LD53 — Delivery

Mailman Murphy by silkworm_sweatshop 2023-05-02T17:33:20Z

Well polished little game. I really enjoyed playing it! I think it'd really benefit from a timer on the levels, that way it incentivizes you to move fast and figure out routes through the levels. My only gripe was I didn't really like it when levels had the numbered or lettered envelopes - I found the color envelopes/mailboxes to be much easier to read and memorize. But other than that this was a really good game!

Pineapple Police by tomrijnbeek 2023-05-05T02:08:29Z

Nice game! Very easy to understand and easy to play fast or slow. I wish there was more attention payed toward sound because this is a fun little game. I think it would work well as a small mobile game where you tap to move your car.

Village Run by 43sam 2023-05-02T20:34:20Z

Nice game! There's a couple of "run around a deliver things" entries for this jam, but I like yours especially because of the addition of the stamina pads. It makes you think about the map more.

Ship it! by Kaptajnen 2023-05-04T16:48:11Z

Fun little game. The craziness ramps up quick! I think it would be better with some sort of hotkey system rather than a mouse - with a key controlling the direction and other keys controlling specific combinations of pushers. That way you still have to think about what pushers to activate, but pushing one package into a truck might cause another to veer off onto a another belt or off the whole track.

Electron Odyssey by Ziamor 2023-05-05T02:35:38Z

Cool concept - I could definitely see this fleshed out into a larger game with other electronic components like inductors or switches. I was there was more!

Delivery Expedition by filgreen3 2023-05-03T22:44:42Z

Great art and concept! Can't really think of wrong with it. My only suggestion is maybe add some kind of telegraph for when the zappers turn on.

Storky McStorkface Express by Flying Dog Fish 2023-05-04T16:37:21Z

I love the sounds effects and the art style. It reminds me of old flash games and gives this game some charm. My only suggestions would be to add some more scenery/art to the level itself and turn down the volume of the sounds just a little bit - some of them were relatively loud.

Culling Cards by picross 2023-05-04T15:53:50Z

Great aesthetic, polished, dope music, overall a great entry!

Supply Sprint by Mololo 2023-05-03T22:16:31Z

Super cool, reminds me of old flash games! Definitely flesh this out a bit and add some variety in the gameplay - maybe like different kinds of trucks or like trucks with a trailer. My only real gripe is that the color of the grey bumps on some of the hills blend in with some of the lighter layers of the background - you just need to adjust the contrast a smidge.

Solar Express by Jellybean 2023-05-03T23:09:40Z

Love the space theme! I played it for a bit and racked up a little bit of money. I'd suggest maybe varying the jobs given out at each planet. I found that a good strategy was, believe it or not, to deliver back and forth between mercury and the outer planets. Mercury orbits so fast that you can time your trip to an outer planet fairly quickly and the profit/cost ratio between delivering between mercury and the outer planets is generally better than planet hopping between planets next-door to each other. Whenever I landed at an outer planet there was a good chance there would be a job to deliver back to Mercury and vice versa.

Packing Panic! by joaosilva22 2023-05-05T01:58:55Z

The decision to have the controls use the QWOP keys is genius. It adds a different kinds of panic - not one where your overwhelmed by the number of things on screen or the speed at which the game is progressing, but one where you have to second guess yourself because your brain and fingers are syncing up to what your eyes see. Awesome little game!

Neiro by DanielShershnev2Game1 2023-05-02T21:03:29Z

I actually real like this game. It just needs a bit of polish - maybe some more feedback when the cube lands, or effects on the falling platforms. It super zen, reminds me of a game the game EDGE.

Beep Beep by Ty1rl 2023-05-03T22:23:18Z

Cool game! I love the shader that makes the vertices of everything move a bit. It's not overdone like in a lot of "demakes", and I think it actually gives the game a bit of an hand-drawn feel. Driving feels nice. My suggestion would be to maybe increase the time when you make a delivery that way the game lasts a bit longer.

Courier Pigeon by Valyn Tyler 2023-05-02T20:17:52Z

This is a neat idea! It would be cool to see this fleshed out into a larger game. I think others have made some good suggestions for things like a mini-map or instructions. I think something that would add a lot to this now would be some city ambiance - cars honking, people talking, etc. Also, I love the design of the pigeon!

Delivery Boy by waptaincaffles 2023-05-02T17:14:34Z

Great game! Simple and on-point for the theme. I like the way the delivery boy controls and how easily you can accept new deliveries - simple controls and a clear objective means you can really zone-out can get absorbed into the game.

Spam Simulator by Mitchell J 2023-05-02T18:10:20Z

@makerart Thanks for your feedback! I really like the idea that you get a bonus from not opening an email. Also sorry about the file size. I think it's because we started with the URP blank project in Unity - we weren't sure exactly what we wanted to do in terms of the game, so I decided to make a URP project in case we wanted to do some fancy stuff. When we finally got knee-deep into the jam, it was already too late to fiddle around with moving stuff. I'd love to rebuild the project to reduce the file size, but I'm not sure if that would be breaking rules.

Spam Simulator by Mitchell J 2023-05-08T16:09:42Z

@massena Thanks for your feedback! We actually had a discussion about how the emails should come into the inbox, and we ultimately decided that they should enter in from the top and push the older ones down. We felt that since that's what actual email clients do, the game should do it too. For the most part during our play testing, we liked this change as it added a bit of pressure once emails start rolling in, but we did see how it could be annoying. We had originally planned for a hotkey system - for example pressing DEL would trash the currently selected email - this would have alleviated the issue, but we ran out of time. If we ever get around to "finishing" the game adding hotkeys would one of the first things we do.

Doggy Delivery by Silas 2023-05-04T18:21:46Z

I played the escort mode before playing the fetch mode. It took me a second to release that hitting the obstacles and doing dog things and gave you points. 10/10 wholesome doggerino gameplay.

The Pizza Shall Be Delivered by August Speisman 2023-05-05T02:23:27Z

Oh yeah its pizza time. Everything is better with a grappling hook - including pizza delivery. It took me a second to figure out how the throw/grapple worked, but once I figured it out I was set. I wish there was a little bit more control after you release the grapple from a swing. It feels a bit stiff (if that makes any sense) especially if you give yourself a vertical trajectory. Other than that I liked the movement. Also, props for the voice acting!

Package Parkour by Freakman 2023-05-03T22:05:29Z

Super clean game, love it. Love the sound design coupled with the simple textures. Even if it is just grey-boxed, everything meshes well. Throwing mechanics were nice, but I think platforming would benefit from some easier way of vertical movement - maybe like a small "vault" or ledge grab and lift would help scale some odd sized structures. Another idea is to leave it the way it is and level design focus more on keeping momentum and traversing more horizontally. Getting up to speed and keeping momentum was definitely the most fun aspect of this game!
