Nice concept! The achievements filling up your screen is a very good take on the theme! The platforming itself is a little hard to control though ^^

Interesting Concept! Really liked this one, I wanna try to get all the achievements!
Nice game. I liked the graphics, and the game ran fairly smoothly on the web. However, I wish the jump controls were a little less floaty. Overall, pretty fun, and thank you for making it.
Wow, this is one of the best games I've played yet.
There are some cool little details, like hitting the walls and ceiling, or enemies dying to spikes, which all counts towards the achievos. The level design is amazing. Got to level 4 in like half an hour and had to restart because it became pretty much unplayable. Then got to it again in 5 minutes and it still was hard to see. I'm gonna try to beat it later.
Really cute art. Wish I knew what the achievements were. Love the interpretation of the theme though. I do wish gravity was a bit stronger. The jumping feels "floaty" which makes it hard to land on people's heads. Great sprite art.
At first I was gonna knock points for how awkward the physics are, but the more I played the more I realized that was part of the charm. Very reminiscent of brutal learn as you play games like I Want to Be The Guy, but with an interesting added dimension. Graphics were fun and quirky. Charmingly frustrated game. Incredible quality, especially for a compo game. After about an hour of playing I finally decided to give myself a rest and close out of it, but this is definitely a game I could see myself playing again and again. Good job.
Holy gravity! Took some getting used to the jumping physics here. Cool idea though, excellent take on the theme.
nice platforming jumpping is quite hard pretty cool graphics
Very slippery platformer controls make the game really annoying to actually play. There's an argument to be made for difficult and speedy physics but if you played a game like super meat boy you can see that you can achieve that and still give the player the feeling that they're in control - which this game doesn't feel like yet.
The concept is interesting though only purely cosmetic. I don't really get how the making everything bigger powerup is relevant to running out of space. Making the screen completely impossible to see eventually... I just don't see the appeal, or challenge. Is the challenge to not get achievements as you progress? Is that even possible? Maybe? But it's not clear as you don't know what gives you the achievements so you don't know what to avoid. Getting to know them through repeat plays might work but that's not really satisfying as it is right now.
Interesting ideas, maybe they could go further, hope you get to further the core mechanics!
i agree with everyone here, the jumping is annoying, the control quite slippery, but also not too bad, i like the concept of gathering achievement, remind me of DLC quest, but is it only for the sake of gathering?, i also like the art it help alot

Good game, one of the best for today. How many achievements of all?
Too ordinary. sorry
I actually found the jumping mechanism fine. The slow falling let me do things like position my char to jump on monsters better and get over gaps - something I appreciate a lot as someone who doesn't usually like platformers. I wish some of achievements were a little clearer, so I can see what I "did right". The achievements can also be a good way to add extra humour, like in the game "Achievement unlocked". The sound effects are nice!
There is something incredibly meta in the fact that you can't stop collecting those shiny coins even if they indirectly damage you. Or maybe that's just me.
A really creative take on the theme! You clearly put a lot of thought into level design in a way that complements the achievements, that coin trap near the beginning of level 3 was especially devilish. I never managed to make it past level 4, that was always when the third bottom row of achievements would fill up and I had to restart the game. I'm just not good enough at platformers and/or avoiding coins. Either way, amazing what you made of the 48 hours of the compo, great job!
Great interpretation of the theme! I've enjoyed playing it, but imprecise controls annoyed me a lot!
Took me a while to see how you implemented the theme - then I got it!.
I personally think you got the controls right. Yes they are floaty but with the way the levels are, they need to be floaty. Its all to familar but I enjoyed the game loads.
It would be nice to see what achievements you got - or have a description of them when you clikc them etc... The pics give you a clue but im not 100% certain.
Overall, a fun entry.
i love the idea, although it'd be hilarious if the achievements started taking up more of the screen to fit the theme better
I love how you interpreted the theme! I just wish you could know which achievements they were.
Apart from the (already mentioned) jumping - The interpretation of the theme was great! I hated this poor little man for his achievements!
Nice idea for the theme, gameplay itself is very basic, and so is the visuals/audio. still plays fine!
interesting idea. the game play could be more polished even if its not important. may be fall faster.
good luck
Love the idea of overcollecting achievements, and the basic platformer is a fun way to present it. On the other hand I found the controls a bit too slippery, and restarting over and over got very repetitive. It would have been better with checkpoints, lives, or some way to continue the exploration of the map. Also I felt a bit aimless: should I try to get all achievements or explore the map, and why am I even doing this?
Overall nice concepts and implementation!
An excellent concept, a brilliant execution. I just wish the jumping was less clunky.
Overachiver, took me a while to get that one :) Very well thought out take on the theme. Was really fun to play. I would prefer a jump mechanics where you can controll the jump height by holding down a button. Other than that i enjoyed myself quite a bit. Nice game!
Nice concept with the achievements crowding the screen.
The jumping was bit too floaty for my tastes.
You, sir and/or madam, are a being of only the most pure and despicable evil. By which I mean, this was pretty fun. I managed to beat it with my screen completely filled up, but only with a lot of cursing. The next time I'm inked in Mario Kart, I think I might find it refreshing by comparison. My only real complaint is the antialiased scaling. Otherwise, this was pretty great.
I love this concept! I definitely wanted to fill up my whole screen with achievements, but I "only" got 72 before I called it quits on level 3. - For a platformer like this I think it's important that the controls are really tight and feel fast. In this game I'm really floaty, both because I can't do any "low" jumps (by just tapping) and because I spend too much time in the air. With the single-hit deaths, it became sorta frustrating. Checkpoints would have made it ok, too, but tight controls are the best! - I get that there's only 48 hours in the weekend, but it would have been nice if there was a more creative assortment of achievements! Most everything is just do some game event X times. Having them come with a little explanation would help make that more fun. Overall, I had fun playing this!
Controls felt a little bit wonky, but other than that the game feels very nice.
I'm not that good at platformers, so I actually want to know - are there really so many achievement that they hide all the screen? Wow! And is there's achievement for the pacifist run?
The idea is original, and the achievements are hilarious. Good job !
The platforming controls are a little floaty, but its still a doable challenge, just that the levels feel like they drag on for too long and there's quite a bit of trial and error with the leaps of faith. Nice concept though and the screen filling up with achievements was a nice laugh while making it more challenging, and being big somehow makes everything all zoomed in and much more difficult to navigate which is interesting.
Love the style and it's a great take on the theme. It would be interesting to see the achievements linked directly with the gameplay in some way. And sharper controls would be better.
very good game! i played a lot and loved! congrats for this amazing work.
Hey there! This game was played on www.twitch.tv/arjendesign just now! Fun game!
Fantastic concept! It was pretty funny to play through and had a lot of content for a compo game! Shame it has no music, since a simple but not too repetitive bgm would have made the die & retry difficulty for level 3 onward feel less present (immersion contributes to player patience). Besides that I felt that collisions with enemies were not very accurate, as there were times where I should have stomped and died, or vice-versa. Really cool game, well done!
Note: I had to launch it with Opera, as on Firefox and Palemoon (firefox fork) it was stuck on the loading screen (respectively 92 and 72%).
A nice concept, I like the small sprites!
I really enjoyed this. Simple and challenging. I played for much longer than I expected and was left wanting more.
Cool concept! Maybe the jump is a bit big, but is funny :)
I like the premise. It controls a little bit funky though.
I liked the game and the fact that you made it without an engine. The Jump didn't feel that great. I was hoping for something that felt like I had more control.
I don't think I understood the "Big" version. Was it simply an extra life?
Overall I think you have a decent 1st draft. I hope you keep working on it.
Got to level 4, then I had too many achievements to progress as easily. The platforming was very floaty which made it hard for me to determine exactly when I would land. Since the game relies on obfuscation I would think of ways to keep the game more interesting- perhaps you need to die more to lose achievements, or maybe getting more achievements also makes the platforming easier but the game becomes harder to see. So there's some benefit/trade-off going on to make it more interesting. Otherwise good job, keep up the good work!
Amazing concept! The only problem is that the jump was a bit floaty, other than that, great game!
Very clever use of the theme! I'm sorry some of the commenters seemed not to understand it. That's the most outside-the-box, but completely fitting, use of the theme that I've seen. I thought the controls were fine, but it's frustrating to take so long (because of slow falling and starting over a LOT). But the slow falling was helpful for me as a not-very-good-platform-jumper, so I can't complain. Mostly I just die a lot which is my fault!
It didn't wind up as fun to play, since the gameplay itself is a plain standard platformer and nothing else to give interest. The unique thing is the acheivement hoard, which is more frustrating than fun. Still, I enjoyed seeing the clever idea even though it's not a game I wanted to play very long.
The idea is good, the only thing I missed is a little bit of dedication controlling the character, I wanted to watch the list of achievements after the game over screen just to read about what does it means each of them.
Love that game! I really like the fact that you run out of space by having achievement! maybe you could improve the number of achievement because it took a while to finish the first square and begin the second :)
Like too the fact that having a second life makes you run out of space and so it becomes complicated to keep it ^^
Really great compo game congrats !!
What a cute game :) Nice graphics! Well done
I found this little game very fun and original! I really loved the sound effects and the minimalist graphic style in pixel art! I think more gameplay possibilities would make this game even better as well as some improvements in jump height and speed. Also, the idea of hiding the screen with icons makes the experience really interesting and innovative! Great job! :)
By the way please feel free to leave us some feedbacks on our game!
hey just played you game. thanks for submitting.
pretty cool and funny! the artstyle is sweet and the level design is awesome and very challenging. i love the different icons for the achievements (but there were some that i can't figure out, lol. maybe if there was a short text description?). the platforming is excellent though it's kinda hard to kill the enemies because the character falls really slow, but nothing that can't be fixed by a small tweak. it would be great if there was like a checkpoint where you can deposit your achievements (or at the end of every level) so that you can continue playing and not make it a game where you are doomed to fail (like a lot of games submitted this LD). I think the appeal in this game is the different achievement you get for doing the simplest thing. great game!
Clever use of the theme! Well done! Thanks for sharing your game with my stream awhile back. Your game was played around 3:42 into this vod: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/299401837
