Nice concept for delivery. This game is quite hard for me. Once I knew where the common locations were I could get to them more efficiently. Great job!

This game was pretty fun, but I'm not that good :D

bmanstudio 2023-05-02 20:59

I wasn't sure how to install on MacOS :)

solidhinken 2023-05-02 21:05

Really fun. Gj!

hani 2023-05-02 21:07

This was fun! Some of the sounds are a bit too harsh,, but the fast movement made up for it. Great job!

Very cool game. Cool implementation of the parkour mechanics. Nice controls. 10/10

Felt really fluid to control, though I'm not very good at it and only managed to deliver a couple packages. It might be nice to have the waypoints show on the edges of the screen when you wouldn't otherwise see them, since I kept having to randomly move my camera around to find them. Nice work!

Fun game that I suck at

nuin 2023-05-02 21:12

I liked this game alot, fun movement. I think the below ground dropoff was kinda punishing though, took too long to get back up

brendan-marney 2023-05-02 21:16

The game was really sweet, the movement felt nice and I managed to figure out how to wall jump all the way up a single wall which I found really fun. The Music was nice and the overall atmosphere was awesome!

@bmanstudio i dont have a macos system i can use for testing, but from what i know you should be able to unzip the package_parkour_macos.zip and run the .app file inside, let me know if you have problems. unfortunately the webgl version does not work very well :(

Game was very well set to the theme. :) Great work everyone involved. Package Parkour is a delightful experience. Let me please give you some pros and cons

Pros

Great landscape and level design

Mood and Sound excel to make you feel like a desperate postman

Cons

Less innovation because I think the slide trope is a little overplayed.

Thanks for checking out my game! Let me know if you need any help with TempleOS emulation.

I must be getting old! I couldn't quite figure out how to move in such a way that would allow you to climb to really high places like the tower - the wall jump applies so much force in the opposite direction that it puzzles me how you could climb up a single wall. Again, I'm sure I'm missing something!

The lack of mouse sensitivity configuration, while completely understandable for a game jam, was also an issue for me, as I couldn't turn quickly enough to move where I wanted.

Overall I really liked the concept, though it didn't quite work for me in its current state.

Super clean game, love it. Love the sound design coupled with the simple textures. Even if it is just grey-boxed, everything meshes well. Throwing mechanics were nice, but I think platforming would benefit from some easier way of vertical movement - maybe like a small "vault" or ledge grab and lift would help scale some odd sized structures. Another idea is to leave it the way it is and level design focus more on keeping momentum and traversing more horizontally. Getting up to speed and keeping momentum was definitely the most fun aspect of this game!

freakman 2023-05-04 20:59

@piano-forte ah yeah, i was a little too punishing with vertical movement haha. theres usually a path you need to take, like the tower has a crane you can walk up and most of the deliver points you have to throw from below. mouse sensitivity is definitely something i should have added lol, its the simplest things you forget :sob: im glad you gave it a shot!

freakman 2023-05-04 21:02

@spigs true! would love to explore this concept more. was going for a crazy taxi kind of loop, definitely needs more polish in that area and a vault would definitely help it be less punishing. thanks for checking it out!

Nice learning curve to this, I'm a big fan of parkour and movement in games and this definitely feels nice to move around in. The UI arrows to show your next destination were sometimes hard to find at first, or confusing where they were pointing to. One of the delivery points, a big yellow tower on the wall seemed to want me to throw into the hole but the delivery point was actually on the top of the tower. Fun game though, think I'll come back to this for another play sometime. Nice job!

Enjoyed the game and with some refinement it could be quite addictive. I did find that the air control was really floaty which made it quite difficult, I feel having a little bit more control when in the air would had helped reduce the difficulty of the game. Also some of the vertical drop of points just became frustrating to climb. In particular the construction site area, it felt to small and so one wrong input and you would fall and have to climb up again.

Once getting the hang of the controls it was quite fun but I never felt that I had pulled off a cool route as i never fully felt in control of the character.

The game's quite interesting, even just moving around the map was quite fun.
