Awesome! Super moody. Felt like playing a trashy Deus Ex. Loved it. I managed to escape the bounds and run around a little, was hoping there would be a secret out there :spy: The baskets were a bit janky to use, would have been nice if they automatically self-righted when you picked them up or something, any way to make them a bit more useful

lululululu 2022-10-04 03:20

whoa this was really cool! very moody! were there multiple endings?

kenforest 2022-10-04 19:07

@lululululu Thanks, I wanted to make several endings, but alas, there is very little time.

pfannkuchen 2022-10-04 20:40

Mood and graphics are just awesone, love it. This is a fun idea and it's nicely done, but the moment with truck is too hard for me. Maybe you could make taking objects simpler, or maybe it's just my impatience. Also throwing didn't always work

tommo120 2022-10-05 15:49

That was incredible! Seriously dig the whole PS1 aesthetic and you really nailed it here, the whole mood of the game is fantastic, everything feels so ominous. Loved the boss battle, that was really unexpected, and the goose gave me a good chuckle. I expected the credits to feature more names, came as a shock when I saw you were the sole developer of this! Really incredible work! My only complaint would be that the movement feels a little too slidey, other than that though, loved every second of it!

galaxybat 2022-10-05 16:37

Incredible, love the vibe. And the honk. The only thing I wished for was some variation on the background droning/countdown noise, it was wearing me down by the end!

slush 2022-10-05 17:41

So damn atmospheric. I love the filter and rain effects and the timer just having 'showed up' is super interesting. Really love this one, well done!

mvasko2 2022-10-05 19:32

I never thought collecting garbage could be so atmospheric.

Loved the graphics, the audio and the whole style, the mood was excellent here. I also really liked the story. The amount of content here is also very big.

I agree with @tommo120 that the movement felt a bit too "slidey" and I also agree with @galaxybat that there could have been some variation on the background noise. I'll also add that picking up all that garbage got a little bit too tedious at times, even though the story bits in between evened it out somewhat.

Really great game overall, impressive work!

julius-vander-arend 2022-10-05 19:37

Wow that was amazing, I absolutely love the atmosphere, everything from the graphics and ps1 postprocessing to the sound was on point. Also just the premise and world was really cool, it would be really cool to see a bigger game set here.

hagamosvideojuegos 2022-10-05 20:28

I like a lot your game, if I may suggest, with less "junk faarm" can be more funny and you will watch the same things. (More is not better)

Good atmosphere, good controls, good mechanics... well done.

fabian-denter 2022-10-05 22:55

Great mood! Can't really say anything negative here, I enjoyed the PS1 graphics and details like the train passing added a lot. I got stuck when I stood where the drone with the container landed, after it flew away I couldn't leave the container. But nothing that a restart couldn't fix. Overall al great entry, well done!

save-sloth-studios 2022-10-06 09:19

I played your previous ld entry too, which was wonderful, and you continue to create these great, disturbing and monochrome worlds, where my character always feels out of place, destined to break out of this doomed world. Goes without saying, wonderful atmosphere and mood, you absolutely deserve to win at least in that category! The ruined buildings in the background, the rain, the sound effects... everything is perfect!

Graphics might not be everyone's jam, but I have a strange fondness for these distorted PS1 style graphics which you recreate falwlessly. The textures and modells are lovely and your characters look great too! Your work is really really inspiring!

But as a negative I also have to mention, while this monotone garbage collecting fits the theme and the mood of the game well, it's drawn out a bit too much. The set pieces you have are great looking, the story works; and I really think it all would work better without the constant mundane picking up and putting down items, which you have to do a lot of times in this game. Maybe you can introduce a different mechanic instead of just taking these out of the game. The garbage truck boss is a really great example, it breaks up the pace where you have to do something else, similar things to that would help a lot I feel! I also don't think it works thematically when the point is it that you try to escape your garbage collecting job, and you have to collect more garbage to get help from someone who seemingly has no real reason to keep you doing that. But maybe I missed some clue about that.

But that is really not a big flaw, I loved the whole experience, congrats on the game!

hellsquirrel 2022-10-06 10:51

Very atmospheric assembly and garbage disposal. Shaders, sounds, atmosphere, everything is calibrated to the millimeters. At a certain point I forgot that this project was made for jam and started looking for something to latch onto. 4 things that keep me from giving it a 6 out of 5, but only a 5 out of 5 =)

1) Shifting the opening credits to the top, maybe I should have centered them 2) Pivot for rotation on interactive objects is done on the pickup point, maybe should have been done on the center of the model 3) On the first playthrough, looked for the flying ship and did not notice the arrival of the second, and ended up hanging out in a dumpster without giving a friend the opportunity to help me Безымянный.png 4) The part of the game where you have to sort the trash into 4 garbage cans. Maybe you should close them when you fill 7 out of 7.

My English is terrible and I hope it's clear from the text above that the game turned out very cool, and the points above are little things to consider when you decide to make a full game out of it. I sincerely hope to see your project on the steem after a while. Good luck!

otterfaelure 2022-10-06 10:53

In the beginning, I didn't understand the point, I was putting trash in the nearby green bins. Then I came here and saw people discussing a boss and points, so I reloaded and tried to play basketball with the football/garbage.

It took me awhile to get to the area I needed to be.

And then, and THEN. Wow.

It's hard to believe one person did so much in so little time.

This felt like a full feature game, not a game jam game.

The level design, intro confusion aside, is amazing. There are actual characters. The gameplay is satisfying.

Everything about this was really enjoyable.

Thank you for the experience!

i-wrote-it-myself 2022-10-06 16:10

Amazing atmosphere and story, great game! I love it!

faust-mi 2022-10-06 19:44

Awesome! Super mood. Excellent sound and vibe!!! Thank you for game and experience!

rawb 2022-10-06 23:20

This is insanely amazing work. The world you created was so interesting. The level of detail in the game was so impressive. The train in the background at the start foreshadowing the later parts of the game. I also love the little spin that the crosshair does when you point at something you can pick up. AND A BOSS FIGHT!!! Really great work and the PS1 graphics are so cool. I would love to make a game with that aesthetic, any tips on how I can learn how to make this aesthetic?

brusi 2022-10-07 06:57

That was awesome! I didn't expect this to be more than a garbage collection simulator (which wasn't bad as its own) but then the entire story unveiled... I played to the very end! I liked how the garbage collection and throwing skills is what saved you at the end against the truck-o-boss. Great story, cool post-apocalyptic atmosphere!

michaelaranda 2022-10-07 13:09

I'm quite a fan of the retro-style graphics. I found the gameplay to be a bit on the tedious side, and the lore seemed to be a little nonsensical, but I enjoyed my time in this garbage world nonetheless. I think the scope of this game is especially impressive, given that only one person worked on it. Good job on getting this across the finish line in 72 hours!

jmad 2022-10-07 20:40

That went into a direction I was not expecting, all for the better. The backstory is just the right amount of cryptic, too. Loved the boss fight. The spawning of garbage lights and sfx are one detail I appreciated the most. The attention to detail you put in this... congrats on your entry.

dgspitzer 2022-10-08 05:50

Such a great mood! What an impressive game!

andrewrain 2022-10-08 09:56

Trash everywhere!

wolderado 2022-10-09 08:02

Really interesting game! I played a few of your games before and this one is really good too! Congrats for making all of it in 72 hours! My only gripe is that character can only move at full speed or zero so playing it feels a bit stiff

igor-morgun 2022-10-09 14:21

Nice game,i like this style

snakemuho 2022-10-10 12:21

This is too real, man

perrin 2022-10-11 16:32

Very cool experience, some great mood and a lovely sense of weirdness. The boss fight was a bit annoying but overall I think this comes together quite well.

ironcutter 2022-10-12 14:27

This is one of the best entries I played so far, but I have some trouble believing all the assets were made in 72 hours

noam-zeise 2022-10-12 17:15

nice! cool game with a satisfying ending. I love the visuals, the models are beautiful in their grimey, dirty glory. Smooth gameplay, the unexpected fight was a brilliant lol moment. I will say that you can glitch upwards by using the rubbish, holding it below you.

alexander-salkov 2022-10-16 14:09

Very cool graphics and atmosphere, it is also very cool that your game has several mechanics at once

studiokraze 2022-10-18 15:22

Quirky cyberpunk game. Twin Peaks x Deus Ex. Awesome aesthetic and atmosphere. Garbage collecting was kinda tedious so didn't see it through to the end even though I was intrigued. Would love to see a lofi cyberpunk narrative walking simulator in this world.

Played on my stream: https://www.twitch.tv/zedkraze

epeachyband 2022-10-21 02:25

Nice little game

postfrog 2022-10-21 15:00

Nice graphics and overall mood! I did feel however the gameplay got boring really fast (as well as buggy), and movement was really off. It seems from the comments though that it gets more interesting later and that sounds cool, so I'll might give it another shot soon(^:

tommo120 2022-10-24 21:33

Well done my dude! Glad to see you got high ratings :D Very well deserved

kenforest 2022-10-25 07:39

@tommo120 Thank you.
