I like the ship building. But it was a lot all at once so it took a handful of plays to figure out what everything did. May be an idea to introduce upgrades gradually instead of all at once.

Genuinely had a blast (pun absolutely intended) playing this! I love what you did with the theme, I've always loved that RE4 inventory management style of packing stuff in. One of my favourite submissions so far :)
Edit: Oh man that difficulty curve from level 1 to level 2 I just got demolished lol. Tons of fun, love it <3
Loved the game! My only criticism is that your ship becomes too much powerful by the start of the third mission. You become a destroying unstoppable machine.
Using the shield and running into enemies worked for the first level but didn't work after that so I had to actually get some offense. Was waiting for the enemies to respawn for a while on the first level and didn't know what I was looking at when the game started. Maybe if you played one tutorial level and then got upgrades, you'd have context for what you're doing.
Add some Proceduralization into the level, and you get a pretty solid spaceship shooter game!
Congrats for you Jam entry!
Absolutely loved the game! Fitting T.E.T.R.I.S. blocks into your limited ship space felt great and exprimenting with different components was super fun! Game became pretty easy after I figured out to just put 6 lasers and enough batteries into the ship haha.
I did not quite realize on the first attempt that you are supposed to buy gear before the first mission in order to actually do anything useful. Was fun after figuring that out.
Thanks for the feeback!
Amatzing idea! I like this one a lot, but I had a hard time to understand how it works. Maybe you could add some text to explain the ship building/management system. Playing the game, I didn't realized there were upgrades for the shield, generator and so on. I also wasn't sure if the placement of the items is important and if I should but all the weapons to the front of the ship. I also think the second level is a bit hard. Maybe the asteroids should be solid objects, otherwise the player can walk into them and lose almost instantly.
There are already games like this, where you have to place the upgrades on your ship, but you added a really nice twist : the upgrades have tetris shapes.
I did not completely understand how all these elements interacts. I guess the generator is here to provide energy to all the components, but it's not obvious. It looks like my shield was regenerating at the first mission, but not at the next ones. Was it because of my new ship configuration ? It's not really explained.
I don't know if there is an end. I managed to attain mission 3. Was it good or not ? How many different missions are there here ?
The game is interesting, it was quite nice to play it, keep working on it and everything will be cool
I like the idea of using tetris-like pieces for the equipment of your ship. It lacks some tutorial hits or instructions.
When I click on this element during level it gets restarted:

Took me a second to figure everything out, but once I had a grasp on the ship building I had a blast. I have a soft spot for 1941-style games, and this did not disappoint.
I do appreciate the attention to detail where the projectiles spawn at different locations of the player's ship based on your build pattern.
I didn't notice any appreciable difference from the engines, as launching a ship without any engines seems to have fine maneuverability. Also, I made it a goal to build a ship that could use the particle wave weapon, but once I had the cash to do so it turned out to be less impressive than I was hoping for.
Overall a very fun entry, and great to see another build-your-own spacecraft game. I think you'll enjoy our game since we did something very similar.
Awesome concept it's very similar to ours, the controls felt very touchy which made it a little difficult to make it through mine maze (lvl 2) I was surprised by how much damage the asteroids did compared to enemy collisions.
That aside though the gameplay was very emergent and I actually went back and played a couple rounds extra, really enjoyed this submission and great idea making the components tetrominoes!
At first the limited component space looks daunting but with good and balanced components, it's not hard to be overpowered from mission one and blast through easily. Well except in asteroid belt of mission 2.
