Wow... very nice! The gameplay loop was fun, music fit well, and sfx were really good too. I like the frog friend a lot. Puzzles were well paced, although I thought a tad too easy for my taste. Would like to see more!

Excellent job. Graphics and audio are great, and combined with the text in each level creates a great atmosphere. Really makes you think about how to proceed in the optimal way.
A masterpiece! I respect the from-scratch engine work you did a lot.
Wow very great game. The moody sounds and the art are good working together. good job.
Really novel gameplay mechanic. Last level made me think for a bit! There's a slight issue with readability at times - not always clear which level an object is on or where one will fall due to the perspective. Other than that, the presentation is great. Love the little frog fella :)
Cute little frog. I like the balance between the gameplay, the smusic and the theme. Well done !
Very cool, unique puzzle idea, relaxing visuals and satisfying game feel. Super impressive that it's built with vanilla JS and canvas.
I couldn't work out if there was a way to restart a level when you've failed so I just refreshed the page - was I missing something?
Great cute little puzzle game. Good timing on the level design getting to platform right before the water overtakes you. Great job.
@jordwest On the first level page it says you can press R to restart and Z to undo. You're not the first person to miss that though, so maybe I should have put it on the title screen or something. Whoops!
Great concept for a puzzle game and a nice character design. I loved the sound the frog made when it went up a step. Nice job.
Amazing job, The gameplay is really well thought! The atmosphere of the game is pretty nice, the music was perfect for it! The graphics are amazing and really polished.
A really good game!
I feel like this game sets the bar for me. The music, sounds, art, and game play were great.
The addition of the undo feature added a huge feeling of polish to the game, on top of everything else.
It's a well thought out game with a mechanic that could extend to some great puzzles.
Really great puzzle design! I was stumped on a few of the levels for longer than I care to admit. The floating boxes made for very interesting puzzles. The little passages for each level and the music really tied it all together and reminded me of Braid in a way. Great job!
Such a beautiful and polished game, with a unique game mechanic as well. What a little masterpiece! BTW I love your commit history :joy:
Fun really liked the sound design
Really great game here! The undo feature was a really good thing to have at some places. Except for the text that was a bit hard to read I just don't see any flaws in this game. Awesome job!
I really enjoyed the mechanic, fits the theme well!
Great job! I really enjoyed the completeness and little twist on the sokoban puzzles, there was couple of aha! moments guaranteed from this one. I also found it great that you managed to make the round limits not just a simple number but a center piece to the theme of this game.
Fun game. It was kind of easy until the 10th level which took me a while.
I like the puzzels overall and how the game loaded quickly unlike many others.
Very nice game! Love the presentation a lot, and the little story flavor adds quite a bit to the overall mood of the game. The only thing i can complain about really is that I think the music is a little too repetitive. Other than that this is a really solid puzzle game!
Very cute, beautiful and well realized. (Could use more readable fonts, though.) I wished the puzzles would be more difficult, but I'm OK with more casual/experiential games too, and this one does it very well.
Great game, I did the first couple levels thinking it was a race against the clock before I realized the turn based mechanic. Nicely done! Love the player character!
Great game with an unusual atmosphere, art and music are great!
I am amazed by the fact that you created it using HTML Canvas and JS, good job!
Woahh honestly this is so beautiful. The music adds SO MUCH to the experience, it's really amazing :'). The text was a really nice touch, and honestly, this is one of my favourite games so far!
That was a great short and sweet experience!
The game was pretty simple to understand and hop into, with the instructions by level giving good guidance alongside the level design to really understand what's going on, such as with level 2 having paths that were the exact length to move between flood levels to enforce that concept.
Artwork was cute. Love that the frog is wearing a rain jacket and boots, that's adorable. Rest of the graphics were good and it was very obvious what was going on, with nice touches such as the light blue water around the edges of the structures and such. Good that each contiguous region of land is clearly marked with a numeral, makes it clear where everything it all of the time.
On the design, good decision to add extra inaccessible steps to the side to indicate the water level when the actual level did not have a given Roman numeral (such as the III - VII on level 5). Always felt like I knew exactly what was going on while planning out the stage thanks to that.
I did forget that there was an Undo button despite seeing it at the start, but at least I recalled the Reset so that wasn't too much of a problem. Perhaps adding it as a pop-up if the player hasn't put in an input in a while would help (or just a reset button in the corner, though you do really use all of the screen space pretty effectively, so it might be hard to find a spot).
Thanks for the great game.
Honestly a perfect little puzzle game, in my opinion! The puzzle mechanic was innovative but also the difficulty curve of your levels was gradual enough to make it feel intuitive. I enjoyed the flood theme, and the combination of the text, music, and art all combined to create a really artistic experience.
I'm blown away that you made this all for the **compo**! Congrats on an awesome entry, would love to see if you take it further.
I loved how it looked, how it sounded, and how it played! It creates such a calm and kinda somber mood, I love it.
Great progression and variety in the puzzles, and it was really fantastic to see not only a complete gameplay experience but a narrative one as well. I'm very impressed at the breadth of content you managed to create while maintaining such a high quality level. Bravo!
Wow! Really awesome game! I love cool puzzle games, and the elements and ideas you had in here were super enjoyable. I loved that you had the different levels of water marked on the tiles so I could see where the water was and where it was going. The boxes floating was brilliant too haha I would love to see this expanded and more puzzle elements and ideas added in. Would be a great game for sure. Well done!
I love the core mechanic with the rising water, really great job :)!
The gameplay on this was awesome! I played this one in its entirety and loved it all. Graphics suited the gameplay really well.
Very beautiful game. The music, text and graphics all work very well together to fit the mood.
It took a while for the dificulty to pick up, but it still works very well as a relaxing experience.
this was really fun! and so moody too... i liked the difference of floating and sinking props usage and the puzzle pacing felt just right for difficulty. the further i got the more i was like, "um..." but it wasn't unbeatable, just needed time to think. which is to say, good thing the flood doesn't rise when i'm not moving lmao :eyes:
also [bathtub](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bathtub)
I really liked the artstyle, and the rain really set the mood (also explanation for rising water) :D The last level had me stumped for a while, but the generous undo mechanic prevented it from not being frustrating. Great job!
Cool puzzle game. I enjoyed it a lot! The difficulty progression was just right in my opinion. Some more complex/difficult levels would have been nice at the end. But I guess there was not much time left. I was sad when it was over, because I really wanted to play more levels. :)
Good job on the game!
Really nice game ! Very polished, and a very pleasant experience !
Seriously, wow. I live and breathe games like these, and I think it's super impressive to be able to pull one off in 48 hours.
So simple, yet elegant. A unique puzzle mechanic with short & to-the-point levels that each introduce a new twist. Small touches, like adding dummy platforms to indicate water level for levels that require it. AND THE MOOD! The rain! Ah! I love it.
The music, while contributing to the mood, can be a bit repetitive. But hey, that's nitpicking just to have something constructive to say. :smirk:
I followed you on itch. Looking forward to whatever else you put out there and will take a look at your old stuff when I have some time over.
Nice short puzzle game! I love how you give level number on certain floors to inform player about those floors actual height.
I found this a really thought-out, well-designed puzzle game with a great theme. And made in 3 days, congratulations. I love it.
A clever little puzzle game with a nice Biblical theme, cute, colourful characters, and simple but well-thought-out mechanics. Not much else to say, really. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
@f1krazy not just biblical! There's also the Epic of Gilgamesh, a couple Greek myths and some Indian/Korean/Irish stuff in there as well! ;)
Also, very happy everyone's enjoying the game! I'm working on an extension with a further 10 trickier puzzles ("Great Flood: The Lost Levels") which I'll release separately when I'm done, since I wish I had had more time for level design during the jam.
Loved the 2D platform with verticality style =)
Nice graphics and sound too
This game is really nice, I like the puzzles and how each puzzle tells me a piece of the "story". I finished the game. Well done! My game also has a high water gameplay element.
So cool! Really loved the lateral thinking involving the floating boxes and the handy hints provided by the non-walkable portions as to where the tide was. The Isometric aspect made it slightly more challenging as it was hard to know sometimes where a box , once dropped of an edge, lined up with, but a minor thing. Definitely would be cool to see some more levels!
Really cool game mechanics and puzzels! The pixel art and the music are nice. The rain effect looks super nice, too. The level 5 was the hardes for me for some reasons XD
Amazing game. I think one of my any games, very cool and interesting mechanics. It's a pity that the levels were not very many and they were quite simple except for the last one, it was not simple. The music is pretty nice. The atmosphere is very good, the frog in the hood in the rain. In general, I really liked the game.
One of the best games I've rated this LD! :D
Pretty solid game. I like the graphics and I think it fits the theme well. One thing I'd say is that I wish there was a more clear indicator of height since it was sometimes confusing. Overall though a solid entry
YESYESYES! This is how a game should be. A unique puzzling concept, being able to take your time, restart immediately, cute pixel graphics and a strong theme. Nothing bad to say, my favourite entry so far.
I'm going to be remembering this mechanic for levels I make in the future!
Oh and congrats on being one of the few who didn't have a timer-based game over (we did) very refreshing
I love the game, the music is really calm and it's fun solving the puzzles. Would be nice if it auto resets when you died and if you could push boxes with boxes.
But overall great game :)
Very tranquil gameplay experience, great sound and graphics.
Great game, really unique puzzle mechanics! The numbers on the ground really help to estimate the height. Also, I love the possibility to undo the last movement, well done!
This was very enjoyable.
The puzzle elements were clearly explained and used in interesting ways, and it was all presented with nice music and cute graphics.
Great work.
Nice, polished game. Good job!
I found a small bug: pushing a brick cube from a cliff at the same time as the water rises to your height and kills you doesn't hide your sprite, unlike any other death.
Lovely game ! The puzzles were really interesting and gradually more difficult. It was sometimes hard to keep track of the exact water level but thankfully there was always a scale on some corner of the map. The graphics are simple but really well done and effective. The music gets a bit repetitive after some time but i'm already impressed you managed to do all this in 48h by yourself. Outstanding work ! :)
Fun and innovative puzzle game with a fantastic story!
Wow such a nice game. A puzzle game in my taste! I really liked the undo feature as well!
Cool game, though I'm not personally a puzzle game kind of person. But that music sounds so wonderful it will be a mystery for the ages how one person did it within 2 days! I'm also not very much the poetry type of person either, but it's still cool to see you added that within the deadline as well.
Really good effort, like *enviously* good, kudos.
I was able to level 10 before stopping. Before that level however, I managed to find myself submerged in the water, yet *also* be standing on top of it:

@ronanrory thanks for playing! Yeah, that's a bug, I think I know what causes it. I'll publish a fix sometime soon, maybe post-jam since I also have a few graphical improvements and additional levels I'd like to add as well.
The thought of dying for me was just... Impossible. I wanted to make my way to heaven... to live a life without the risk of drowning, so I embark on a journey with 3 boxes. Named them Terry, Mathilda and stephan. They were great, I knew we could make it forever. Frogod, coming your way!

Overall, really love the way yall took the theme, nice grahpics and nice music (really relaxing)!
Great entry. Really enjoyable game.
I have to say that I loved the game! I really like simple games that use logic. Congratulations on the idea! If you have a little time, come see our game ^^ Humble but from the heart ;)
wow such amazing level design, art and sound style. The gameplay is really awesome. I reach the level 7. Well done!
great concept and game, this one is even supergood for speedrunning and i LOVE that. I encountered one "softlock" tho. (not really a problem, with ctrlZ and R at our disposal but still) when i pushed the first wooden crate in the water and tried if just letting it float up would be faster, i got on top of it. The waterlevel went up to submerge the way back for me, but the crate wasn't high enough to step off onto the next part of the level. Stuck on the crate there was no way to take a move and have it rise high enough to step off.
Absolutely lovely game! Puzzle games are great, and I love the chill atmosphere wedded with the ANE flood narrative archetype - great combo! The mechanics/solutions are really good too.

good stuff.
Wowowow very impressive I'm blown away. Great visuals and audio and foremost great puzzle mechanics where things just work as expected. This was a joy to finish, thanks!
Nice job, most of the levels seemed like a fairly straight forward solution, but the last one required thought. There seems to be some potential in odd vs even movement and the floating blocks, but I guess that's just a binary choice so it's easy to brute force.
I finished all the levels! It was a great experience, I do think that some levels were too easy while some were randomly hard (especially 5) as the mechanic was not really introduced beforehand. Overall one of the best games Ive played so far in the jam
Great work! I followed your account from your previous Ludum Dare entry, and was happy to see that you'd released another game!
I liked the mechanic, and while a few of the early levels made me think the game was going to be super easy, the latter half really made me think. Particularly level 7 where I had to put the brick on top of the wooden box to bridge the gap - I thought that was really clever.
Great game!
@andrewkennedy Thanks! I was proud of that one. I wanted to make sure each level focused on a unique application of the mechanics, even if not all of them ended up being that hard, haha.
Incredible compo game! Great work!
I loved everything about it: The art, the mood, the sound design, but mostly, the concision and simplicity of everything. The big roman numbers to clearly show the height of each level is superb.
Thanks for the game!
Really unique puzzle mechanic and it was used so well in the game. Amazing! Graphics were good, music was nice. Perfect entry?
This was a very peaceful and fun little puzzle game. Also the frog is very cute.
Good puzzle game. Nice feel. Not that challenging. (I finished it)
I will say it does let you get on 2 boxes and go back and forth into the sky. Not sure if this is intentional.
Good job. :)
Congrats on your placement! :D
Wow, placed 8th!! That's better than I was expecting!!
Congratulations on 8th place!
nice music
