Those are some cool and innovative mechanics. Wish the controls were a bit more comfortable, like 1234 instead of shift zxc. But the game is still great.
This game is great! Could use some music and a bit of screenshake, but still great overall. Certainly well done with enemies!
That was a very spooky horror game. Couldn't have made it if it weren't for that lazy but brave boss.
The game got really fun once I got the hang of it. A very well thought-out puzzle game.
Very well made and original. I'm curious, you've opted out of graphics, are those sprites from some other game of yours? They look really nice.
Bless those kitties. When it got hard to navigate I thought "I wish there were animals to reverse the effect" and there they were. Fantastic job!
I actually started panicking at some point. Good job with that! Could be an even cooler game with different layouts and story progressing.
Couldn't get past third level, guess I'm getting fired for being too slow. An interesting take on "tetris". Nice voice acting.
I don't know if it was a bug or two swimmers overlapping, but at some point I ran over a guy and he got on a boat at the same time.
Those sounds are hilarious though. Am I experienced enough to buy a boat now?
@evanm @suve yeah, when I saw the theme during the voting my very first idea was a literal space shoot-em-up where you have less and less screen space over time. Didn't want to do anything too crazy for my first jam.
@jay-elbourne actually the high score only saves when you exit through the door, and not when you die. Guess a bad design choice on my side
Thank Mr. Skeletal for good bones and calcium
Wow, this is one of the best games I've played yet.
There are some cool little details, like hitting the walls and ceiling, or enemies dying to spikes, which all counts towards the achievos. The level design is amazing. Got to level 4 in like half an hour and had to restart because it became pretty much unplayable. Then got to it again in 5 minutes and it still was hard to see. I'm gonna try to beat it later.
Farming Simulator 2019 looking fresh
That was so cute and innocent I expected it to turn into a horror game. Didn't happen, oh well.
Loved the art.
Wow I did not expect that. Not a lot of boss fights this jam, so that one was actually a good twist.
I might have played too much Super Metroid before, because I actually liked the wall jumping here. Even managed to break the game with it. Still a good unreleased NES game.

Those love triangles are too realistic.
Was just sleeping and coding the entire time, pretty accurate representation of what happened
@davedoublee W lets you drain health in the zone around the character, and you probably died because spells you cast can kill you. And those aren't demons, those are poor innocent bulls who lost their front limbs due to some magic shenanigans :ox:
@aycan thanks, I was making the controls with the gamepad in mind, but then forgot to put an actuall gamepad support in the game :ram:
@raphael-maia I've spent like an hour trying to balance the HP costs, HP received by Drain, enemy damage and received SP, so that it wouldn't be either too easy or straight up impossible. Ended up just making infinite mode where spells cost less.
@codekim thank you, I've just added downloadable Windows version that's a bit easier
@codekim sure, go ahead
@justalocalhero I agree with all of your points. Jump and Drain should ignore enemies, and character's animations should've been a bit faster. The compo was ending at 5 a.m. for me, and by the midnight I was too tired to think straight and keep polishing the game.
Thanks for the feedback.
@ytaha wow, this might actually work as a party game, didn't think about that. Maybe I'll turn it into something later.
Those background fires are too scary
I'm sorry I'm not up to your standards Gorth, it's not like I have a car or something that could GAS.
Yep, now I want a tribal Warcraft 3. Cool concept.
What a great game, gave me some RimWorld vibes. Fought two people, one of them survived, the other died with -30 HP. So I kept turning everyone else who died into crystals just to resurrect that -30 person, and got everyone in the party killed before I could.
I'm gonna keep playing this.
Is this The Dark Souls of Ludum Dare?
There should've been some kind of audio or visual cue that the enemies or the character takes damage. Good concept though.
Aww, what a cute little game
This could make a good mobile game, I liked it
That was really soulful! Mage OP, better magic system than Elden Ring
I'm bad at quick maths, but this was fun
I've had a really good time :full_moon_with_face:
What's the lore of the little guys turning into a coffee? Who are they? Does that work in real life as well? :thinking:
This game says a lot about our society...
That's not a mouse, it's a racecar!
I NEED THIS AS A FULL GAME rex.png
Press Z to meow is my new favorite game mechanic
@anxiousgamedev Yeah, when a character dies, the game plays a sound and tries to switch to another character, and if just one remains, you still get a chance to collect some resources and rebuild broken ones at the station.
:sweat: I completely forgot about the restart button, I guess the workaround would be to pause the game (on Esc), go back to menu and start again, then pause and unpause again.
@codsalmon thanks! You're right, I missed the bug where characters sometimes can stop moving when others die, I'll try to fix it. Your optimal strategy is pretty much intended :full_moon_with_face:
@stesproject appreciate it :smile:
@bosco thank you! My camshake is very glitchy and doesn't trigger most of the time (including when you get hurt), I'll look into it. The endgame can be speed up by the strategy @codsalmon mentioned :new_moon_with_face:
Literally me at work (I also may or may not be a pink haired anime girl punching holes in flour products)
Imma become a Global Elite in CSGO in no time with this game
This is too real, man
I indeed had fun
Yay!

If there was a way to choose between 2 or 3 random towers when combining, instead of getting a completely random one, it would open up a lot of ways to plan and strategize while still keeping the element of randomness.
Still liked it a lot!
A dream job
I loved it and want it to be longer!
I liked it! Throwing the boxes turned out pretty fun when I learned how to do it. The animations are nice too.
The level with one vertical gap in the middle does have a bug where the boxes get lost after hitting the walls at the edges of the screen, and it even happens right at the starting conveyor when there are too many boxes and they push each other to the right.

I loved it and I want more. Love the simpsons aesthetic, the messed up controls and the level design. Please make more levels!
I've played a few games where you shoot babies this LD, but for some reason this poor birb's death animation feels more brutal than any of those.
Good job!
The game's pretty fun, I got carried away just a little tiny bit
b.png
I was mesmerized by the shapes wasted Helium-3 made while flying into outer space :)
My right hand hurts and I want more
This is my favorite videogame adaptation of Lost Highway
This was fun! Keyboard controls didn't register sometimes, but the gamepad worked fine.
This was very good, especially the voice acting

If this is what fruits do to my insides, I'm never eating a fruit in my life
The game was very relaxing, then I got to 16k, looked at the time and lost because of panic lol
This did make me feel like Jeff Bezos
Unfortunately, at some point a drone got stuck between two buildings and couldn't move, so the game soft locked. Seems like something that happens to amazon drones, so I didn't mind it.

Hell yeah drunk mode made me drunk for real, thanks
@jakeblake Thank you! I've fixed the jumping physics, so it should be more consistent now.
@kontroman @glove Thanks! I've increased the glow on umbrellas in a downloadable version, hopefully they'll be more noticeable now
@ick thanks!
@candlesan thank you! The pixelation is a scaled down render texture applied to the camera, there's a bunch of tutorials for it on youtube
@soloadventurergames @ollie-d thanks!
@pizzasgood lmao I didn't catch that in development, let's just call it a feature
@strangeryann thanks a lot! Some of the taller buildings require a bit of precision jumping, where you have to use the dash for extra height. Different dialogues was the idea from the start, I also wanted to add different voices and portraits, but ran out of time to implement it. Glad you liked it :)
@gmaker @dusho @fidrik @twaerd @antonin-browne thank you!
@gametrodon thanks! I realized that dying was too punishing after the jam already finished, so I couldn't implement something like checkpoints. Maybe I'll turn this game into something more and consider everyone's advice here.
@piano-forte hmm, maybe it was caused by a gamepad? I couldn't replicate it. Thank you for the feedback!
@piano-forte don't worry about it, happy to help :)
@synthol thank you!
@nazorus hehe, yeah, I usually brainstorm ideas during the final voting round, and some of those end up overlapping and merging when the theme is announced. Thank you!
@arthur-sorignet-gautrot thanks! It's all low poly models and a render texture that makes the screen super low res. For the character I used rigify, and for the umbrella I made two basic bones, one is attached to the character's hand, and the other is used to animate switching from one shape key to another. The rain and the enemies are particles, the water is one big plane with a shader.
@matt-green thank you! Modeling everything, scripting and animating the character and the enemies took most of my time, the rest of it was hacked together with a bunch of bad code and duct tape, the music and the menu I managed to squeeze in at the last second. My body hurt the day after I was done lol
@pincushion @satacat @yumykon @caeonosphere thank you!
Yayy I found the hat
It's a very fun tower-like, I did indeed enjoy the pizza
I liked the cyberpunk style and the music, but even in the 1.6 version my gpu was under constant 100% load, just like with Cyberpunk 2077, so I couldn't really get the feel for the controls in slow-mo
I'm a sucker for freeform exploration, and this was well done! If the map text was more readable, I could've even used a mode where you don't have a tracker and have to find the destination point by yourself too.
Hope you release it on itch with audio and stuff
Nooooooooooo give me a refund I want my soul back :cry:
POWAH.png
bababa ba babababa babab (I liked it a lot)
This is the best game I've played so far this jam, you guys are amazing
I bow to your raincloud's superiority
Good job with the visuals, animation and music!
Sadly, after the first part with the hooks in the air, I got into a room with a couple of doors, couldn't open either of them, and after reloading I'm just stuck in a room with one locked door.
This is now my favorite videogame adaptation of The Boondock Saints
The dialogues are a nice touch. Good entry for a first time!
I feel like my iq increased by a couple of points by the level 3 and level 5 solutions
