I loved the graphics, unfortunately I have the following error when I press "Use".

Use.PNG

Maybe i'm doing something wrong but I wanted to tell you just in case it has an easy fix.

jesse-martin 2022-04-04 21:41

I was getting the same error as @muriel, another thing when not in full screen the game window was larger then my screen

moasip 2022-04-04 21:43

I like the concept and the gameplay. The graphics, ui, and sound effects are great. I think having some sort of in-game help menu would be nice.

jacek-s0905 2022-04-05 08:36

Fixed that bug, typical Un assigned variable error... Thanks for the feedback.

fredrik-rosell 2022-04-05 12:24

Looks great! Love the concept and art-style in particular.

lolopupka 2022-04-05 12:38

The art style is cool Background especially! Nice game :)

tan-games 2022-04-05 13:12

Nice and fun game. Great concept and good graphics. One suggestion would be to keep turn and use buttons close and/or make planet auto-rotate when use button is pressed. Once I had a couple of launchers setup I had to keep going back and forth between buttons. Also, screen size was a slight issue, it was very large and I had to scroll to see some sections of the game. Overall game was fun and concept was nice.

jacek-s0905 2022-04-05 16:30

You can use the arrow keys or A and D keys to rotate.

tieran 2022-04-05 16:56

Cool game, Although I only saved 900 people haha

I think an improvement to make is fully support the keyboard or a controller. Like bind the objects to build with 1,2,3, space to launch and backspace to delete maybe?

Other than that I enjoyed playing good work

jni 2022-04-05 16:59

Nice concept and gameplay functionality. I just had to go back to the description a few times to find out what to do. Maybe you could add some descriptions in the game.

omi 2022-04-05 17:10

Very nice concept, fits well with the theme. I had fun with the game! The economy could use some balancing but I think it's a great game for a first timer! I hope you'll continue to make games in future as well. :)

aggressivejedi 2022-04-05 17:28

We did same game bro. Check this https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/50/dont-look-up

jacek-s0905 2022-04-05 19:37

Well, I guess it happens... That means that it's a good idea!

enad96 2022-04-06 10:48

The rotating earth to place buildings is a cool idea!

tristian-tee 2022-04-06 11:10

Ha, same concept as @benbennett did for compo! You both took it in different ways and its a cool take on the theme regardless.

More polish on this one, as to be expected from a jam entry.

I loved the rotation of the earth. Very intuitive.

Good layout of UI, though I did have trouble with the contents not fitting the screen. Might have been a bug, not sure.

It was a little easy. I could imagine this kind of game with multiple levels where Humans evacuate to a new planet only to find a new asteroid heading for it and each new planet is harder.

All in all, I'd have to say this is a decent entry. Good job!

okamit 2022-04-06 11:15

Neat little game with good graphics! Hovever, the game is at a fixed resolution, which means the UI is outside the screen borders if you play in a window or on a laptop with smaller resolution scaling, at least on my laptop.

Good work!

tiny-pig 2022-04-06 11:58

Compelling idea that was fun and tense. Well done.

pashaf 2022-04-06 12:08

Very interesting game! Despite the simplicity of the gameplay

solanumteam 2022-04-06 12:30

I can't play it because the game window is bigger than my screen... Is there a way to fix it? Tried fullscreen, but it was the same...

jacek-s0905 2022-04-06 12:53

@solanumteam I just managed to fix it!

yogurtthehorse 2022-04-06 14:55

Cool idea. I really enjoyed your game :)

But can say that it's a bit too dark (maybe just for me, though)

Thank you for the game!

jacek-s0905 2022-04-06 16:08

(@yogurtthehorse Thank's for the feedback! Yeah, while designing I really dropped down the light strength.

tamagotchi 2022-04-06 16:18

First of all: super cool music! As someone who used Bosca Ceoil before, that was the first thing I noticed. I've spend an embarassingly long time in the title screen just listening and staring at the rotating earth because it looked so interesting. The UI, while simple, is easy to understand.

Now, I'm not sure if it was your intention to make the game this easy, but I think it would have benefited from a bit more difficulty, because right now, you only need to place one factory and wait a bit before you can place your evacuation ship, which makes the rockets entirely useless.

Nonetheless, you did very good for your first game jam!

jacek-s0905 2022-04-06 16:34

@tamagotchi Thanks! Honestly I didn't spend too much time working on the music because from my previous tries I knew that if I would add so many instruments it wouldn't sound that good.

lenny-rudeberg 2022-04-06 18:25

Very well done for your first game jam, congratulations! I didn't have any errors it seemed to run well and I was able to save about a handful of the population. Thanks for the game.

morricore 2022-04-07 13:28

Nice take, but I think it need explanation what happening. Like what each building does. Great work!

jacek-s0905 2022-04-07 19:08

@morricore The rocket launcher can spawn a rocket which can push back the asteroid, the factory produces money and the evacuation station can evacuate 50 people from the Earth in each spaceship (The goal of the game is to evacuate everyone)

jacinto-mba 2022-04-10 21:54

Nice concept and so fun to play, good job!

janku 2022-04-11 13:19

Loved it! Although it doesnt really fit as to 'delay the inevitable' with option to actually prevent the disaster by evacuating everyone (which I did, satisfying :D) -> I would actually see this as a great beggining to a cool project. Just add more demanding timer to make it more of a challenge, now it seems like a display of mechanics without any challenge at all, but its still really satysfing to just build. Add challenge, more content and this could be really great game in the end that people will come back to! Great work! :D

perrin 2022-04-11 13:32

Although this is enjoyable I think it could have been a bit more difficult, a bit more pressure to keep a few different plates spinning. This was just a bit too easy to solve and complete.

paperdomo101 2022-04-11 14:18

Really fun and intuitive! My first attempt I didn't know what was going on and I enjoyed that. I liked figuring out what each building did wondering what the inevitable was. It finally hit me when it, well, hit me! Once I knew what to do, I was able to make a lot of money very quickly and get everyone to safety. Like many have already said, I wish it was more difficult. Great job otherwise!

jacek-s0905 2022-04-11 15:14

@perrin Well, I'm working on the difficulty setting

jacek-s0905 2022-04-11 15:17

@janku I had an idea to add an "infinite" gamemode (where you get score for evacuating, but there's no way to evacuate everyone)

gaming-night 2022-04-11 15:42

Good job, well balanced and addictive gameplay! Very impressive for a first game jam. Congrats!
