Nice job, I loved the visuals of all the satellites and debris orbiting. Nailed the theme too as it's inevitable there will be a crash.

Nice game, it is an interesting thought of how many satellites and debris is actually floating around out there. The graphics are cool, they create a nice vibe. Great work!
cool game
Pretty fun game! Played a couple times, survived for 57 seconds. The visuals are really impressive. The fact that it's a 3D globe with lights and shadows is cool. I like the O2 and O3 tanks on the side.
The music is a bit harsh on the ears and the camera gets a bit wonky when you fly around the north pole, but otherwise, not much to complain about!
T+43 was my best - I found that at the start you can circle around, but no when there is a ton of stuff floating.
Like how 2D was merged with 3D. Everything inside the monitor looked amazing!
@dennis-magnusson I'm sorry about the music, it was a hastily made track and I was hoping it would be less annoying to those who hadn't listened to it for hours already... Turns out it's not :D
I enjoyed the novel use of moving around on the surface of the Earth. Concur with others about the music grating a bit. Adding a SFX toggle can be a nice quality-of-life inclusion, but it is excusable in a 48-hour jam!
T+42 was my best try. The controls feel good. Agree with other commenters on the music. Maybe it would be better if the music volume was lower? Anyway, solid entry.
Pretty fun game that is kind of a relaxing bullet hell. I love how other satellites and debris can crash into each other. Looks spectacular and fills a function. I had several situations where I thought I was toast just to have other things crash into the obstacle and save me just as I was about to hit it.
Ha, this is cute. Reminds me of an old DOS game or something - huge cosmetic UI taking up a lot of the screen and simple 3D graphics. It's a cool vibe. Fun to see the playfield get filled up with more and more junk and colliding objects as well. Nice controls, nice simple gameplay. Good job.
@defrag @attala A mute button / volume control is a great idea, and probably not too hard to implement, I can't believe I never thought of that. Thanks for the advice! @pdotjpg The 2D UI was added because I didn't want huge empty space on the sides, it could definitely be more subtle though.
The fact that other satellites can crash and break into small pieces is a nice touch. Could use crash SFX though.
Cool game! Looks like there's some gimbal lock when flying near the poles, you could likely solve that by using [quaternions](https://gamedev.stackexchange.com/questions/111051/what-is-a-quaternion) or [rotors](https://marctenbosch.com/quaternions/), but it's not like it's a game breaking problem. Nice work!
@batkoi I thought it might become to overwhelming at the end, when there are near-continuous crashes, but something subtle should probably work fine. @jordwest the camera pole issue happens because it is programmed to always keep the same pole up. I'll have to play around with it, see if that's even necessary.
The huge pixelated HUD and the actual smooth 3D game-window make an odd couple, but this game makes it work somehow.
The controls felt smooth, it was easy to get into, which in turn helps make it fun to play. I don't really care for the music though. (Maybe try something ambient if you really don't have the time for it?)
I really like this game, the "hidden" criticism to space junk gives it an extra thematic point and the gameplay feels very smooth :)
A compo entry... you have my respect. Fun little game, reminds me of an old satellite game that used to be available on old SUSE linux distros where you had to control a satellite and not crash...
T+55s! I enjoyed the unique layout of the game HUD, very creative.
Great Job! The music is great and the setting is very '8-bit cute'. Controls are very well done! The only thing i missed is a explosion sound for when we crash...
Interesting stuff. I like the concept, especially since in reality we're generating a ton of space debris and it's going to be harder to launch things into space and have satellites survive.
Great pixel art style and music. I managed 47 seconds. The difficulty definitely ramps up quickly
The theme is spot on. Best I could do was 40 seconds.
If only we were in control of a satellite owned by an evil mastermind, then we'd have laser to blast other junk out the way and survive longer
Nice work!
Good game and educative. That is the problem with space junk and debris.
I tried a polar orbit the second time, and then tried to follow a passing satellite until it crashed into another and spread debris around. While trying to avoid it, I crashed into unrelated debris.
And then I just had to try again. B-)
I have been playing Kerbal Space Program recently, so it took me a bit to get my mind around non-orbital mechanics, but I still liked how the camera rotated and how I found the dark side of the planet was more dangerous because it was easier to miss what was moving nearby.
I really liked the controls, for the first few seconds I thought the game was going to be too easy, I was wrong haha. T+39 my best, I keep on getting hit by the smaller pieces :D Nice humour too :p
good job !
Good game overall, simple but effective controls. It starts seemingly easy but the influx of debris basically guarantees a crash haha
Great job!
Thanks everyone! @gbgames Kerbal Space Program is probably the reason my mind went to orbit when I heard the theme... I thought about making more realistic when it comes to orbital movement, but even if I'd have the time and knowledge I'm not sure it would have been fun :D
This was fun! I had a hard time staying alive for very long, but that doesn't matter, that's why you can start over :) I like the art style, and the music fits the game, well done!
