Hey @justmars thanks for the feedback! Did you have the crash on the Less Crashes version or on the Jam version?
Great game!
Cool game! Would benefit having some ennemies before the boss so you can practice shooting bullets.
Great game! Very clever use of the theme and I like how when you fail to complete a level in time you just get a delay instead of having to restart.
@krasimir-balchev The mom will follow you back to Lily once you found her! Sorry we knew this was unclear but didn't have the time to fix this
@kr4ft3r Tip: enemies only move every 10 seconds and only hide in specific hiding spots (trees, bush) make sure to avoid walking next to those and make sure you are in a safe spot whenever the 10 seconds hit.
Hey @hexyvexy we did implement a full health system at first but we decided to remove it. We didn't want people being able to tank damage and progress through the game that way. This is why instead we implemented an extensive checkpoint system. Anytime you die you should respawn basically at the point you were at in the game.
Thanks for the feedback @justabread! Yeah the clues/items are randomly generated so you might have been unlucky there. They should spawn in every chunk of 20x20 blocks but they might not if there is water or something else! Our random generation could definitely be improved to be more fair
Thanks for the feedback as well @jonmerrin ! The monsters only attack you when you walk next to a tile they are hidden at, there is no actual hitbox, everything is 100% grid based. Either a tile is dangerous (adjacent to a monster) or it isn't. We definitely could have made this more clear with some visual indications though
Nice game! Got a score of 33. Really liked the concept and how it accelerates. I wish the platformer section and the balloon section had more variation though. (Could easily just had mirrored the layout of the platformer section to throw you off guard randomly). Overall was very fun and I liked the style of graphics
Interesting meta idea!
Some tip for better UX: Pick an input method and be consistent with it. Is this game meant to be controlled using keyboard only or navigated with mouse and using keyboard for input? In some places you use buttons for mouse and in others you expect us to type Enter. This is quite confusing and lead me to wonder what I'm supposed to do at times. Likewise for the ordering a mouse dragging with hamburger icon would have been more intuitive than using the arrow keys. If what you wanted instead are arrow keys, small arrows on top and bottom of the options would have helped to indicate that those boxes are meant to be moved.
That being said those are just small UX details. The concept is cool and good job programming this server capable of managing those quotes with votes and all, very impressive!
Honestly I don't know what was happening but it was very fun to just shut my mind off and kill all those massive waves of enemies. Very satisfying!
Fun game! Would be nice if enemies could not spawn onto you but overall was quite enjoyable
I really liked the graphics and your approach on the theme but I felt controlling the tractor was very slow and painful. I'm also not sure if the anti UFO ball even works? Never managed to do anything with it. Would also have been nice to have a win message at the end or some sort or congratulation text. I painfully collected those 500 apples just to get nothing...
Nice game and fun mechanics for the plants. I would suggest making the plant's effect more obvious visually so you can understand what is going on without reading the info. E.g. the boom melon can have an actual explosion and a wind effect could be added to see the lightfruits be blown away. Good game overall
@frozenfire92 Thank you for the feedback! What are your PC specs?
Nice concept but the game is very tedious before you fix the conveyors. The fact it requires 3 items and one of them is in the dark makes the experience quite painful. Without the conveyor harvesting is useless because by the time you put your stuff in the storage you got a new one. I managed to fix everything except the containment, didn't have the motivation to finish the game. The movement mechanic is also a bit clunky because it always move forward by 1 unit but you can lose alignment by pressing the side buttons. Still the game looks great and it was fun even though I didn't feel like completing it
Very fun game! I died on turn 140. It felt easy for about 100 turns where I had a lot of income but the difficulty curve nicely caught up to me. Very well designed and very great.
Very fun and hilarious! Nice graphics and good controls on the tractor. Would be nice to have more levels though or more stuff to do
Untitled.png
Fun game but very easy! The harvesting is unnecessary as you can just go kill the carrot guy with no wheat. I also haven't found how to switch between weapons I bought. Still was fun, nice combat mechanic and cool animations
Amazing game! My only complaint would be the RNG which makes it less fair to do PvP. When the other uses a weed and you randomly don't have rocks available it really feels unfair. But the audio was amazing, the graphics were great and the CPU voice was over the top! 5/5, great game!
Nice game! Good difficulty, cool graphics and fun gameplay
Fun game and unique little game! Congrats
Very fun! Quite easy to reach a point where you are unkillable but the gameplay in the early game was really fun and the mechanics are nice
Was unique and interesting but the rules are not very clear. I had somehow capture my barn next to me with their queen and I could not recapture with my queen, even though it was not protected. Overall innovative game but it should come with a complete ruleset.
Such a nice little game! Was fun and easy to play 5/5
@raptor851 Sorry for the inconvenience. Perhaps there is too much music tracks (due to it being loaded separately for various BPMs) and so your audio card is too loaded with data. Please try updating your audio drivers or try with a higher performance computer
@raptor851 This game has been built with the same version of SFML we used for our 3 previous game jams and you are the first to report this issue. The only difference with our previous games being the amount of tracks, it lead me to suggest this hypothesis. I cannot comment on your theory as I am not a developer of SFML. Again, sorry for the inconvenience but having no way to debug your issue on our side there is very little we can do.
Great game! Really enjoyed it, I would only improve some of the movement physics to make moving around obstacles a bit smoother but other than that there's little to complain about. Congrats!
Great game! It looks fantastic, sound is great and properly follows the theme.
I think there is progress to be made with the gameplay though. The controls were difficult to master, being forced to move only in orthogonal directions in a 3D game was not convenient, especially due to the time to rotate. (A top down 2D game doesn't have this problem). Also the game starts with a lot of deliveries due and this amount doesn't change so the difficulty seems constant. After playing for 5 minutes I felt like nothing new was happening and so just quit. If there was an increasing number of deliveries such that the game is getting harder and harder, it would make it more interesting to survive as long as possible and make it less overwhelming when playing at first (e.g. if you start with a single delivery to do).
Other than that, great job! Your team knows how to deliver a beautiful 3D experience with immersive sounds.
Unfortunately you game doesn't launch for me, I get the error:
Error The following features required to run Godot projects on the Web are missing: Cross Origin Isolation - Check web server configuration (send correct headers) SharedArrayBuffer - Check web server configuration (send correct headers)
Very fun and original game! Had a great time, great music too
Very simple yet interesting and fun game mechanic! Great job on the execution, art and all
Nice polished little game, good job!
A bit too easy but otherwise great game!
Hey good job on your first entry! It was fun and the levels were well designed
Some tips I would recommend: - Have different sprites for the character in the air and on the and make the character face the direction he is moving, this would increase the amount of feedback the player gets from playing your game - I have noticed your character player has a purple outline, this is likely due to texture bleeding. That is, the transparent pixels around your player in your image are likely purple and fully transparent (191, 64, 191, 0). A common way to fix this is to make those pixels the color of your texture's border and transparent. - Consider having some physics with momentum for your character! See this for example: https://winteralexander.github.io/GamePhysicsBuilder/
Hope any of this may help you in your game dev journey.
Nice game! Very cute 3D universe, neat controls, enjoyable audio and nice atmosphere. Well done!
Incredible graphics and UI. Your team has outstanding abilities.
Thank you for the feedback @raaph and @zanagi.
@meo-benderson when you picked up more than 1 weapon, click on the other weapon in the UI (top left) to shift to it
Great game, very funny and innovative.
Love it! Reminds me of old pokemon game puzzles with the breaking ice. The graphics are amazing and the idea is simple yet brilliant. I only wish I could spam the movement keys faster!
Great game! Good job for making this with LWJGL only
Quite fun and very nice aesthetics. I would say the game is a bit too easy to cheat on by simply spamming forward and getting lucky on many levels, there isn't any incentive to beat a level with care. But it's still quite fun and relaxing. Well done!
Great game, loved the look and feel and the sounds when you select a letter.
As a non native speaker though, this game was quite hard for me. Still enjoyed it
Very fun and addictive game! I really love how simple it is yet interesting with the different shapes of objects. Great job! Got a score of 1900
Great game! Some levels were super hard and I think I got stuck on an impossible level (required 13 GPU while my best had 12, wasn't possible to fit 2 GPUs and the MOBO performance boost didn't affect the GPU). Overall I loved the execution of the theme, great game.
@caerind Thanks for the info, I thought it was impossible because I saved up my points instead of buying anything
Nice game! I wish there was a point system or some objective
Wow what an amazing take on the theme! It is super creative and the gameplay was great. Great job on setting up a story as well.
Fun game! Loved the music and gameplay
Cool concept! Didn't understand how to play though. I can't move any box. When I got somewhere the boxes are moving with the truck even though they are on the grass. Not sure how to progress in the game.
Nice game! Never played a fly platformer before. The movement mechanic was quite unique and easy to learn and get comfortable with. The level designs were quite straightforward and the last one offered a good challenge. Great job!
Funny voiceover and interesting gameplay. However I felt like it took a lot of effort to break those structures. Perhaps I was doing it wrong?
Beautiful visualization! Was the cave generated with noise or was it captured with some some of camera? Either way it looks amazing. Cool vibes and great job img.png
Thank you everyone for the nice comments!
Thank you for the feedback @ownedstuff! We were indeed stretched very thin on this jam, sacrificing the last day of the jam to fixing crashes we had with the web physics simulation instead of balancing the game. I agree about your points, small changes could make some things a lot more obvious :)
@Arteposok hard to tell! We're professionnal software engineers for the most part, not profesionnal game devs and we don't have much experience with big engines like Unity/Unreal/Godot. I make games with libGDX outside of jams, @david-huculak made his own rust game engine called ikari and prior to using bevy, we used our own fork of SFML in C++. I would personally highly recommend bevy to someone who's already very comfortable with programming and is looking to use rust, but not to someone who's learning programming for the sake of gamedev.
Nice! I enjoyed the polish pixel art and animations. The characters are nicely drawn and the voice is a nice addition. I wasn't very good at the game and I found it difficult to react quickly especially on mouse pad, given you need to reselect your units for every order. The combat was quite cool though and the gameplay loop was fairly easy to understand. Great job!
None of them had any babies, they all died before :)
Nice little game, a bit slow to my taste and I should mention it crashed at the end (right before getting into stairs going up) but overall it is a fun shooter that feels somewhat satisfying. I wish there was a way to accelerate the whole game to make it more challenging.
Fun game and well executed concept! The game is short but nicely showcases the gameplay loop. The ducks are quite and well drawn and I love how the pond / terrain looks. I wish there was a level with trucks going over the road! Would make it more difficult. Great job and congrats on your jam entry!
Beautiful soothing experience! I also didn't get the ending after the door but everything else went smoothly. I love the graphics and the rendering for the tiny flying creatures. The character movements are great and the environment is nice. Well done!
45 mices to catch? hahaha I did not have the endurance, especially not while being chased by ghosts and fireballs. Great job, this is a solid first game.
Wow amazing! I really got hooked by this game. It's just really fun. The mechanics seemed complicated at first from the guide but it became extremely obvious from just playing. The table top 2D game in 3D environment is a really cool aesthetic. The animations were slick and the sounds were good. Great job!
Hi, congrats on your game! Can you give us the controls? I could never figure out how to shoot or interact with the dirt patches. Best!
What a fun game! The gameplay is truly amazing. I love how the expiration of the coins encourage risk seeking. The different enemies are really nice and the fact you lose some is really good as well. The beginning intro was really cool, amazing job! I honestly feel like if you gave this game a professional 3D look and sound design it could do well on Steam, the core gameplay is just that good.
Fun game! I wish there was input buffering but overall solid experience. The soundtrack is nice, the mushrooms are well designed and the movement is fun. Great job!
Great game! The music, graphics and dialogue are on point. The gameplay felt a bit slow for my taste (I wish the character could move faster) but overall it's an amazing entry.
Hey there! I ran the game and I'm a bit confused as to whether it's running properly. First I have no audio, then when I start I have a message saying one of my guy is dead:
Untitled.png
That didn't prevent me from dragging my guys onto their jobs. They worked all summer and then winter came, they all went inside their house. A bunch of spiders arrived but then when winter stopped the spiders never left and the workers never came back: 2024-10-08 18_28_11-LudumDare56.png
I was pretty much stuck in this state. The description refers to a menu and game map? How to open them?
Those difficulties aside, the animations looked cute and the graphics were quite nice. I'm sure it's just broken on my PC.
Hey there fellow bevy user! Your game is great in terms of gameplay, it's quite fun and satisfying without much in the way of the player. Great job!
Fun little RTS. I really enjoyed the fog of war, it made it a lot more interesting to explore the map with my army of bees. The game lasted a while though and given the size of the map I felt it took a long time to go kill an enemy on the other side but those are minor complaints. Amazing job!
Key issues I ran into: - Controls were ZQSD instead of WASD on my QWERTY keyboard - Could not figure out how to turn into a mouse / was essentially block. Am I missing a key for that?
Lag wasn't too bad on my GPUless work laptop.
Regardless of those issues, the graphics looked intense and the mood was there.
Fun concept! Top view shooter was a good perspective for an immune system type game. I liked how you integrated the real fact the immune system also kills healthy cells. Well done!
This was SUPER FUN for me. The map size is quite impressive for the jam. Shooting the bees is fun and the fact they drop ammo encourages risk. It's not super innovative but it's quite well executed making it very fun. I think the map looks amazing and showcases very good level design. Loved the final boss fight, felt challenging without being too hard. Great job!
Hilarious game! Had a great time. The size of the map is impressive for a game jam and the movement feels good. I would recommend adding controls on the itch.io page as it took a while for me to discover the sprint key. Great job!
Very cute and unique! Loved the designs on those creatures and their unique food. Well done!
Cute game! I wish there was some sort of way to increase the character's speed, like an Overcook dash or something similar. My hamsters are dying yet the character is in no hurry to save them. I would also suggest having a difficulty curve that makes it easy at the beginning, I found it a lot to handle when starting the game.
Overall the aesthetics were on point and I loved the vibe. The graphics were nicely draw and the music sounded nice. Great job!
这个游戏很难!Great game, the graphics are beautiful, the game mechanic was quite unique and the music was nice. Clear objective and fun experience. Well done!
Nice cute little city! I'm not sure whether I was catching things or just killing them as their health bar still goes down with left click? Otherwise fun experience. I like the music and the unique artstyle
Very funny! Is that the voice of Dora the explorer?
Looks good although I got stuck at the second door. The second switch does nothing except change some shadow, impossible to open the door. I like the music and you guys made a good use of unreal engine. Good job!
Cool little game. It seemed a bit easy, I didn't really need to think much to win, just placing the way points at the end everytime makes you win, but it's a nice demonstration of a gameplay mechanic that could be expended futher. I love the little music. Well done!
Great game! I was a bit frustrated by slimes slipping out when trying to land on them but it wasn't too bad. The dash and block mechanics were well designed, with the repetition timer forcing to learn to use both of them. The game looked quite good, had good sound effects and was clear at showing the player what to do. Nice UI too. Great job!
Cute game love the mood! My experience was difficult as first as I struggled very hard to lure in dinosaurs with treats but once I figured out a strategy to push them into my area by chasing them in the right direction is was much easier. The play / pet mechanics are nice. Love the graphics and the music, it gives a really nice vibe. Funny interpretation of the theme but I think it fits, your dinausaurs are tiny! Great job
Hilarious! However a bit easy. I wish it didn't require to collect a single poop ball to win. The camera angle is tricky, it's hard to see in front of you and both whether you are about to get stomped or not, so I feel like it's mostly luck. However the graphics are great and the intro animation is amazing. Great creative work and congrats on your entry!
Looks beautiful! Congrats on the entry
Interesting little game. Not sure if it's just really short or the game crashed? But I think my worm became big! I think it's cute and the artstyle is nice. Love the shadows. I would suggest still showing the ground when jumping in level 2 (right now when you jump the ground gets offscreen). Good job on the jam!
Congrats on your first entry! The music is quite epic and the mouse is really cute. I too die from an invisible wall but I'll consider that the end goal. Consider making the camera a bit more forward looking so we can see the monsters ahead! (e.g. keep the player centered on the camera at all times).
When I play, I am only a white capsule in an untextured world. I'm wondering too if there's an issue with the export of your game?
Good job. I think my favorite thing about the game is how it creates this fear of being surrounded and the thrill of seeing whether you'll manage to kill them all before they get to you (when backed into a corner). The health system felt fair too, the zombies didn't hit me unfairly. It's nice that there was so many levels, but I wish you could get to the higher levels without having to redo the first few ones every time you switch difficulty.
Some very fun chaos in there. It was quite hard but I managed to get to a point where I defeated all other enemies, except one who kept spinning in the air. I'm not sure how to get to build mode though, do we need to wait 4 minutes for the timer to run out? The concept of modular vehicles where you can break off chunks of each other in a PvP setting is quite interesting though. I'd love to revisit this game if I had more info on what to do to get to build mode. Cheers!
Quite fun, the physics are satisfying and the graphics are nice. I wish there was more sound effects when the balls hit stuff on the board, but the music made up for it with its high intensity. Well done!
The HTML build doesn't work for me, I see the Godot logo and then a network error. Using Firefox, Linux
Stunning environment, the grass with the wind, the ocean and sky blending perfectly are nice to look at. Well done
Perhaps I'm just addicted to seeing the numbers go up, but this is quite a fun idle game for me. The sounds are great. I wish there was a way to upgrades employees without mass clicking as this takes a while, even with the "upgrade all employee" bonuses. The way in which the map scales up infinitely (I assume??) is just smart and the formulas that keep increasing the prices of new offices just make sense. It's quite a satisfying design and an impressive entry for a ludum dare
Good main mechanic, it's simple yet provides a smoothly increasing difficulty curve and satisfaction as you see the boat growing. Very good example where collection is increasing the stakes of the game in a direct way. Well done
Fun game! The photo valuation mechanic seems quite fair, I didn't get much value for pictures of things behind trees, it must check if the subject of the picture is actually visible. I liked the graphics, a satisfyingly simple yet effective artstyle that enables having a lot of assets in the span of the jam. It is unfortunate that there's no way to "speed up" when you run out of pictures and it's hard to tell when to run out of pictures without having any indication of when the visit will end. A progress bar would be nice for that, so I could know whether to use my pictures quickly or not. Overall it is nice, great job
The adjacency bonus makes this game quite fun to think about how to maximize the output of my stamp book. The aesthetics are quite charming and makes for a pleasant experience. Great work!
I'd submit a bug request... but I imagine bugs are part of the experience. I really dig the pixel art 3D artstyle, it's a nice inviting environment for any sort of gameplay. Not sure why magic was involved in picking up bugs, but it was an interesting mechanic. Well done
Great use of the theme, making each thing you collect provide you with abilities is great. I loved the graphics and the music. I wish the level design didn't include a massive pit for me to fall into over and over. Overall it was quite fun, great job
Fun game! The enemies were a bit slow to kill (many hits) but given the length of the game it made sense. The audio work was great, I enjoyed the sound effect and the music (which I assume you made?) was very engaging. Great work!
@xhadie The wires are not directional. If one side is under the sun, then that side will always be the one providing power to the side in shadow. If both sides are in shadow, then whichever has the most power will provide to the one which has less power. There can be cases where 2 rovers are waiting on shadow plates and they are both exchanging 1 unit of power (2, 1) -> (1, 2) -> (2, 1) etc. I agree level 7 is a bit jank! You might need to make your rovers wait an odd or even number to give the right rover 2 battery units. Thanks for playing!
Great immersion, first time ever playing a game as a cat I found this very interesting and innovative. My only regret is not seeing the reaction of the human when he wakes up wiht 10 rats on him. I found the controls very adapted to cat movement, especially the jump as I felt I needed to calculate my jumps just like my cat does when jumping on a table. The graphics were a difficult hard to parse and I think that made the game more difficult but it looked good aesthetically. Amazing work
Nice relaxing experience. I certainly didn't feel much excitment playing this game, perhaps because there was no connection between the work and the collection. It makes an interesting statement on people who choose to collect things for the sake of collecting things. If I was in their place I would find it boring to work 8 hours a day just to spend that money acquiring material things that do not improve my life condition in any way.
Quite fun! I managed to max my stats and tried to find the edge of the mine... to no avail. Great job on the infinite terrain generation and fun little gameplay loop
I went to the roof, but it didn't let me fix "it". The art is stunning both 2D and 3D and the object interaction is fine. However I found the commands too "direct" it felt more like tasks than puzzle, there was no moment when I had to think what to do, I just had to follow the instructions exactly. That is until it told me to go to the roof, which I did, but then the instructions wouldn't update. I tried polishing the solar pannels or bringing the "gun" to it, with no success.
The merging mechanic is an interesting addition to the monster catching mechanic as it solves the problem other games of this genre has, which is what to do with dupplicates monster you caught. The art is amazing and the music too, it makes for a relaxing experience. It's unfortunate that the catching relies on spam clicking, but It makes sense in the context of this jam. Great idea and excellent execution!
Great game. The starting area is ideal to get a hang of the controls. I love how the flashlight "snaps" to random positions, really gives a feel that the main character is stressed out. Actually I'd love to know how you implemented that if you don't mind sharing, I'm quite curious. It felt quite immersive, thanks to both good graphics and good audio. I did not quite understand how to beat the monsters, I would run and close myself into a room and they would still get to me. But it still made for quite a nice experience, great work
Nice! I loved the aesthetics, especially the music, very good mood. It would be nice if the starting intro help you understand the gameplay in a way, as it wasn't easy to get initially.
Well done! I loved the aesthetic, enjoyed playing a game of card against death herself
I loved that this is the only game so far which made me collect things in real life : knowledge on how to design cooler paper airplanes. It's a cool guide to go back to. Great job!
Although it is a bit slow, it works well as an Idle game. It's relaxing and can be fun to check on my chickens once in a while. I wish the basket of eggs wasn't full when you have no eggs, making it more clear you have to drag and drop the egg into it. I'm not sure what's the point of buying nests, cause my chickens lay eggs on the floor anyway. Good work!
The aesthetics are good and the music is pleasant. The mechanic works well and is easy to understand. However I struggle to see a challenge, other than perhaps trying to conquer the map as quickly as possible. I think the game would benefit by having some sort of objective as if you do not tax violently, you can't lose. Great job on your submission though
