Great job ! Nice and very funny game !

sharky3188 2024-10-08 06:29

Nice work, some fun strategy involved. A few UX feedback notes. Green move tiles on grass was really hard to see where i was moving, i would suggest any other colour. Having the wasps and hornets having turns when they werent on the first few maps felt a bit pointless. More feedback on how I'm meant to deal with the wasps/hornets would be nice. Overall though fit the theme well and was fun to play.

It runs fine on linux via wine btw. Seems like a game that could easily have a web export. Nice entry non the less.

Woaaaaa!!! Amazing!! your game is so polish for a 72h work. Congratulations to everybody in the team. you guys did a really great job. :kissing_cat:

Game looks awesome, love the art. Cool concept!

crozzy 2024-10-08 21:52

A very fun, interesting and cute game. The jam theme was implemented coolly)

lgk-productions 2024-10-08 21:58

I like the concept, it fits the theme well. Also the interactions with various flowers were quite nice and the bee names a great touch (although it's quite heartbreaking to sacrafice jimmy the bee to a wasp). For enemies it would be nice to have some indication about what their sensing radius is. Generally a very charming game, great job!

Fantastic work all around. The music was nice without being annoying, the art was good (even if everything had its own artstyle), and the gameplay was wonderful. I had a very fun time exploring all of the interactions in the game. I must lament your choice of color usage though, as making the movement markers green and p[lacing them on a green background made it very tricky to see where I could go. Outside of a visual bug here or there, the game ran great as well. Fantastic work! One of my favorites I've tried thus far!

david-soriano 2024-10-09 02:56

It's a very interesting strategy game. Also, the bee sprites are very cute! It would be necessary to indicate what actions the enemies do in their turn or how much life they have. But in general, good work!

Nice game and cool art !

holzez 2024-10-09 10:12

I enjoyed it a lot! Would like to see more levels in the future)

A game that fits the theme very well. The hexagonal real-time strategy game is very interesting. I like the art style and 8bit-style music of this game. Adding some details of game interaction will make the game more complete. Of course, it is very good now.

Fun little RTS. I really enjoyed the fog of war, it made it a lot more interesting to explore the map with my army of bees. The game lasted a while though and given the size of the map I felt it took a long time to go kill an enemy on the other side but those are minor complaints. Amazing job!

diomont 2024-10-09 15:07

Pretty cool game! Using the bees to scout enemies, gather honey, and shield the queen from enemies via sacrifice is a very nice dynamic and makes you think carefully about how to move each bee. As others mentioned, the green movement range is hard to see on the grass tiles, and it wasn't immediately obvious that water tiles were impassable. The bee names were quite charming too.

stracker 2024-10-09 16:45

Ah another cool bee game ! There's some cool ideas in there, but I felt like this lacked a bit of polish, here's some points of improvement:

- Gameplay is not super clear, I had to basically trial and error to see how to kill enemies, and how they behaved. The game does give you the leeway to do that though, so it's not too much of a problem. - Individually there are some pretty great sprites, but their scaling is inconsistent, which means the game ends up looking a bit messy at times.

Regardless, good entry, keep up the good work :)

Really cool good work from the team

davidcode 2024-10-10 07:39

This game is really fun and charming! The art is colorful, and I liked the use of bees and their interactions. I agree that more feedback on the enemies would help. But overall, it’s polished for a jam entry and was enjoyable to play. Great job!

cherwood 2024-10-10 10:26

Very cute game!

morepixels 2024-10-10 10:30

This was quite cool! I loved the art style of the game!

A very interesting little bee, which has many similarities with Civilization 6, and fully embodies the theme of tiny creatures! I also hope you will come and experience our game, thank you

stmate03 2024-10-10 11:36

fun little turn based strategy, featuring hexagons which are the best for these types of games, audio was nice, game worked pretty well, no real comments on the art because graphics was opted-out of (tho I liked the assets used) anyways a solid game!

gaiwan 2024-10-10 11:48

Game is so good at the start but un get a buga the end... But is fun tho !

tomssuli 2024-10-10 12:23

Great and cute game, I liked all things about it!

Encountered only couple of bugs and had to make two playthroughs because on first run my bees would suddenly not light up anymore after giving the turn to enemies. Other thing was that you couldn't use same flower multiple times even if there was honey... at least I think you were supposed to be able to.

I liked the board game mechanics, it was fun to play as bees and multiply 💛. Buzz-sounds were life-accurate and even with the bit actiony music, the mood was nice and relaxing.

Great entry!

suchista 2024-10-10 15:14

A cute game, I liked the music. The rules are still unclear to me, even after I beat the game. When can I drop the pollen to a nest? Or how many pollen parts can a bee carry? I feel like the game lacks some visual feedback. The transitions between rounds could be a little quicker. I still had fun while playing it the bee names were very cute, gj.

mistagiggles 2024-10-11 15:07

Fun strategy game, I like the sprites and the tiles (but consistent scale would make it look even better imo). Some inconsistencies in the interactions made it a little frustrating: units getting randomly deselected, enemy sprites sometimes hanging around for a round while dead? Movement range hard to see over certain terrain. I enjoyed playing it, but these little issues took some of the fun away. Good job overall!

ramchops-games 2024-10-11 23:00

You know Tim Follin? The guy who made an absolute bee-st of a soundtrack for a Pictionary game? Well, this bee game has that, and much more. Love the soundtrack, love the art, love the gameplay, love the bee sounds, love the bee names. There's bee-sically a lot to love about this game!

I have a few small note though, in that it's sometimes a bit difficult to see the space your enemy hornets or wasps are currently occupying as they sometimes ambiguously hover somewhere between two hexagon cells. Also, sometimes it's hard to tell how much honey you need to spawn a new bee, because I would see a full bee over the "Spawn Bee" button but nothing happens when I click the button.

Despite all its flaws, it's still an enjoyable experience. You'd bee-ter bee-lieve it, this is a pretty neat game!

shir0o23 2024-10-12 11:07

such cute concept!

angel74 2024-10-12 12:57

"Let It Bee" is a captivating game that brilliantly combines strategy and management! The concept is both simple and engaging: as a queen, you must protect your colony while conquering a new hive. The constant threat from wasps and hornets adds a thrilling tension, pushing you to strategize for survival at every moment. The bee management mechanics are intuitive. It's a game where careful planning and quick reactions are rewarded, delivering a challenging yet rewarding experience. A fantastic choice for strategy game enthusiasts!

gm3l 2024-10-13 22:47

Haha, gotta love the word puns in the names of the bees. I found it a bit difficult to understand how to make extra bees, and that kinda cost me my queen a few times. It was challenging and exciting, the idea is bee-autiful

sasha20 2024-10-15 18:55

The theme is expertly executed, and the visuals add an extra layer of depth to the game. God Job!
