LD53 — Delivery

Nuclear Hammer by ciderpunk 2023-05-03T17:50:13Z

Had a nice bit of fun with this and the aesthetic is quite original. I just wish there were a visible counter of the amount of students left to go. I imagine this must be a very satisfying game to play if you're a parent or a teacher...I'm neither and I enjoyed hammering those Russian dolls!

Multiverse Delivery Inc. by yoanndeplo 2023-05-04T21:33:12Z

I agree with the other commenters on enemy placement - my personal strategy was to stack all allies in a single group so they would rip the nearest opponent to shreds and take on the rest of the enemies as one big wave. Maybe having individual tiles spread around the map for units rather than large zones would help with the strategy element? Another minor complaint is the "move to next location" sound is WAY too loud and made me turn the volume way down. Pas si mal pour un jeu fait en 48h ;)

Neverending PetriChore by snakemuho 2023-05-04T21:57:37Z

Impeccable vibes! Love the lo-fi graphics and the rainy atmosphere. I ended up getting frustrated because I wanted to explore but kept getting bothered and ultimately killed by the balls of lightning which can't be ignored. Speaking for myself, I think the game, with its wonderful atmosphere, would have worked better as straight-up exploration. I also experienced a bug all through the game where the camera would keep drifting to the right, which definitely isn't coming from my mouse (this is on the Windows version). Pressing Esc resolves it, and then it comes back after a few seconds. Really odd!

Neverending PetriChore by snakemuho 2023-05-05T04:15:37Z

@snakemuho ...nevermind, I'm stupid. Yes, definitely a gamepad issue. Sorry for wasting your time there!

Hot Dog Rescue by Roolow 2023-05-04T20:57:59Z

Cute ending! Took me about 20 attempts because I couldn't find the right path to drop the ice cube without having to slalom between the rocks (therefore breaking the cube). So it was a fun little challenge and the dog was a nice incentive to keep trying :)

Culling Cards by picross 2023-05-06T17:37:45Z

I really liked the look of the 3D environments and the general retro feel, I thought that was great. I think I ended up dying close to the end but as others mentioned, the game started to feel quite samey by then so I didn't feel the urge to try again.

Final Delivery by PatateNouille 2023-05-05T20:22:47Z

Wow, fantastic game! The Terminator-like interface is very well-presented and I thought the writing was incredibly funny (although the voices were a bit quiet compared to the music). The deadpan AI delivery actually enhanced the material imo.

Had a nice chill time with this. I loved the world and the atmosphere - like the others, I'm curious as to how you managed the world generation aspect. The flickering (presumably from overlapping geometry) was a little distracting but completely manageable. Unfortunately it seems the bees suddenly stopped spawning and collecting pollen at some point. I had 4/5 flowers discovered and a full foraging list, but no pollen got collected so I had to quit out. But no matter, I got to experience the core of the game and really enjoyed it. :)

Other minor bugs (hehe): the camera goes crazy when pointing the bee upwards 90°, and the Maximum Bees upgrade button does nothing in the tutorial section.

Codename: STORK by Matt Green 2023-05-02T21:46:01Z

I gave you 5 starts in the audio department just for the duck noises. A fun little management game, and I really like the effort you put into the post-$10,000 ending. Side note, the "Back to Main" button at the very end doesn't seem to respond to any input so I had to quit out (web version).

Delivery! NYC by Obe Dot 2023-05-03T21:44:52Z

That's the kind of surreal I can get behind! I wish the draw distance went a lot farther and the sound effects weren't so loud, but the overall experience was trippy in the right way.

Lifesaver by piano_forte 2023-05-02T21:55:22Z

Guys thank you so much for pointing this out! What a noob  I've reuploaded the Windows .exe with the missing pck file and I've tested that it works now so you should be able to play!

@digx7 @obe-dot @freakman @ciderpunk see my above comment (sorry, very new to this whole thing!)

Lifesaver by piano_forte 2023-05-03T16:58:39Z

@ciderpunk I can't say I've made it that far, but I also barely had time to playtest this thing! I've pushed a small bugfix for the mouse issue, thanks for highlighting that!

Lifesaver by piano_forte 2023-05-04T03:38:57Z

@roolow Haha, this is something I wrestled with actually. I ultimately decided against making the origin of the ammo this explicit, because that could be offensive to people who may have gone through this, and would have clashed with the patients' dialogue, which is all about how the experience affected them. So I've gone with "video game magic" but this is certainly open to interpretation. Thanks for the positive feedback!

Human Delivery by Unfinished632 2023-05-06T16:15:03Z

Fun little game! I would have liked the camera to be a bit more zoomed out so I could better see where I was going and anticipate the police car's arrival a bit more.

EDIT: Also, something that bugged me about the controls: when you reverse and turn left or right, the truck turns the opposite way that it should based on how a real vehicle would behave.

DETOUR by Nozomu57 2023-05-06T15:03:50Z

Absolutely brilliant puzzle game. Some of the levels got me stumped for a few minutes before I realised I was looking at the problem wrong, then felt smart for figuring it out - exactly what you want out of the genre!

D'erps Delivery Debacle by Digx7 2023-05-03T21:35:26Z

I agree with other commenters that the instructions were a little confusing and hard to remember - besides that I really liked the art and the music. I think the "step" sound effect is way too prominent though, and gets in the way of the rest of the audio, which isn't ideal. Pretty solid overall.

This Side Up by Avinancy Games 2023-05-02T21:13:52Z

I liked this a lot! I do feel like the levels with the rotating platforms relied on luck more than anything. Also I didn't twig that the main menu relied on the arrow keys so I thought my mouse didn't work!

Package Parkour by Freakman 2023-05-03T18:09:42Z

I must be getting old! I couldn't quite figure out how to move in such a way that would allow you to climb to really high places like the tower - the wall jump applies so much force in the opposite direction that it puzzles me how you could climb up a single wall. Again, I'm sure I'm missing something!

The lack of mouse sensitivity configuration, while completely understandable for a game jam, was also an issue for me, as I couldn't turn quickly enough to move where I wanted.

Overall I really liked the concept, though it didn't quite work for me in its current state.
