Best of Luck!
Hey all! I am a 11 year old (just turned 12) and this game was only made in 2 hours because I didn't have enough time.
WOW! I barely played games well at 12. This is cool. Got a little motion sick on the camera but good job making it in on time!
@teenythanos The "dizzy camera movement" is actually a feature so it becomes difficult to travel through the plates!
Nice concept and good controls! The camera was a little disorienting, but I understand that this was intentional. Good simple game.
Sorry for the dizzy camera, the bug is being fixed!
Yeah I WON! Nice idea but strange ball physics (to light?). Anyway good job!
This game is hard! In a good way though. I think it would be nice if I didn't feel like I was fighting the ball. I recommend scaling your world down a bit so the ball doesn't feel as slow and is more responsive. Really cool idea for being able to control the world around you instead of the main character, it's sort of like an inverse Marble Blast Ultra.
A nice start to a puzzle idea. I think it could use a little more polish. The ball moves too slow and I spent a lot of time just waiting. The camera angle could use some tweaking as well, it was hard to see where the platforms below you were at times.
@tengusheath Thank you for your feedback! I will sure take that in consideration.
I have fixed all bugs in the post-jam build. And if you still think the ball is slow you can just tilt the plates even more. (using W and A keys). And @levi, instead of scaling the world, I adjusted the camera so you see more of the other plates.
Great little game, like the idea a lot! I agree the camera was a bit cumbersome (couldn't really see where I was going) but happy to hear you found a way to fix it post-jam! I think it's a good idea and you could probably do other cool things next. Have you thought of the "exit" of a plate being special? Like, a jump? Or teleport to somewhere else? A plate with a hole somewhere in the middle instead of gate? etc. You could make many different levels with a few of these variations.
Super short and simple but fun nonetheless!
Nice job!! love the music! Maybe it's just me, but I felt like the keys to rotate the platforms were flipped around? Took a little getting used to haha. Congrats on making a game!! :)
@interface @feralpoodles @norris-eldridge thanks for the feedback! And nice idea @interface I could sure do that!
Hi great entry, especially for such a young game dev! Great on you for participating even with limited time. If I can offer some constructive feedback:
1: The ability to move the camera with the mouse would be very helpful! Sometimes (even in the post jam version) it was hard to tell where I was going.
2: You should consider adding a different physics material to the wall of the plates from their floor, and reduce the friction on the walls. You can kind of use the fact that the walls have friction on the balls to your advantage to cheese it a bit
Again, excellent job, I hope you continue to enter game jams and do game development, as you clearly have a great deal of skill for it!
Congrats on submitting!
Nice idea that suits the theme well, could use some adjustments to the camera to improve the experience, but nice clear game loop
Nice job. I managed to bypass the first two white plates - fell from the green plate straight to the 3rd white plate, which then easily rolled onto the red plate to victory. Don't know if you want to maybe tweak that so it's not possible to do that ;) Can play this game for hours. Music is cool as well. Just difficult to see where the other plates are sometimes, it's like it's zoomed in too much and you can't zoom out.
The concept is very interesting, but oh boy those controls are trippy 🥴 I eventually figured it out, but orienting myself was really hard (but I guess that's the point). I would have preferred to have the "up" and "down" controls flipped, because "up" conceptually means "go forward" to me (but maybe that's just me). Also, the camera angle was a bit frustrating at times, because I couldn't see where I was going.
Somehow I really enjoyed figuring out the direction of gravity at any point, and I wonder what this would be like if you also had trampoline-like platforms where the ball bounces higher, or auto-rotating platforms etc. Really got the gears in my brain turning! :D
