God tier game Super cool synth pad music, great concept, fun and a bit meditative
Cool game, was able to score 280 meters after couple of tries! Congrats
Cool idea, play's well and I like the artstyle.
I would have loved to see an in game tutorial because I as quite confused until went and read the itch.io page. I'm also a bit confused on the camera starting to move really late, once the slime is already almost at the top of the screen. Maybe it was a bug, but if it wasn't I would make it start move a lot earlier.
Other then that, really fun and simple in nature. Love it!
amazing art and cool idea, quite hard to play at start.
The art is gorgeous. The sounds are nice. And the music is kind of out of the way but still sets a nice mood. I found the places where you can build houses to be a bit fiddly, that probably because of my own stupidity though. Nice game.
cool game but why are the inhabitants suicidal
simple but lovely art style. I started to get the hang of it when suddenly W and S stopped working and I couldn't scroll up and down anymore. Reloading the page didn't help either.
@smiley thanks for letting me know. Think it was a problem with the fullscreen toggle.
@oxnh thanks for the feedback. Yeah I agree, would have been good to show the building you're about to place somehow.
@pashaloban life's hard
Very nice game. Concept is interesting, the graphics look really good and the music is very fitting
Wow super cool game and very impressive compo entry! Really liked the simple styling of it and the randomness of the inhabitant placement added a degree of difficulty and replayability.
Has potential to be one of the best games of the whole jam.
The art is simple yet really aesthetically pleasing. The atmosphere is completed with the very nice synthy pads, and 8-bit SFX. The gameplay has good replayability due to the random spawns of other slimes.
The only complaint I really have is that the AI for the people you save is kind of bad...there should be some way to actually direct them, or they should be smarter and actually follow you instead of literally climbing down a 4-unit ladder into the slime after building a house.
Really awesome game dude!
Really enjoyed this little puzzler :) - Super unique and interesting! Was confused on the first couple of plays, but eventually was building many scaffolds and buildings lol
Really fun game! My highscore is 200. The difficulty spike is so harsh in the middle of the playthrough
Really great game! So much fun racing against the flood of slime, trying to save a few more little workers!
Wow. What a cool entry. Hypnotic synth music. Placing the scaffolding and houses felt very satisfying. The rising slime lent itself well to the theme. And the inhabitants have AI? Randomized levels? I can't believe this was done in 2 days. Awesome job :) Yours is my favorite so far.
Very nice game. If the little people would the way, it would be nicer :D
It was hard for me at first to understand how the game works. But once understood... what a great game, what a great art and what a good idea. The atmosphere that the music gives is spectacular!
nice game, very creative idea. love the visuals and sfx too
A really impressive game! The guys seemed to behave a little weird and often just stayed on the scaffolding and died. Took me a while to figure out how everything works, but it was fine. Wish the game session was a bit longer, the slime started advancing like crazy after about 100m. Enjoyed the game, good job!

super nice, and i love the ripple effect of the slime. The controls are simple but the game is fun. Great job
Woah, that's hard ! But I like the color palette though
Such an original concept and gameplay. I liked it a lot. I love the minimalist yet polished graphics. The soundrack really reinforces that nice atmosphere.
great game!
I really liked this game for its atmosphere alone! I loved the art which immediately pulled me in to this weird world. Then with the sinister background music I was completely sold :D
The gameplay was a bit unclear for me at first. I tried building houses or scaffolding on the ground level, but it would not let me. After experimenting a bit I found out I had to press one layer above the ground level, but by that time the slime had already caught up to me. This was all fine the second playthrough, but the introduction could have been smoother. A small idea for this is to have the slime start rising once the player puts down their first thing, so that they have a bit of time to try things out. Please ignore this if you dont like it though :)
Otherwise the gameplay was very well polished, with nice sound effects and screenshakes whenever you build something. Tactics wise I was not sure why I should not just build straight up with scaffolding until I almost ran out, and then put a house at the top?
Anyway, amazingly well done! Really impressive for only 48 hours! :D
Definitely one of the most unique games I've seen so far. You came up with a very interesting take on the theme, but still managed to execute it perfectly, great job!
Really love the unique take on the theme and the art style. Great work!
pretty unique idea! Enjoyed my playthroughs of this, took me about 2 tries to fully get a good feel for how it works.
Overall I'd say the difficulty was balanced pretty well, and it had decent depth to its design.
Congrats on a solid entry!
_Really_ hard/frustrating at first, I tried clicking some places, nothing happened, right clicked others, nothing happened, then clicked somewhere it was white, and a thing appeared and I couldn't seem to click or do anything for a bit, and then everyone died.
Second game I figured out slightly more, though still died very quickly, my people mostly just liked running down ladders into the slime it seemed...
Third game went slightly better, got a score of 135 meters, and started having some fun.
Maybe it should start with a lot more time to figure out what's going on (slime just doesn't move until you've built up past a height of 5 or something?) so one can learn the controls / mechanics a bit, I think that would have removed most of the initial frustration. Was fun when I got into it though!
I really like the aesthetic, and audio was good!
Love the concept and the implementation, the game is fun and graphically stunning. You even made a cool water effect. There might be a bug that prevents people from building a house placed next to another. Also why would i build a lot of houses like you do in the gif rather than go up as quickly as possible? I like this anyway, good job!

my best was 400m! Lovely, clean pixelart graphics. Atmospheric music and sounds, clean, engaging and simple to understand mechanics, I've enjoyed this entry a lot.
At first I thought that the people counter was the "house" counter and one time I placed the house in an inaccesible place and I thought (wrongly) that I've locked myself out - turns out that it was active "people" counter.
Sometimes the guys would just suicide in the slime even if they had an escape path - not sure how to prevent that. I guess I would need to move them faster by giving them build orders - would be cool if they had more self-preserving insticts!
Very impressive for 48h - a solid compo entry! :v:
your game is very suitable for this topic, I like the design and the mechanics of the game surprised me, great game
