This is such an awesome concept, the second level took me a bit to isolate all the signals as I found myself moving back and forth between the different shapes trying to figure out which one was the problem.
I will say - this game in particular was in pretty desperate need of a SFX slider - I know the dissonance is part of the game but it was super rough on my ears that I had to turn down my computer volume by about 50% haha.
Very unique idea. Little rough on the ear and head, got a bit of a headache but I won! I think a very gentle white noise to slowly filling in different hertz ranges of a pleasant song would have taken this to the next level.

Very nice concept! I must say it's mostly the visuals that helped, but at the same time it was satisfying to get the audio feedback as well!
Good job!

Interesting concept, but I have to agree little bit agressive on ears. Good luck!
Wow, didn't realize how harsh the "noise" was going to come off! It's actually all just various manipulations of the music track (though admittedly, manipulations deliberately designed to be cacophonous).

Interesting idea! I take some time to figure out the mechanic, when I comprehended this game I found the joy! It's a unique game I have played.
Ook, this is a fun idea. I'm sure another small twist or two could make this compelling across a handful of additional levels. I didn't mind the aural experience, I thought it was intuitive and important for the game feel!

Cool concept! I found myself assuming that the hardest place to steer toward with the color must be the endpoint 😄 At the start of each run, though, I was a bit confused since I couldn’t see my marker at all and had to press random inputs until it became slightly visible.
Cool game ! The main mechanic is really original and fun, the game is also easy to play.
Good job
Unique gameplay and really well done realization. The main idea is clever and I like the simplicity of this project. Top ++
Fun game! The only issue I had is that at the start, there’s no way to know what’s happening, so you have to mash the movement buttons to randomly find a bit of signal.

Great execution of an interesting idea! Initially it's a bit difficult to know if anything is happening, some feedback on movement even when far away would be good, I think. And when controlling multiple shapes it might be good to have an indicator which is selected.

Oh I was really getting into it and then the game ended! That's fair of course, it's a COMPO game, what I mean is that I was sat ready to play more and more and then was sad it ended xD
At first, I was confused. The white noise was overwhelming, I pressed WASD and all and didn't notice anything happening. I made my computer sound lower and concentrated on the game again. This time the noise didn't feel TOO overwhelming and I started feeling hypnotized, looking at the gray static. And just as I was entering a meditative state, suddenly my vision started clearing!
It seems the music was becoming more and more melodic as static faded slowly. But I have to admit I was relying mostly on that visual cue.
I liked the progression from level to level. Other symbols, the labyrinth; the mechanic with the differently coloured walls.
The hardest part was the beginning of every level. I have to say I was just pressing buttons for a while, imagining the symbol going down right or up left etc. And waiting patiently for it to appear. I was trying to rely on sound cues more but I didn't want to make it too loud because the static hurt my brain when I tried playing it louder.
It was very very enjoyable and something very beautiful you made here, thank you for the game, I had fun! It was relaxing, meditative, pretty and - other than the very start of the levels - easy to understand :)
Really cool game idea - haven't seen anything like it before and fits very well with the theme.
While the white noise visuals are obviously a part of it, I found it difficult to stare at it trying to see if anything happens, so, like others have pointed out, some better auditory or visual feedback would be nice to locate your shape better, for example being able to send a circular radar-type signal around that slowly fades out, or a pulsating spatial sound sourced from the shape.
I enjoyed it, great entry!

wow, quite a unique idea and implementation! i am tone-deaf, so i mainly focused on visual noise. the music itself is a bit aggressive and makes me get anxious x) but i still think it's an interesting and unique mechanic that could be developed further! good job!
@richard-baltrusch that's a good idea, I really like the levels starting out with just static but being able to have an intermittent radar-like pulse could give players a useful reference point that might make the very beginning less frustrating.
I’m impressed by how you managed to design this game in just two days. Yes, it’s simple, but I think it’s very well made. With a bit more time, this could turn into a really entertaining puzzle game, since you already have the core mechanics and there’s a lot of potential for some very interesting ideas.
Congratulations! :tv:
