This is really cool! I love the pixel artwork! I did keep getting stuck on terrain though, and got spammed by dialogue boxes. I also couldn't figure out what to do with the initial package you start with. I liked the music too! This was fun!

afossofa 2023-05-02 15:34

it is really fun game

yossarian 2023-05-02 15:48

Really great character art and backgrounds. I got stuck trying to get past the bear- I delivered the letter, necklace, flower, brought the cow home and got potions from the wizard. But after that wasn't sure what to do.

Gameplay wise- a game like this needs pathfinding on the player character. It isn't a nice experience to click somewhere on the screen and have the PC get stuck on a collision. But you have the bones here for a great point-and-click! Thanks for submitting.

philwonder 2023-05-02 16:01

Nice throwback to my childhood. I like that there were multiple ways to solve it. I ended up with a few extra items at the end.

duncant 2023-05-03 22:12

Love a point and click. Art style was great, agree with the other comment about it needing pathing, that confused me for a bit. Also it was a bit frustrating that you could drop things on the floor because it made it hard to actually use the items. Good effort though, you got a lot in for a short amount of time.

belle 2023-05-06 07:27

This was fabulous! Wonderful throwback to old adventure games. I'm a huge lover of point and click adventures, so I was happy to find this.

I enjoyed that there were post-delivery completion dialogue, the art-style was lovely as well, very cozy and welcoming. Would be fantastic if you guys made more with this post jam.

Oh and please send my apologies to the mermaid for staring!

simon-rahnasto 2023-05-06 10:16

This was such a nice and relaxing game. One thing I think you really managed to do which is difficult is to make the "puzzles" very intuitive. This allowed me to simply enjoy the ride, as I almost always knew what I was supposed to do when I got a new request or item.

The graphics are phenomenal and together with the nice music you managed to create an atmosphere that just oozes of adventure. Great job! :star:

kitira 2023-05-13 15:33

Wow, cool, an adventure game! I only made 6 deliveries, but I suppose more would have been possible? I will have to play it again ^^ Really nice game.

bukaanka 2023-05-13 16:36

Great submission, bear animation is my favorite, had a good laugh there. The art is nicely crafted and the sound is on point, loved it!

When finishing a game I still had some items in my backpack and I simply wasn't expecting the game to end at that point. It would be nice to be able to continue playing to get the whole story, otherwise I have to start all over again which is a bit of a bummer

tommo120 2023-05-13 16:42

Not a bad little game! Really like the pixel art :) Managed 7 deliveries before I got stumped and then accidentally deleted my inventory items by putting them on top of each other haha!

Good work though, really like it :)

sleepystudios 2023-05-13 16:57

@kitira there's a few more than that! @bukaanka yeah good point - the ending was really rushed but we felt like we should put one in.

codexzier 2023-05-13 17:30

Very nice click and point game. This awakened me with the pixelart graphics for nostalgia.

sebastian-m 2023-05-13 18:09

Really cool game. I love the graphics, the pixel art is just fantastic. I love the idea of fetch quests across the town, its really fitting with the theme. There were some issues moving the character and getting stuck on dialogs or obtsacles, but not big deal.

winter2277 2023-05-13 18:11

Great game! Really enjoyed it, I would only improve some of the movement physics to make moving around obstacles a bit smoother but other than that there's little to complain about. Congrats!

david-yates 2023-05-13 18:36

First off, the art is really nice and the music is catchy and appropriate. All the little animations bring the world to life. Though the courier's walk cycle is maybe a little too silly. There's also quite a lot of content here, more than I was expecting. Impressive for a jam game.

I ran into a few bugs. It's very easy to get stuck on the scenery, so some better path-finding for the character would be nice. Or even just being able to control movement with the arrow keys/WASD as a backup.

Also, if you put inventory items on top of each other, the item on the bottom disappears, necessitating a restart. I'm not sure why the inventory wasn't just a static, unclickable list, as there didn't seem to be any need to combine items or use them on anything in the world (at least as far as I got).

After talking to a person, you have to move away from them or their dialogue box keeps reappearing. I imagine you're triggering the dialogues with a collision -- I think it would be better to trigger them with a click on the person. All the rooms are small enough that it's believable our courier would be able to have a conversation without getting right up in their faces.

sleepystudios 2023-05-14 01:46

@david-yates when does the bottom item disappear? When dragging and dropping in the inventory or when dropping them in the world? Originally we were going to have a system that we have in our other games where you drag and drop items onto each other to combine them but none of the puzzles needed that mechanic in the end.

david-yates 2023-05-14 05:29

@sleepystudios When dragging and dropping in the inventory.

prakkus 2023-05-14 23:25

This was great! Good art, a clear objective with some interesting twists and some clever story ideas (like getting an apple from the snake was very cute). Like others, I had some issues with collisions and devolved to pixel hunting at times, but I guess that's the way with this kind of game. Overall really good stuff.

fabula-rasa 2023-05-14 23:44

I enjoyed playing this little adventure. The world you built has charm and appeal. The music is perfect, and the quests are nice - all woven together in the best tradition of point and click adventures. The bear is my personal favorite character :honey_pot:

Collision shapes could use some improvement. It's very easy to trigger some items/interactions while not really clicking on them (like the first direction signpost, for example). And it's also quite easy for the character to get stuck behind some rocks while walking from one side of the area to another.

The ending is quite abrupt, in my opinion. I talked to the old men who lost the gem and the game just ended. I didn't even get to explore to the west in that section. So I had to replay to go and see what's to the west :grinning:

Fantastic job on the game overall. It's a unique one! And your walking animation made me laugh - in a good way.

dan-allison 2023-05-15 12:16

This was really great and it feels like a huge effort for a jam game so great job with that! The amount of art on its own feels like a big undertaking and it looked great too. I had a lot of fun figuring out what each item did (Though I couldn't find a use for the apple or the flower) and just really enjoyed. I'd echo what other people are saying about the collisions and the abrupt ending but considering how big the game was already and that it's a jam I think it's pretty understandable. One of my favourites of the jam!

kanity 2023-05-15 12:51

Oh, I didn't realize the gem delivery will end my adventure ^^'' But I enjoyed the process a lot, it was chill and nice walking around and making deliveries and meeting all these characters. A cow turning into a goblin also took me by surprise, I thought I messed up ^^'' I like how you added some different branches, like with the castle, you either give the money or take a letter to deliver which leads you to a love triangle quest - that was great! ^^ I didn't notice any bugs, but it was a bit hard to move around while often bumping into rocks and other environment assets, so in this case it could be smoother. But overall, you created a fantastic world in just three days, and graphics are nice!

thomaslebel 2023-05-15 13:33

Holy shit your art is gorgeous ! :o

I loved your game, the movement feels nice, character isn't too slow :) Too bad the gem end the adventure ! I hadn't the chance to do the rest of my deliveries !

Really nice entry though, maybe a tooltip on each item would be nice to remember what it does without having to walk back to the giver ^^

sleepystudios 2023-05-15 17:02

Thanks all! @thomaslebel there is a tooltip it just doesn't pop-up instantly.

thesmellofoxygen 2023-05-16 21:04

I loved the pixel art! The player walk animation needed a few more frames though, since you're mostly seeing that. Fun little lighthearted adventure. I got 8 packages, and I suspected I knew where the others went, but I was caught by the end of the game by surprise. I think the old man should warn you that his dialogue is the final one if you proceed with something like "Stay awhile and I'll tell my tale [Ends game]" with options like "okay" vs "I still have some business to complete here" or whatever. Don't lock us out of your content!

papaver 2023-05-16 23:26

Nice game, with nice music! I finished the game after 8 deliveries, did I find them all? :) I like there's feedback on a click, but I was sometimes a bit frustrated getting stuck behind stuff or people.

The graphics are really nice, but the walking animation is a bit funny, maybe because the character is facing "me" in stead of the way he's going. :)

Overall, well done!

psv-games-studio 2023-05-17 17:21

Great game, beautiful art, sounds are very good and gameplay is very interesting. Good job!

rubixnoob13 2023-05-18 00:09

Cute pixel art, good sound and music, fun game loop. My only complaint is that I kept getting stuck on rocks when clicking for the player to walk to a specific area, some pathfinding might have helped with that. Otherwise, amazing job!

zgragselus 2023-05-19 22:25

I delivered in total 8 deliveries (is that all - not sure??). The game was smooth and played through it.

One of the improvements would be path finding (character often stuck and had to click to move around things). But otherwise it was fun to play.

Keep up the good work!

droo-shayne 2023-05-19 22:38

I really like the pixel art in this one! The forest imagery is really nice. The pathing does feel a little clunky on collisions, but I got used to it fairly quickly. The character interactions were humorous and their riddles were enjoyable- I liked dealing with the potions in particular! Now I just want to know what's at the top of that wizard's tower...

sleepystudios 2023-05-19 22:52

@zgragselus really close!

alchemic 2023-05-20 00:02

This was great! The walking could use some auto-pathfinding to get around rocks and stuff, but otherwise pretty well-made. The artwork is beautiful!

ty-victorson 2023-05-20 00:17

I loved all the different interactions you had with all the characters, lots of funny lines! I did get a little lost at first not knowing there was a path on one of the screens, and the pathfinding around some objects was a bit rough, but overall this game was amazing, Nice work!

eriku 2023-05-20 00:18

Looks like we had the same idea of a love triangle that never resolves, haha. I think I beat it with 8 deliveries. Great art, nicely done.

frau-blut-kranz 2023-05-20 01:12

I really liked this. The characters and dialogue were nice. Pixel graphics is always a plus for me. Definitely will play again to get all the endings.

shaggy 2023-05-20 12:58

Great work!
