LD46 — Keep it alive

Dust by DBONGames 2020-04-21T09:10:04Z

Fantastic mood and environment. I found it quite enjoyable to just walk around the landscape and immerse myself in this melancholic world. the game play is interesting if a bit sparse, and the integration with the theme isn't the most solid, but overall a very cool experience.

Continuity by LogFlames 2020-04-21T10:15:02Z

Really technically impressive! I imagine that all the game play and mechanics were quite a lot of work to program, also, I love the soundtrack it really evokes the empty loneliness of space.

Save the Timetree by ResidualToast 2020-04-21T09:22:01Z

I like the restarting mechanic and the implementation of the theme, but I would have appreciated some sort of tutorial as it wasn't super clear what I was supposed to do or how to use the scrolls.

No Signal by mrabnox 2020-04-23T10:14:10Z

the amount and variance of assets here is really impressive< I am also really impressed by the dynamic traffic and pedestrian systems it works really well and feels good especially for a jam. The core mechanic is an interesting take on the theme but it gets a bit repetitive, possibly you could give the player health and damage them if they ran into pedestrians and cars, then the player would have to think about avoiding unpredictable obstacles which would be interesting.

Yea, no links, you might want to check that

Light or Death? by Julius Vander Arend 2020-04-22T09:43:02Z

@joamd Thanks a lot man, this is the artist speaking. I did all the art in the 72 hours, it was quite a bit of work and I ended up reusing a lot of assets, but it was all in the game jam.

Planty's Day Out by CitDev Chris 2020-04-21T01:40:42Z

Overall, I think its a solid game, nothing to crazy, but a good platformer with an interesting mechanic relating to the theme. :)

Last life by baka 2020-04-21T09:28:28Z

Its a solid game with a neat implementation of the theme and a really pretty artstle. However, the controls for the dragon feel a bit unwieldy at times.

LD47 — Stuck in a loop

Infinite Dreams by OddballDave 2020-10-05T19:48:04Z

I love this! the art is really nice and the sound effects are adorable.

The Obelisk by wilsk 2020-10-05T20:07:44Z

Sorry to say, but I couldn't get it to run. The console was stuck on loading the start scene 0 out of 33 assets loaded or something of that sort.

Orbit by nopogo 2020-10-06T07:58:51Z

You really nailed the feeling of moving around in zero G. that alongside the excellent audio work (that *bumping into something* noise is fantastic) and the really pretty particle effects and lighting make this have quite an immersive atmosphere. Well done!

Hyperloop by R3L0ad1 2020-10-06T17:56:03Z

I played this for way too long, definitely the most fun game I have played this jam.

Ekko by PierreNS 2020-10-05T20:43:42Z

First, let me just get this off of my chest, the artistic presentation of this game is immaculate. Everything from the start and end scenes to the glitch effects to the alien level design is crazy impressive and far beyond anything that I would expect from a jam game. This game has six people working on in, three of them artists, and it shows.

The core mechanic (looping clones of oneself) is interesting and well fitting with the theme. It is also impressively well implemented and polished, it's really a cut above the average jam.

However, I cant help feeling that this mechanic could be better used with more interesting puzzle design. There is so much possibility with this mechanic that isn't tapped into. I feel like the the bulk of development time went into the visual presentation rather than the level design. This is something I can empathize with completely as I have an unhealthy tendency to compulsively polish. ;)

overall, this was a very impressive Jam, good job

Rampage Derby by Tudvari 2020-10-05T10:15:59Z

Pretty cool ngl.

The Cold Loop by RAFFE 2020-10-06T10:50:36Z

OH MY GOD HE'S DEAD!! In all seriousness, cool game, I liked the art, good job.

[WebGL/HTML5] Murder Loop by leorid 2020-10-05T14:20:52Z

The dismemberment and procedural animation is very cool, quite impressive for a compo, nice job

Stuck In A Loop - Veggie Loop Edition by Dwayne 2020-10-05T18:22:03Z

fantastic -10/10 IGN -"a seminal gaming experience"

Light footsteps after the rain by Chocolat-Endive 2020-10-05T19:57:27Z

Lovely photography, I really like the atmosphere. Its a bit weird and unusual, and compelling in its own way, this is a submission I will remember.

BipBoop.exe by Julien Darras 2020-10-05T13:27:29Z

The writing is great, its a shame I can only appreciate it when I die. I like this interpretation of the theme, otherwise, its pretty cool, well done

Infinimaze by KirKami 2020-10-05T09:55:06Z

The maze manipulation is pretty neat and well implemented, the controls felt a bit floaty though, it would be better with less delay between input and action

"Used to it." by TheAidency 2020-10-05T13:45:26Z

As someone who is more of a 3D artist who dabbles in programing, visually ambitious 3D games are often what I like to pursue in gamejams, so its really cool to see other people making games as visually impressive as this. The atmosphere and graphics are quite impressive for something made in 48 hours. It would be really cool to see this developed more with the various tasks the player can perform influencing the progression of the game. overall, very good.

Run a circle by SkelleRoznik 2020-10-05T18:26:05Z

the minimal aesthetic is really nice, the experience was nice and polished, however I think it would be a bit more fun with a faster speed and snappier controls.

Break The Loop by Meemog 2020-10-05T18:30:16Z

Its a fun game with nice music, but feel like the spawn rate/ difficulty ramps a bit too quickly and it would be nice to have more space to play around with/ maneuver.

Boomerangs Of Wizendrail by Dan flockhart 2020-10-06T07:43:50Z

very cool, the enemies have a nice artistic design and the sound is really nice too. Well done!

Stranger by Julius Vander Arend 2020-10-05T13:49:00Z

@indiequest The secret is lots of asset reuse and TONS OF POSTPROCESSING :). In all seriousness, thanks for the kind words. I spend a decent chunk of time on the ending sequence, its just hidden behind an awfully convoluted maze, so lessons for next time I guess.

Stranger by Julius Vander Arend 2020-10-05T14:35:27Z

@indiequest there is now a map available to download if you would like it

Stranger by Julius Vander Arend 2020-10-06T12:50:50Z

@caeonosphere the jerky walls where a bit of a coincidence, thought about taking the time to animate them smoothly, but I was already in quite a crunch at that point and I thought it fit the vibe of the game well enough. I know about the wall you are talking about, its a collider issue, but I wasn't sure if I was allowed to fix it under ld compo rules. As for the attack, you have to be close up and behind for it to work, but it could also be a bug, idk. Anyways, thanks for the review, it is much appreciated.

SOMEWHERE IN THE MAZE by AbhiTechGames 2020-10-05T19:21:03Z

I like the movement, the game has a fast paced feel almost like doom. The death effect is cool too

Loop Defender by DreamerofDays 2020-10-05T19:12:54Z

I like the pixel art, I think it could do with a more powerful jump though

Tower of Time by CodeRaurus 2020-10-05T13:11:22Z

The floatiness works well to make this game a solid challenge, there is a real sense of tension after getting to the end on a particularly good run, well done.

10 Seconds from Death by brads.space 2020-10-05T13:05:21Z

Pretty cool, I love the visual style, its simple, but very effective and combined with the music it creates a great atmosphere. the mechanic of the game is kind of simple, but for a short jam game it works and it is very well executed with lots of polish.

Vicious Circle by CameronOtten 2020-10-05T20:18:35Z

very abstract, this game had me surprisingly invested in the mental health of my robot character XD

Blobber by Cherry_princess 2020-10-05T10:06:29Z

I really like this. Its a creative, Interesting interpretation of theme, I particularly liked the glitch effects, that was really well done.

Strange Planet by tengusheath 2020-10-05T13:22:14Z

Very cute little game, I like it. Nothing too adventurous, but its well done and enjoyable. +I like the writing ;)

LD51 — Every 10 seconds

Please don't litter by KenForest 2022-10-05T19:37:45Z

Wow that was amazing, I absolutely love the atmosphere, everything from the graphics and ps1 postprocessing to the sound was on point. Also just the premise and world was really cool, it would be really cool to see a bigger game set here.

LD54 — Limited Space

Rogue Rails: Fractured Cargo by Phillips Albright 2023-10-07T13:34:20Z

A very cool interpretation of the theme. The stealth aspect is fun, but the combat feels somewhat clunky.
