bugs during my play-through, and just had a good time. Nicely done!
This game reminds me of a lot of classic Flash/Newgrounds games with the incremental shop mechanic, which was cool! I also like how the soundtrack changes as you go deeper.
Audio and graphics are nice, and controls feel good! Having to hold E to climb the ropes instead of Up or 'W' was a bit difficult, and some of the collisions are a little janky.
This was a joy to play! I tell you, when I put the 'key of complete and utter doom' in that wall, I switched right from blissfully amused to total anxiety, and the suspense in finding where to go next made it more and more nerve-racking! You nailed both humor and horror atmosphere. The artwork and animations are beautiful, as is the music, the writing was engaging and funny, and to top it off, I didn't run into any issues or bugs, so from my experience, expertly programmed. All in all, this is very impressive for a jam game, and I congratulate you all on your efforts!
Nice concept and good controls! The camera was a little disorienting, but I understand that this was intentional. Good simple game.
Really beautiful graphics, space felt really expansive! Tight controls as well. I liked the upgrade system and the interpretation of the theme. I did find the graphics to be pretty processor intensive in the web version though.
Once I got a feel for the rhythm, swimming down was really fun! The sharks added a decent challenge and the flamingo guy was a nice touch. I only wish there was more to do.
Thanks for the feedback on my game, I'm here to return the favor. The hand-drawn look suits the mood effectively, the animations are smooth and expressive, and combined with the audio they are a great platform to convey the lovely message. I played through the loop once and figured out the good end on my second attempt, so I think you got the balance right making it just obscure enough that you don't notice it on the first playthrough. Gameplay-wise, I had the most fun in the platforming section and the controls were pretty tight. I felt that the school sections could use some more of a 'game' than just walking and still keep the mood. Overall, very nice job, I enjoyed this!
Brilliant atmosphere brought together by fantastic art and wonderful music! The smooth animations and the color shifting as you descend really make the world feel alive. I found the level to be a bit confusing to navigate, but I enjoyed exploring it nonetheless. Great work!
This was tons of fun! It started out fairly easy, but then at around level 4 I really had to twist my brain to work out the solution. The mechanics are taught very intuitively and have been used to make some challenging puzzles. The art and music are both fantastic and the story is charming. Great game!
This was tons of fun to play! The solutions were always satisfying and elegant, the artwork was great and clear, the music was a bit repetitive but it definitely set the mood, and I didn't encounter any bugs or issues. Very nice job!
Some nice level design going on here, and I like the simple style. Worth noting though, the camera changing view size is a little jarring, and the controls are a bit stiff. I was also able to clip the first rock into the floor by standing on it.
Really nice animations, and pretty responsive gameplay! The 'blind jumps' are a little scary, but none of them lead to death which is good. Also, the foreground could have used a little more love graphics-wise.
I found myself moving in time with the music, which is always really satisfying! The graphics are cute, the controls are tight, the objective is simple. Really nice little game.
Really difficult at first, but once I realized I had to used the gun to propel myself towards the rappel hooks, I had a lot of fun! Wonderful art style and nice music too.
Solid controls and concept! Having to hold down 'E' to collect resources was satisfying. The water level of the area matching up to that of the region on the map was a nice attention to detail. Having some upgrades or something to buy besides more torpedos would be nice.
Funny concept pretty well executed! The controls had a bit of input lag (at least on my end) but this only made it funnier with a 'drunken' sort of delay to the movement.
Responsive gameplay tied with wonderful art and music! Difficulty takes a pretty steep incline in the second half of the level, but this makes success very rewarding.
Very entertaining dialogue, well written and funny! I enjoyed going back to different areas with the items I found and seeing how things would change.
Thank you so much for your feedback @ulisses, I like the car horn idea, and we considered adding police cars during the jam, but didn't have the time to implement them. They will probably debut in the post-jam release! I'm glad you enjoyed!
Wonderful game, atmosphere was charming, music and graphics were nice!
Solving the first bamboo puzzle was satisfying when I realized I could water the shoots in the grass. After the first bridge section, as I was saying in my head "I wish I could hold more water", the water bucket upgrade was perfect timing.
Really good stuff!
Fantastic art and music and a really unique movement system!
Obviously the game would benefit from more difficulty over time and a greater variety of obstacles, but as is, I had fun!

Really great game! So much fun racing against the flood of slime, trying to save a few more little workers!
Really fun and intuitive! My first attempt I didn't know what was going on and I enjoyed that. I liked figuring out what each building did wondering what the inevitable was. It finally hit me when it, well, hit me! Once I knew what to do, I was able to make a lot of money very quickly and get everyone to safety. Like many have already said, I wish it was more difficult. Great job otherwise!
Pretty great for a first attempt, especially for a solo dev; the art and music reminded me of classic flash games! As has already been criticized, the procedural gen and controls could use some work if you were to continue this, but you already know this.
Nice job overall!
Wow, this was really great! It got surprisingly tense as the downfall reached 100%, in my best run I saved 152 villagers. Really smooth animations and fittingly mellow music too. Nice job!
