Really hard game... I can barely survive 20 seconds per character. Also quite hard to aim with keyboard so that most of my bullets just don't hit.
Anyway, good game!

Anyway, good game!
@lighty-the-light i kinda like the difficulty where it is, after all you only need each character to survive 30 seconds to win. also controller support is there for full 360 aiming (though i prefer the 8 direction version) didnt have time to implement mouse aiming though :( Thanks for feed back!
The game was pretty fun, i didnt realize it would keep going and i could actually survive, which was nice. Definitely something to be proud of.
Super cool stuff, liked the low resolution, gave the game a very nostalgic feel. Great Stuff :D
Go back to work on a raid? Not my kind of sacrifice.
The graphics were well stylized, I liked it a lot. Sounds play their part and provide good feedback on actions.
I think adding a way for me to choose more angles for the shot would be nice, but the way it was programmed had an old school vibe.
It would also be nice if the shots broke the glass, it would give the player more escape options.
The idea of co-workers going up the elevators created a great atmosphere of desperation, very cool.
Congratulations!
Could it be for GNU/Linux? I am so excited to try it!
Hello! At first I didn't like the controllers and the fact that we aim where we move. Finally I understood that I have 3 tries and I have to do the best I can for the total time. This concept is cool! Also the graphics and sounds are reallyyyyyyy great. Maybe a little lack of juice and power on the shot but anyway, great job.
@milq thats a lot of steps to get that going. i need to start learning linux tho and this is a good excuse. if i get it done before the end of the jam i will hit you up
Wow. This game is sooo challenging. I like the horde aspect you have built in here. I don't survive long but I liked the gameplay none the less.
Thanks for sharing this awesome game with us.
@sagiii you can use the arrow keys on the keyboard to aim in 8 directions or use a controller for full 360. but the funny thing is: how you played was the original design until i caved and made extra options. so this is my fav comment so far thanks :D
I love the graphic style. Low rez low poly is my jam.
Love the animations too.
I think it bugged out on my second 'run' after playing through once and then hitting restart. I managed to kill all the zombies on the floor and no more spawned, so the timer just kept going up.
The in game graphics looked great as many people have said, hit the nostalgia marker really well. I liked the concept a lot, and it was fun to play, albeit a little clunky on keyboard. My one suggestion would be to change the menus up a bit so that they match the 3D graphics a little more.
I liked the design of having the time of the 3 first levels affect how long you have to survive in the last level. It made me want to go back and try to figure out which level I could have done better on to make the last level not impossible. It fit really well with the theme. The visual style is neat aswell. I think some rebalancing could be good though, I felt like no matter what I did different I never managed to get past 16 seconds in the first level. Would have been cool if there were more ways to deal with the zombies, like interacting with environment or something. Overall great job :D
Great idea for the theme. The controls are great and overall gamefell feels responsive. There's a couple of times where I could have sworn that my projectiles didn't hit the zombies, but it didn't affect the overall game experience.
The sound effects and the graphics are great, I love the pixely 3d graphics. There was some spelling errors, but they don't really impact the experience alot. This is a really solid core game and there's a lot of potential for expanding more on it. :)
The only time I managed to escape was when the zombies bugged out and stopped coming. This actually happened two times. The first time, I killed everything, the rest of the zombies were stuck, and the timer just kept coming up.
The second time, I made sure I kept some zombies alive in order for them to kill me at the 1m 50s mark.
Basically, I think this game is too difficult, but that is maybe also why it was pretty fun - you kept me engaged long enough to win (although in a buggy way) - so good job!
I found myself almost never using the Dodge action, everything except for my closest proximity was too densely occupied by zombies in order to be useful. Also, I think Dodge went in the direction of shooting, not moving, which made it counter-intuitive to use.
I played with a controller, and I think it is a must in this case. Keyboard controls are clunky and impractical. If you left the aiming for the mouse instead of the arrow keys, it would be pretty playable without the controller. Although I completely get that you didn't have time to do that
Overall, solid and very fun entry, despite some bugs and steep difficulty.
Yeyy, I escaped at third attempt but it's been one hell of a ride! I like the whole minimalistic graphics and zombie's animations, they look very cool and immersive. The quick cutscenes at the start of every round were great as a fast intro to the game. I didn't use dodge a lot since it seems quite tricky, mby it should go in the same direction that character moves? HP bar would be nice addition too. Congratz of finishing the game (AS ALONE WOW)!
So, I own a Valve Index. First off, launching this game makes my SteamVR launch, and from a quick Google search, it seems like there is a plugin somewhere in the UE editor that you should disable unless you're specifically targeting SteamVR, otherwise it will launch as though it's a VR title.
Other than this, the game was pretty fun. I played through a few times, but wasn't ever able to escape (maybe because I'm using keyboard and mouse instead of an analog stick, so my aim isn't as precise as it could have been?)
Still, this was a really gun little game! Great job!
@rubixnoob13 im so sorry for that! unreal only recently made VR disabled by default. i thought this engine version had that, so totally my bad. thanks for the heads up
Difficult game! I really like the style, and how as you die, there are less and less friends in the elevator
I love zombie shooters!
One thing I love about Ludum Dare is how so many games are foundations for what could be a full game. The controls are super responsive and the zombie deaths feel satisfying. I want more types of weapons!
Absolutely loved this one! Had a lot of goes. Found the keyboard movement great, but really hard and couldn't get past 30 seconds a level. When I use the controller I found it a lot easier. On one go on the 2nd level, I managed to clear out all the zombies and they were all stuck on the outside. So I had to restart the game to win the next time. Love the audio and graphics, really simple concept. Awesome effort!
Surprisingly well polished for a jam game. Good job!
Playing with keyboard is quite troublesome (although that I'm playing it with a small keyboard certainly doesn't help either), but I like everything else! I think mouse controls for aiming would improve this quite a lot, but then it could also make it way easier hahaha.
Had fun and liked the style. Kinda difficult to aim but fits the style.
Well, I can live only for 30 sec... I'm not so good in such style of games.
I really have a lot of fun!)))
@gandelianna doesnt matter you couldnt survive, thats the true ending anyway :P
I liked the ps1 graphic style and zombie destroyed VFX! But the restriction of only eight possible directions to shoot makes the experience a bit frustrating, cuz enemies attack you from all directions! :) Anyway, I could stand for 20+ seconds) good job!
I played "yet another zombie defense" for long hours and I wish you used mouse for aim too, right now I can only survived 20 sec in each level when doing pacifist run its around 16-17 secs .d so having a machinegun doesn't make that much of a difference for me. Other than that I enjoyed it! huge congrats making it within 72hours
This was a lot of fun! I love the gameplay concept and thought the visuals worked really well too. Great submission, well done!
a fairly nice entry; The low-poly style graphics were rather neat, the controls felt nice, however the game was a bit laggy for me.
I want more squichy effects and a shotgun! Aiming was hard but I got used to it, and then everyone died. Such is life. Really like the squishy blood goops when your character for some reason explodes the entire map!
Can't go wrong with a robotron shooter! This was pretty fun! The only thing I would recommend is instead of having the spacebar shoot, that you just shoot with the arrow keys, like in the robotron joystick.
A fun entry with a cool gameplay! The artstyle was also really cool. Also: one person? how? You are insane (in a good way) :D Great work!
Great game - I find the VFX quite good and the whole mood is properly set. It was quite hard getting used to aiming with the keyboard - mouse support is definitely something to implement for your next games (if you decide to go Top-Down again).
I respect the fact that you are an one-man-army so I boosted my scores a bit :)
