I like it!
I've never seen a game like this, and I really like it. It sorta reminds me of happy wheels. I had some graphics issues with the web version, but it was still playable. Anyways its a great game. Highest I got was 3.836. Great job!

Download worked fine though. I like goofy games but man is it difficult! best I could do was stay in air for just barely 3 seconds.
I made it up to 6.3 seconds! so much fun mechanically! reminds me of qwop!
@robert18 I disabled SSAO on the web build. That seems to fix it for chromium-based browsers.
@poplart I almost made QWOP the controls, but I thought QALP would be more intuitive. 😁

This game is weirdly addictive, just like QWOP, I spent way too much time on it, so far my record is 13.668!

Yeehaw indeed! I love the ragdoll physics! I think it would also be fun to add some targets to try to land on. I kept trying to dunk the guy into the pool!
@crocodiletuesday If you land in a pool, somebody will give you a larger fuel tank so you can go further. :)
My god that's one way to intepret the theme. On a serious note I like it! It gives off this qwop vibe except, well, you *fly*. Also really liked the music! Took me a bit to get ahold of the controls but it's fun!
An original idea :) And most important of all it's fun. I do wish the chair was easier to steer, but I guess that's the whole idea. Love the fun comments. Best time was just over 4 seconds. Tried to hit the pools bt no luck. Nice entry!

Love the idea. I was aiming for the pool all the time! Maybe think on adding some reaction to such "achievements" it was kind of anticlimactic when I finally managed to place myself in the pool and nothing extra happened.
Amazing, so much fun! The voice acting truly was incredible, just a goofy vibe especially with the jaunty music, a blast to play.
@kleszcz You should get a fuel upgrade when you land in a pool. I wanted to do a whole upgrade system, but, sadly, ran out of time, so there's just a model swap and a voice line that's easy to miss. Take a look at the fuel tanks under the chair to see if they change.
@jitspoe ok, so I was right that the fuel tanks weren't green before! But I didn't connected it with landing in the pool...

I just wish mr rocket on my lawn chair new a touch more about rocketry or how planes fly... could get a whole lot longer flight and more stable with something to help fight torque/spins.
ok, I definitely played this longer then it took to get a feel for the game to rate it - +1 I kept playing points
the music, SFX, audio lines all fit well with the game play and 'setting' of the game.
it does appear that the seat belt is underrated for the situation... my passenger kept coming off at the slightest bump.
all that said, I would have loved it if the rotational momentum imparted to mr rocket was a bit less from the rockets, the rate at which you need to pulse the rockets to steer was faster then my reflexes could handle. but maybe that is part of the charm of the game.
Really interesting take on the theme, fun for a good laugh. Rockets gave too much angular velocity in my opinion, but I enjoyed it overall.
Had issues with the game loading, tried it two times it would actually freeze up Firefox completely, making it unresponsive for a while. Eventually it would unfreeze but the game still wouldn't be loaded, it might be RAM issues on my system but am not sure
Made me laugh, over and over again. But couldn't play more than one fly really. A bit hard :)
At first I thought this would be mostly just a funny game, but there is a surprising amount of depth once you get used to controlling this beer-powered missile. I didn't make it into every pool, but I did make it into most of them, including the furthest one. Also I broke the game, oops. Oops.PNG
@adroitconceptions & @billnotic - perhaps I should have put the rockets closer together. I was going to try to make an easier game this jam, but that didn't end up happening. 😅 Redneck engineering is only so stable...

Cool game. Once you think you understand the controls you just fly instantly in the next house :D At least I feel pretty good with my 5.162 second highscore. I don't think there is anything that would make this specific game better :) well done.

Super funny! I was really awful at it at first but got the hand of the controls fairly quickly. QWOP style flight was surprisingly fun to play.
I couldn't get my keyboard to register more than 2 keys at a time so I plugged in a controller. The initial 'wtf' frustrations soon became 'come on, you can do better' frustrations. I think I got all the tank upgrades 'cos after a while they didn't change - at least visually. My best is just under 10 seconds and it will probably stay there because I have to tear myself away to play other submissions. The game did not store my best time 😢. Fortunately got a screenshot for posterity. Well done

Very difficult and full of character. This is one of those games that requires some time to master but is rewarding when you mange to figure it out. I'm still tying to land in a pool. Wait, there is controller support? Headed back in ...

I have no idea what I'm doing but I like that. I was aiming for the pools most of the game haha. I realized later I needed to stay up in the air. The cover art alone sold me on this game.

Amazing qwop-like gameplay, absolutely hilarious with the voicelines! My hours spent playing qwop felt like they finally paid off!
@russ-moonbase If you land in a pool, a neighbor will give you a fuel tank upgrade which will allow you to fly longer. General idea is to try to land in pools, get upgrades, then see how long you can stay in the air before you inevitably smack into something. Or you can just fly around and deliberately smack into things and see how far the ragdoll goes flying 😆 Whatever, as long as you're having fun!
@ruruie Well, you see, I said something about a rocket launcher one day on stream and chat was like, "Rocket lawnchair?" then Ludum Dare rolled around and I made a game where you fly a rocket lawnchair!
That was fun, I really like the voice overs/narration in your games :D, I managed to get to consistent 5second runs :P need to spend more time to get a feel for the controls. Overall I enjoyed it a lot, great work!

I have been playing your game during your stream. Oh dear, that was hard. I felt like turning my keyboard around to make the controls feel the right way around. ;) I managed to land two times in a pool and got upgraded tanks. I landed in another pool (but without the chair) and I don't think the tanks changed after that, or maybe there are just 2 upgrades? RocketLawnchair.png
Hillarious! Favorite submission so far...only thing I had an issue with was that while using my keyboard I was unable to use all 4 rockets at once so had to use a gamepad but very fun to play on controller.
@papaver Thanks for checking it out! The chair has to land in the pool to get the upgrade. Each pool you land in gives you another 1s of fuel.

Love it! Great idea, especially the name. Took me a bit to get the hang of it and survive for more than 3 seconds, but after that, it became a lot of fun, probably the most fun submission i've played so far :D Also reminds me a bit of the game "I am Bread"

Fun concept, and I think the audio adds a lot! I'm terrible at the game though (though I improved once I switched to a controller, as my keyboard like others have mentioned couldn't do all four inputs)
Love the game, the controls are frustratingly difficult but perfectly learnable. The voice lines add so much Lol, and the music only playing while you're flying makes it feel so much more intense. The swimming pools add an optional extra challenge that feels so satisfying when you finally land in the furthest (okay, okay, it was the second farthest) one. Screenshot 2022-04-08 211702.png
I could only manage 2 pools. But it hooked me for a good long while attempting to do it haha. I love these kinds of physics games though, even though I'm pretty bad at them. The voice lines definitely added to the repeated crashing. I had a lot of fun with this. Good job :)

I simply did not have the mental dexterity for what is a deceptively complex flight simulator XD But oh did I have a lot of fun. I finally did manage to hit three pools, but it took a lot of practicing to get the launch trajectory just right, fluttering the rockets.

I am going back and forth in my mind whether the music should have been playing all the time (maybe it would get old?) or just when you launch (I never heard more than 5 seconds of it haha).

This was a great laugh lol! The voice acting fit the character and style very well. I wanted to master the controls, but I think I handicapped myself by playing the Keyboard Cowboy's balloon game first. That one wired my brain to do the exact opposite of this control scheme. Tried a bunch of runs but couldn't get past 5 seconds, even with a couple of pool upgrades.

Simple but funny game! Reminds me of games like Happy Wheels and QWOP. It was a bit hard to control but fun. For some reason using keyboard couldn't activate all thrusters at the same time. The main menu UI was a bit unreadable, I didn't notice the sliders at first, and going to the escape menu and clicking play doesn't reset the player. Overall a pretty nice game! Good job
@juulh Yeah, the menu was pretty last minute. Tough to get all that stuff implemented in 48h. 😅 I did add controller support, though for people with keyboard ghosting problems, so you can try using the bumpers + triggers on a controller if you have one.
Why WebGL not work. Why you - cool Dev, work with Godot. Why you didn't use Unity, Unreal?

Rage game! I love the voice acting in this game. It's super difficult to keep the chair steady, and I never managed to hit the third pool that was a little farther out, but that's part of the appeal! Will definitely play more and rage harder. 10/10

Extremely difficult, very fun and it works well. Nice voice acting. I'm not really sure if there are any nits to pick, maybe just that the sounds and music get really repetitive after a few tries.

@yamaisiukdranko I find Godot very quick to iterate with -- great for game jams. Not sure why WebGL isn't working for you. What OS and browser are you using? There's a downloadable version you can use as well.

@dreamerflow You might have an issue with ghosting on your keyboard preventing more than 2 keys from registering at the same time. You can try playing with a controller instead, if you have one (use bumpers and triggers).
I could not play the game because my laptop does not support more that 2 keys press at the same time. If I understand the game users have to aware of the other limited resources in their to achieve longer distance. It is an interesting entry.
@4ahizon Do you have a controller you can plug in? If so, you can use the bumper and triggers to control the rockets.
I'm really bad at this game, I'm still at the point were I just hit 01 pools 😅. It wants me to hate it, but I can't, the sounds, the physics, everything was great - except for my skills at piloting a flying lawnchair.

My record was juuuuust about 8 seconds. The controls seem almost inscrutable at first, but after several attempts, I felt like I was starting to get an actual strategy going for how I could stay in the air longer while remaining stable. So mad respect once again for making a game that is legitimately challenging, but still totally learnable. I've already seen some players get CRAZY good at this. :thumbsup: :thumbsup:
