LD43 — Sacrifices must be made

This Little Isle Of Mine by MKnooihuisen 2018-12-04T06:37:19Z

@velocity7 It is quite a lot of text with the tutorial. And that's okay. Not all games are for everyone, right?

@disperse The Feedback comes from the notification panel on the right and the population counts on the bottom-left. Blessing increases the odds of a non-believer seeing the light, as well as encouraging the same types of sacrifices you were given that visit and increasing population in the village. Cursing discourages atheism, reduces village population and indicates you were not pleased with their sacrifice.

Breach Squad by guoboism 2018-12-22T05:41:11Z

Good opening and solid gameplay. I would suggest that a level ends once it becomes impossible to lose (i.e. All enemies that can attack are destroyed)

I played it all the way through on a live stream at https://twitch.tv/cyberlightgames on the 5th episode of the "Dare to Play" series. It is currently my most recent VOD, just in case you want to check it out.

bouncy arts by wowa 2018-12-22T05:45:49Z

Very fun and simple concept! I played it until I got stuck, and then probably longer than I should have live on a stream. You can check it out at https://twitch.tv/cyberlightgames on the 5th episode of the "Dare to Play" series. It is currently my most recent VOD.

The Grassland Kings by Mathstr0fficial 2018-12-22T20:50:39Z

Played this game live on stream at https://twitch.tv/cyberlightgames on episode 6 of Dare To Play. Thanks for submitting! Overall I think you had an interesting concept but the game was rather hard to play since there was no indication of my health or the bosses. I had no way of knowing how well or poorly I was doing and the deaths felt random. That bit of polish would make this game much more enjoyable, but god job with your compo entry.

Prayer for the Dead by Reid Willis 2018-12-04T05:04:02Z

Looks like a very promising game based on the intro, but that loops forever. Also, this is not a web build as advertised and only plays (the intro) on Windows.

TOTEMINI by frescogusto 2018-12-22T20:40:30Z

Very nice little game, with some nice artwork and sound effects, especially on the compo submission deadline. At first I thought there was no way to win or lose, but the ending was indeed satisfying and fit the theme well. I played it live on twitch in the 6th episode of my Ludum Dare to Play series if you want to see it. https://twitch.tv/cyberlightgames. Thanks for submitting this!

Can't get it running

Soul Traveller by Jiri Hysek 2018-12-13T02:56:04Z

This was a lot of fun to play! I have absolutely no complaints, thanks for submitting it to our form through Twitch. The Play-through happened on Episode 3 of "Dare to play" and started at around the 90-minute mark. https://twitch.tv/cyberlightgames

Altruist Project by syverlauritz 2018-12-13T02:19:13Z

I really loved the atmosphere here and on theme. I wish there was a bit more control. On my first playthrough I walked through one door and died with no warning. Introducing the rocks helped, although it annoyed me that I could see them but not pick them up. Overall, solid game concept that could maybe use some polish.

You can watch my play through on stream at twitch.tv/cyberlightgames in the about an hour into the 3rd episode of "Dare to Play"

NUVOGEN by Dmitry Kaidash 2018-12-04T06:52:50Z

Interesting concept. Doesn't feel like much of a sacrifice when the teammates don't do anything but wait to be ammo. I'd also recommend lowering the default graphics settings, as it made my gaming computer lag on the default. And maybe a control list?

Village's Gods by Glauber 2018-12-08T02:44:49Z

Played on Episode 1 of Ludum Dare to Play over at twitch.tv/cyberlightproductions

Labrats by Matank 2018-12-04T06:25:18Z

Playing this on stream was a lot of fun, even though it broke my brain at 1:30 in the morning. :)

Pigheaded Pirate by Shawn Moore 2018-12-23T21:54:17Z

Wasn't quite sure I followed the story throughout, but enjoyed the classic feel and sound effects a lot. You're welcome to watch my playthrough at the end of my latest VOD "Dare To Play" Episode 7 https://twitch.tv/cyberlightgames

King's Last Stand by Pukami 2018-12-13T03:30:11Z

Very well put-together for the amount of time available. I'd recommend putting in a custom cursor that is easier to see than the default Windows one is. Because I was streaming I had two monitors running and I lost half my health when I accidentally moved my mouse over too far.

In case you'd like to watch my play-through, it happened in episode 3 of my "Dare to Play" series and it was the last game played that night. https://twitch.tv/cyberlightgames Thanks for submitting it!

LD45 — Start with nothing

Uballto by Omiya Games 2019-10-24T19:41:00Z

Excellent game! Thanks for submitting it to our stream! We played it on stream today and we should have the highlight available this weekend, in case you want to see.

https://twitch.tv/cyberlightgames Can't link the VoD directly because we're still making it as I type. ;)

Ex Nihilo by agentparsec 2019-10-16T19:42:07Z

I enjoyed the concept and the procedural generation was excellent. If I had anything to recommend, it would be a text hint that pops up to cue them to right-click after X seconds.

Rubber Duck Genesis by Rayne 2019-10-16T20:10:31Z

Interesting concept. If there was any problem it was that I got distracted trying to "code" and missed some of the game

Spikt by Paulo Brunassi 2019-10-16T18:45:20Z

Very much enjoyed the Metroidvania style of the game. Going left at the beginning is standard video game logic, but those things are often missed in the rush of game jam. Excellent progression: Not too long but full game. :)

Terminal by jaydubbyasee 2019-10-23T19:13:08Z

Very innovative. I would never have thought of the platformer/terminal combo but you pulled it off very well. With just enough puzzle elements to make me think and move the game mechanics along.

The Legend of Nothing by Niarkou 2019-10-24T19:15:11Z

Creative mix of the platformer and RPG genres. It would work better I think if movement moved you a full block instead of a half block. I think I kept over or under-walking and dying even though I knew what to do.

A tip regarding the audio, the pop sounds are generally caused by cutting off part of the sound in editing. fade out the sound or leave a bit of silence on the end of the file :)

Check out the highlight of our playing your game on stream. It should be available this weekend over at: https://twitch.tv/cyberlightgames and will be called "Mike plays 'the legend of nothing'".

Still haven't hit the egg. Might want to add an epilepsy warning for the free proteins and the eggs (or an epilepsy-friendly version) but no other complaints.

LD50 — Delay the inevitable

Flood Runner by MKnooihuisen 2022-04-11T17:39:00Z

@ildenh Agreed. Tightening up the controls and allowing settings was on our roadmap, we just misjudged the amount of time we had. This is planned for a post-jam version of the game, as soon as I get a little time.

Out of Breath by raptor851 2022-04-05T19:45:53Z

Absolutely loved playing this on stream! I'd say the hitboxes for buttons doors and boxes could be improved a bit, but it was really great. Another bit of feedback I missed on stream, you could leave the character's reaction text up until the player moves away, the fade out time seemed abrupt.

Going through the VoDs now, so the highlight will be up later today!

Energy tower defence by John llyod Apolo 2022-04-05T19:26:00Z

Very fun to play on stream, even with my mouse bugging out! Once I got that working, I made it about twice as far. The second stage enemy was maybe too much of a tank, but that depends on how many other stages there were that I didn't see. Thanks for submitting!
