Fun game! Wish there were some kind of walls or cover rather than having all combat happen in totally open spaces, but the ramp up of enemy variety/difficulty as the game progresses is really good!
Fun game, and given the time constraint I'm impressed with how thorough the tutorial was, maybe a bit text-heavy but at least it was all in-game (some of the other entries I had to keep switching back and forth between the game and the entry page to try to figure out what was going on). Nice work!
@ausstein argh I'm sorry, none of us who worked on the game use windows so we weren't able to test that build, I just tried posting a new version but haven't been able to verify whether it works or not. Will reach out to some PC friends and let you know when we have a confirmed working windows build. Thank you for the comment! We did not know that build was broken and will try to fix.
The art is fantastic! I get so burnt out on pixel art, especially in game jams, the hand-drawn/painted look here is so refreshing. Good music too.
Very original take on the theme, nice work!
Nice challenge! Tricky but feels good to play.
This is great! The upgrades are impactful and satisfying, and the sparse but deliberate soundtrack is really effective, reminds me of the original Metroid.
I really liked how the submarine had inertia, made it feel really substantial. The light mechanic was a nice touch too, although I think it would have worked a lot better if it illuminated the area you can harvest - it was faster to harvest materials by looking for the shapes and not even bothering to illuminate them first.
Great game! The vibe reminded me of Adventure on the 2600. Really original take on the theme, and I liked the soundtrack too.
This has the bones of a really great game. Took me a few dives to properly understand the mechanics and work out how to optimize my moves, but it was actually satisfying figuring all that out. I wanted more upgrade options and a deck building element but the core mechanic is a lot of fun. Nice work!
Nice work! The control scheme felt a little weird to me (I was expecting W/up to jump in a sidescroller and wanted a keyboard attack button) but I really liked the character art and boss encounter!
Great work! Took me a while go figure out what I needed to do but it was nice exploring and figuring that out without hand-holding. The creature designs are fun and I really like the music changing in different areas.
Fantastic artwork! Fun concept although the countdown timer seemed a bit at odds with the otherwise chill vibe. I wonder if it could have worked to have the time limit be more abstract based on distance driven and ringing the doorbell vs drop off rather than a real time measurement constantly pressuring you to click on the next thing as quickly as possible. Still, great game!
Really well executed, great job making a game you can jump into and have fun with immediately, and learn the finer points as you go.
Fun concept, throwing businessmen at cultists is really amusing, and I like the clean graphics. Not using W to jump seems odd though.
Love the art style and music. Once I figured out how the game worked I found myself mostly just looking at the minimap and ignoring the rest of the screen until I got to a delivery, which is a shame because the the artwork is so good. I wonder if it would have worked to get rid of the minimap and just have an arrow pointing in the direction of your objective.
Very fun and polished game, love the music and voiceovers!
Fantastic game! Easy to understand and really nailed the fun factor, very well executed.
Fun concept but the asteroids were really hard to avoid, I never made it past the second area. It would be nice if jumping also repaired your ship.
Fun game, dig the GB vibe, wish there was more!
Really fun! I especially liked that the feedback on your choices were these fun little epilogues rather than just a right/wrong indicator.
Great art style, music, and general vibe. Also well done making sure the game has an actual ending, easy to run out of time during game jams!
Fantastic! Love the art style, and really creative take on the summoning theme.
Really fun, actually reminded me of "engine building" board games where early on you're working to build capacity and then have to decide when to sprint to the end.
Really creative concept & gameplay!
Wow, amazing amount of content for such a short time frame, and still it all fit together well. Took me a little while to figure out what was going on (e.g. the drafting system) but made more sense the longer I played. Great work!
Fun to see the summoning circle get more complex as the game goes on. Really well done!
Fun concept, really enjoyed the Frankenstein creations!
Nice, don't think I've seen a Portal/Missile Command mashup before. Love the hand drawn art!
Fun concept! I could imagine harder levels where you need to learn "recipes" and hit the right candles at the right times from memory.
Wish you could see the whole game area without scrolling (there were already enough other things to keep track of) but fun concept!
Great length and challenge level for a game jam. Nice work!
I really like the music fading in & out depending on where you are.
Really fun game, although I wish the mechanics were explained, I never quite figured out how some of the tools worked or what the different colors in the grid meant.
Really creative and well executed!
Wow, didn't realize how harsh the "noise" was going to come off! It's actually all just various manipulations of the music track (though admittedly, manipulations deliberately designed to be cacophonous).
@richard-baltrusch that's a good idea, I really like the levels starting out with just static but being able to have an intermittent radar-like pulse could give players a useful reference point that might make the very beginning less frustrating.
Interesting concept and really enjoyable to play, great work!
There's got to be an Invader Zim Easter egg in there somewhere, right?
Loved the artwork & music, but once there were no more markings on the back of the photos I had no idea how to order them. Started watching the walkthrough but it didn't explain the logic behind the solutions. Great mood though!
I embraced the cult.
How do you build turrets?
Really fun game, definitely one of the most enjoyable to play! I guess when there's no more next level button that's the end?
