Hey, nice approach on the theme. Unluckyly i think the hitbox of the enemys is a lot bigger than you would expect. Therefore its hard to survive and navigate through the enemys. I didnt really make any progress in the game because of that. Also i think audio would have helped the game a lot!
Congrats on finishing your game (without tutorials)! I really liked the title art, although you should probably turn off filtering for pixel art sprites. I'm not sure if you can actually fight the enemies, if yes, i didn't find the button :)

Congratulations on your first game. A game jam as a first entry point to game dev is bold. You can clearly see that you worked hard on this. I will try to be brutally honest now in the hopes the feedback helps for future development:
First the good things:
- The base implementation, movement and idea is solid. I can see where you were going with this - Art is very cute and consistent. Good job on that. - The game runs smoothly
Some obvious pain points:
- Missing sound. Some soundtrack and SFX would greatly improve the feel of the game - Some goal - I was running around for a bit without a goal, I assume this was due to time constraints (I'd recommend to focus on a single mechanic in the future and build a game around that)
Easy fixes for the Jam:
Add some more information to your Game Page. This is where we get to know your game. Upload a screenshot, tell us what the game is about and most importantly how does it work? Which buttons can we use etc.
Conclusion
Good job! I don't want to sound negtive at all. 2 People that never developed a game before and then being able to actually submit a game is a huge success. Keep it up and good luck with the play testing.
Really nice pixel art style! It's a fairly challenging game, but fun to navigate and avoid the bugs.
So, obviously this is unfinished, but that's just how your first jam goes. So instead I wanted to say that visually you're onto something - the heart, the ground tiles, the title screens all look crisp and communicate something, and every sprite is distinct and easy to read.
Keep developing!

Congratulations on your first entry! I can see the foundation for more, but as always that stupid time. :smirk:
I wish you luck and motivation for your future development endeavors.

Congrats on finishing your game! I really like the pixel art. I hope you will keep making other games in the future!
I would of liked more obstacles as it was a bit too easy to escape / lead the ants away; but I guess this is a bit more relaxing and accessible. Also found the patterns a bit repetitive but overall nice graphics.
Hi, congrats on your game! Can you give us the controls? I could never figure out how to shoot or interact with the dirt patches. Best!

It has some bugs, but it's still playable and it's fun! Great for a first game!

@jarrrkob true
I always like to see people starting to make games and figure things out for themselves. That's half the fun! I thought the graphics were pretty charming, but as others have mentioned, the lack of sound is something you guys might be able to address. Also, I unfortunately never found out how to shoot. Keep it uP!

Congrats on making it to the deadline! Keep trying out stuff and you'll get more experienced and you'll be able to do things quicker and more optimized for sure.
As for this entry, I would recommend (on top of what other comments said) to write on this page and on the itch io one the controls and the goal of the game. I guessed it is to collect as much money as possible?
Anyway, keep it up, the road ahead of you is long but enjoy the ride!
Nice start, you have at least made something.
Good work! I can see the idea starting to form here, and I think it was going in an interesting direction. I'm very glad you found this jam to be a good learning experience, I encourage you to see where this game can go and progress the idea a bit, before starting something new again one day! That way you get a more full game dev experience :)
