My computer could not load the game ;-;

wandersen 2021-04-27 03:07

@leonardo-coyado Apparently google drive forgot to copy a file while sharing with my partner haha. Edit: it should be working now.

antaresvaldemar 2021-04-27 03:16

Well I figured out the first password...and I didn't get any further than that lol. Maybe I am too dumb but in any case, I like the vibe of your game!

wandersen 2021-04-27 03:19

Thank you! Yeah its intended to be abstract, so don't worry haha.

paperdomo101 2021-04-27 03:38

I was only able to decipher the first password as well, but I loved the atmosphere and concept. Maybe I'll try again later when my brain is working a little better!

wandersen 2021-04-27 03:40

I feel you. I can barely stay awake and try all these cool games.

mmason 2021-04-27 04:44

I had issues with the downloaded version, the mouse was stuck in the lower left quadrant of the screen, I really enjoyed what I was able to play. I'll come back and finish if that gets fixed

alexdart 2021-04-27 04:50

I loved this game, tho i did figure out the password to the main file, i couldnt get the pass for the coordinates, maybe is my fault that i cant remember where the north/south is haha

but overall i loved this game!

kev-the-gamedev 2021-04-27 12:01

A really nice game! I know these two guys only had a few hours to get it done, since I worked with them on my last project till sunday night. Great outcome for such a short period of development!

I really liked the graphics and corrupted pc mood! Took me some time to get the first password, guess I should have slept longer!

nanda 2021-04-27 16:30

@mmason Is your Screen Resolution higher than 1920x1080 ? Our Screen Shader made the cursor really buggy.

reblys 2021-04-27 18:00

Amazing ambiance ! The game is really short though, i'm still hungry for more x)

nanda 2021-04-27 19:18

@reblys Thank you! We had very little time left for content. Definetly thinking about expanding on the premise ;D

wandersen 2021-04-27 21:31

@mmason the game should be playable now in the winbuild if you have a standard 16:9 resolution monitor, if not you could still try our WebBuild :)

mmason 2021-04-27 23:35

@nanda @wandersen I'm using 1366x768, things seemed a bit squashed but aside from an issue with clicking the button to start the game it played fine. I'm glad I got to play the rest of it because it was really good and I wish it was longer. The screen shader was pretty awesome but I have to give mad props to whoever did the dithering on the background image.

nanda 2021-04-28 00:26

@mmason Thanks a lot! I'm glad you could play it after all. If you mean the desktop wallpaper that was me but you can actually dither like that in one click with Aseprite ;D

Also we're thinking about fleshing the game out properly, so if you're interested in that you can follow us either on itch or twitter (@starbannergames and @WandersenCS). Would be much appreciated :)

toxiccomputer 2021-04-28 17:43

Really nice game! Really innovative and the way you set the mood was really good. Had a good time cracking the password. Good job!

ladybenko 2021-04-28 19:27

I like the vibe and the atmosphere and I kept playing until I finished it. Good job! My only "but" is that I managed to unlock the final password having missed the previous one (just by guessing) so I had still one folder to unlock and I missed part of the story.

nanda 2021-04-28 20:50

@ladybenko Thank you, i'm glad you enjoyed it! The last password is definetly too obvious. Patched together close to the deadline ;D

wandersen 2021-04-28 21:32

@toxiccomputer thank you so much!

@ladybenko yeah we know haha. We will probably expand the theme with more users and deeper puzzles

marcovalekaz 2021-04-28 22:39

Nice! colors kind of burned my retina, but it was an interesting experience. really felt like I was messing around in someone else's computer

2021-04-29 02:38

The short, but well executed, game shows a lot of potential for future add-ons. There was one thing that kind of bothers me, and that was being able to guess the final solution without having to solve all prior puzzles. All in all I enjoyed the playthrough a lot and hope for more content in the future! :D

alina-baybulatova 2021-04-29 06:40

So interesting idea! And sooo beautiful graphic! I really have fun to play this game! Thank you) Awesome job 👍

kassymov-iran 2021-04-29 06:40

Dude this is literally the best game I've played so far! Nothing to add

poweranze 2021-04-29 11:59

This game is super intriguing. I love the indie wave of simulated OS's. Sadly I couldn't finish the game, I always got a game over when openen chaos.exe and didnt find out the temple log password. I wrote @wandersen on twitter to avoid spoilers here in the comments.

Other than that, super enjoyable and the perfect music choice!

wandersen 2021-04-29 14:36

@poweranze the game at the moment is only consisting of three puzzles an we deliberately kept the main file to finish the game on the desktop itself so that clever people could skip a few things (why they would want that is their choice), if you want to get in contact on Twitter my handle is @WandersenCS :)

steinuil 2021-04-29 16:30

Very cool atmosphere! I almost gave up on the first (third?) puzzle but I found the solution as I was closing the windows. Good entry.

dude-the-hero 2021-04-29 18:26

Wow! this is so cool! It's kind of similar to what I did. It's cool that other people thought about old OSs and the internet etc. when given the theme. There's a lot in this that I think would have improved my entry quite a bit. The tactile feedback from clicks and typing feels so good and the screen filter really adds to the vibe. Very Nice and polished feel!

webox 2021-04-30 01:31

Yay did it!!

Captura de pantalla 2021-04-29 222947.jpg

This is super cool, how did you make this thing in a jam!? Feels really polished, I wish it woul've been a bit longer, but it's pretty awesome anyway, just made me eager for more puzzles. Great job!! Loved it <3

nanda 2021-04-30 15:47

@webox Haha yeah it was suuuuper tight xD Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed it :)

bastienre4 2021-04-30 18:21

Awesome! Mood is incredible and I love the aesthetics. Congrats.

wandersen 2021-04-30 20:21

@bastienre4 thank you so much!

dane-tesla 2021-05-07 14:52

The idea reminded me of our own game from a year past, Hype Dream which also was a old OS simulation in some parts but in more Instagram-like, pastel palette so when I saw your game I had to play a "dark and creepy" version of this concept :D And I'm glad I did so! Excellent, one of the best entries I played so far! Thank you for this amazing experience.

nanda 2021-05-08 13:45

@dane-tesla Thank you so much! I'll make sure i get to play that as well :D

Thanks for submitting your game for me to play on stream! I played it yesterday. You can watch me play it here (at 4:04).

Unfortunately, my mic was off at the time, and I didn't realize it until someone in chat pointed it out later. So, here's my thoughts:

I really like the concept of piecing together a story by going through files on a computer. The aesthetic was pretty cool, too. The puzzles weren't too difficult - I figured out what the password for the "Chaos" folder was after the first two clues - but that's not necessarily a bad thing. It was pretty short, and I found myself wanting more at the end, but the content you already have is well polished.

nanda 2021-05-10 17:32

@birdwards Thanks a lot!
