Hey, nice game! One addition I could think of is different endings, linked to your final tallies for instance, or maybe a different event based on the resolution to a previous one. Also, I'm an advocate for having a clear QUIT button in the game, and I couldn't find one in yours.

Very fun game! I gave it some tries to find an optimal strategy, the best result I got was 72 68 70 77, by mostly summoning advisors that resulted in all-positive outcomes (where possible).

Got very immersed in trying to find the best outcomes. I like how you had prepared outcomes for all the combinations of advisors and scenarios, that made exploring them exciting. The art and sound effects worked well too, I liked the voice clips that play when you select an advisor a lot. Great job!

Somehow this gave me a King's Quest vibe. I think something like this could be expanded into a politics simulation game. Nice work! :)

Smart and fun take on the theme! I had some good chuckles when doing terrible choices :D Would love to see some more connection between the events and story-wise consequences for choices

- nice advisor voices - simple but effective graphics - I guess the only thing I can complain about is that I'd want more. Maybe also making choices feel more meaningful, for example I sent the queen to the dragon, maybe when kidnapped she wouldn't come back, or maybe she would be unavailable for the next event as she is "occupied" by being rescued.

I definitely want more, but what's there is nice!

I really love this game's vibe and mechanics, it has a feel similar to a game called "Reigns" where you also make decisions as a monarch, with a few more prompts and the prompts being random this can be a really good resource management game, well done!

I loved the varied and unexpected scenarios... My first playthrough felt really straightforward, "pick the one that does the thing in this circumstance". But my second playthrough I picked different ones and was really surprised and entertained by some of them, especially with the jester.

The only thing I'd suggest is ending the game by helping the player know what kind of impact their choices had. Maybe just display your ending points just so we can see them, that would help a lot

Great work! I really liked it

Excellent submission! I can't believe you were able to include so many permutations of activities in such a way that seemed fluid. The art is effective, music is good, story is engaging, and it's a unique and successful endeavor. Also as far as I'm concerned, I got the correct ending, the church has been forgiven for far too long

Anyway, great game! I loved seeing all the different outcomes to every problem, and ended up replaying it plenty of times just to see every outcome and try getting the best/worst possible scores. The graphics and voice acting (alongside most of the jester options) were also pretty funny. It would've been nice to see some sort of summery screen - or even different endings - based on your path, as right now the game ends rather abruptly. But I assume you ran out of time for such a thing. Overall, really nice entry!

Lots of potential here. The dialogue and the concept of managing stats were both a lot of fun. I just wish there had been some amount of overall consequence or reward.

Good writing and results on the different choices!

I think the font choice on the texts are hurting the game as it is difficult to read it. I'd suggest keeping the old styled font for the titles but using something simpler for the bulk of the text.

Could be nice to have some ending text that summarizes what happened to your kingdom based on your final score.

Think there is a typo at the end of the "raiders come" text with "dilema".

Very good visual choice. The important elements contrast nicely with the background. Great card design. The mix of card game and action game works well. I didn't fully understand the tutorial at first, but by testing, you automatically understand how to play. However, some feedback is missing, like mana consumption, which could completely replace the need for a tutorial. Good job!

Super cool, really funny, and on-theme! I like it a lot.

I had this idea and you did it! Thank you! It is hard to read text in this font and colors and I didn't undersatnd, what is in the end.

mlists 2024-04-26 05:41

I enjoyed the game, it would have been good to have endings perhaps depending on the points you have at the end. Otherwise the font was a little hard to read. Good job.

This was fun (and funny)! :) Took a while to go through and explore all the options. Was a little unsure about the differences between the general and the sergeant at first, but realised accidentally later that there were tooltips, so would be good to mention those in the description.

The way you wrote it, playing many times was also fun in that you got to see things in a new light, like seeing what the bishop had to say about the assassination after learning from the sarge that the church was behind it.

No perfect route without any minuses, correct? Also seemed like the sarge wasn't the best option for anything? Still really cool how you took the time to figure out what each character would do in each situation. Fair amount of work for compo! The voice acting was a lot of fun too. I only wish I got to see more of the king, as the text box was covering him a bit :')

Agree with others that the font was a bit hard to read (maybe should've used it only for the titles and a more standard serif for the rest) but overall I liked the UI, like the hover effect on the cards.

Nicely done!

Nice idea. Sound effects made me chuckle, simple but effective. A pity events don't shuffle randomly, also it seems like only the final choice matters in the end. With a little more content and some polishing this could become a really good little game!
