LD46 — Keep it alive

Very nice! Unfortunately the screen is quite small, and also the feedback is not very clear for when the enemies drop a bomb - perhaps a very clear sound and flash when the timer starts/a pop up message. Also the player is just kind of waiting until something happens not knowing if he should go somewhere or what or potentially even if he's stoking the flames properly. Some future thoughts perhaps.

Took me a while to get the rhythm and I was like wow there's a lot of waiting/low points in this game... but then I realized how the memory and reflexes tied in together and realized it was quite brilliant! I think it could use... /something/ not quite sure what, some additional layer of depth, but for what it is, I think it's awesome and I put in 5 stars for innovation fun overall and theme. I would say it could use a bit more juice/feedback elements though.

P1 - 5NT by MiltonNH25 2020-05-03T01:31:38Z

Very cool game! One of the ones I liked the most from what I've rated so far (unfortunately haven't rated too too many) but very cool with the researcher/caretaker - would've been cool if it was more interactive between them not just hard one or the other, and to get back to main menu. If there was a way back, whoops I missed it! Other than that, solid. I'm not good at puzzle mechanics so hard to say but seems like it has everything you need in one, didn't play it long enough to tell if info you gain in first mode influences second mode, but if that's the case, then it nails it, and if not, you made two games which is twice as good as one lol :P

Keep It Alive For 100s by royur 2020-05-01T00:45:40Z

Huh so after playing the game I'm hearing about the need to use the mouse... Either I missed something or this was not clearly communicated. I thought you could only move left and right. Certainly a unique idea and it has potential - polish it up and you could have a pretty cool game here!

Epic mood, very nice artwork, very good. It would have done a lot if the intro was shorter or skippable though, and I really did not understand how to play the game which, well that's pretty important haha. It was not very clear how my clicks were or were not affecting his breathing, etc. But I really like what you were going for and so for those reasons I rated fun quite a bit lower but everything else very high. I hope you guys polish it up because I really want to play this more!

So first of all epic props for the one single HTML file, wow! Unfortunately I think it is not all too unique in concept, and the color palette doesn't really help the simple graphics which would've really sold it. Still an epic job since I'm guessing this was entirely manually coded, that's pretty based I respect this.

Very creative level design! Simple mechanics but it works quite well. I do wish that picking up and throwing dodos was the same button though.

I will begin by saying the fact that this is your first time ever doing this, that's an absolutely fantastic accomplishment. Consider the following for improvement. I'd say make sure to play to your strengths for the next jam i.e. if you want to focus on art, focus on art more - if you want to focus on gameplay, forget making art that doesn't have your full attention and just make something super simple that looks great/cohesive. This way, both art and gameplay suffer. Also, it was quite confusing because, I walked into the tower and got game over for it? The fact that this was completed and was your first time is a feat enough to be proud of forever in itself, good job and would be great to see what you come up with after this!

Love the atmosphere! The UI is super intuitive, the graphics are beautiful. Some ambient sound or even clicking sounds will be great to see in later version. Not sure how directly it fit the theme, and I think a lot more clarity as to the actual goal in-game would have been very helpful! I understood based on the instructions outside the game what the goal was, but wasn't sure how we were supposed to get there at all save for brute forcing it. Perhaps I could've spent more time with the game but, well, too many games to rate haha!
