I seem to hit an invisible wall that kills me? I turn left on the first corridor, and then left after two critters, and I can't go further down that corridor after a short while... Is this normal? It would've been nice saying what the objective was too :) Artstyle and music are nice though!

I like the art style of the game and the main characters movement. Similar to the last comment, I was confused what the object was too, but all together cool first game

Congrats on your first entry! The music is quite epic and the mouse is really cute. I too die from an invisible wall but I'll consider that the end goal. Consider making the camera a bit more forward looking so we can see the monsters ahead! (e.g. keep the player centered on the camera at all times).

Great job on the first game! I realized that I can easily hug a wall to get through the maze easily. Cool old school art style and music!

Yay! I found the cheese! Congratz on your first LD entry! Personally I think this community is very warm and cheerful. No need to ask for mercy :-)

Some feedback:

- Like some already said: by hugging the walls, most insects can be avoided. - It feels pretty unrewarding to go all the way back after getting hit. Some kind of health system would have been nice I think - I like how there is music. Some sound effects would have been awesome. You can use very easy tools to create some bleeps/blops. It reaalllyy adds to the experience somehow. Here is a basic tool https://sfxr.me/

LudumDare promotes games whos creators are actively providing good feedback. Only then will your game bubble up to the surface to get ratings. I see that you disabled ratings for your game. Is that on purpose?

I would suggest adjusting the camera follow speed. At times when I'm tryna speedrun the level the camera lags too far and I can't see the enemies in time to dodge em. Good job on your first entry, here's to more!

nice entry! i also noticed the wallhug mechanic, and the webplayer is a little scuffed on the platform. itch.io is a cool site if you want to provide an additional access.

Good entry guys! Nice Job!

Good job, you are amazing

Really good entry. For a first attempt this is really good. It's fun to play, challenging and the music and art is nice. Having a volume slider would've been great but otherwise this was really fun. You should be proud and I hope you guys continue to make games in the future. If this is your first attempt I can't wait to see what you can all make after several dares.

Simple & nice game for the first entry! I would add some savepoints, that so frustatin, when you see the cheese goal, but then return to the beginning! Good luck!

james-poole 2024-10-10 15:17

Nice one! I have similar feedback as others with the camera. I got caught a number of times by the same spider because of the camera not showing me where they are. Fair play on the entry!

Good music, cute mouse, what more could you ask for? It was pretty addictive and hard to stop before finding the cheese :) With some more mazes/levels and trickier monsters I could have spent a good couple of hours on it. Good work!
