Game link is not working
fix the link, it looks amazing and i wanna play it!
Game looks amazing, but sadly i can't open the link
Ok the link has been fixed now
@marshal @gumemura @shan-hsgames The link works if you want to play now
The game gets stuck while loading (in the screen with the unity logo) :( can't seem to get it to play.
@pedro-augusto-ruppenthal I'm working on adding a Windows download now - it should work soon.
@marshal @gumemura @shan-hsgames @pedro-augusto-ruppenthal Sorry about all the problems! The web version does not appear to be working - please use the download link on the page instead. Also, please don't be alarmed if you don't hear anything - we didn't have time to add audio.
@robonaut121 I will for sure, thanks!
Nice game, but very hard.
@leon-oost I agree. The level design was done in a rush, and we eventually submitted it 8 minutes before the deadline.
The art and lighting is very nice. Adding some spooky background music would really add to the mood of the game. Also having some way to influence the aliens other than just run from them would be cool. They could move slower while under the light, or run away from the static level lights.
Anyways, well done!
@pfs Thanks for the feedback! A lot of the things you mentioned we would have added if we got around to it, but we finished with barely any time left.
Amazing art and lighting.
I hear you on not having time to complete enough features in the short time span. It's certainly a time crunch. Congratulations on finishing.
Great job!
@dharby Thanks so much for the feedback!
Really like the atmosphere you guys created with the lights and shadows. Plays quite well too
Nice game! But I have to admit, at some point I gave up. It seems there's no way to enter or leave certain rooms without being detected and trying to be sneaky and careful, while being chased, was honestly too hard for me.
I really like the controller and the graphics ! I don't manage to find a computer... But juste walking in the dark with this light was nice !
Nice game! I love the graphics and the gameplay. good job!
Looks nice, but sadly I did not get very far.
Cool art and mood, pretty difficult, I didn't get to the end :(
Would be cool to have some sounds effects or musics.
I believe that usual lighting does not go well with pixel-art and if it was done pixel-wise(I mean the size of the pixel used in the game art) it would look better. Also, it's too hardcore, but I can't say I don't like. Some guidance or a way to isolate oneself from aliens would be welcome.
I like the graphics a lot, with a bit of audio, this could be really spooky.
It was really difficult though, and not in a good way. There were too many aliens, they were too fast and I had too little health, which resulted in me giving up quickly.
I think it would be better if there was something to balance the difficulty, a few ideas: - have some health kits somewhere - make the aliens slower and/or have fewer of them - have a way to defend yourself - have the aliens stand out more - sometimes I have found myself stuck and unable to move, only to find out that I've run into an alien (maybe the screen could blink red if you lose health)
Anyway, the game has potential, but I think it needs to be balanced more.
Good atmosphere, with some sound would be even better. Also you should show the controllers somewhere ingame, not only in the description. Overall is good
Paying it forward?... I hope... someone(User: Oxropy) pointed it out for me, hope it works for you... regards your HTML5 problem in this blogpost(https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/47/legendary-orbit-golf/publish-for-web) it says “For Unity you might need to disable compression in the web player settings before exporting” maybe this will help.
@acuriosity Thanks! I honestly had no clue what was going on. My only thought was I might need to allocate more RAM in settings (because as soon as I added all the enemies it dropped to 30 fps), but I had a feeling it wasn't going to work. I haven't had time to make a new HTML build, because it takes around 40 mins, but I will try that as soon as I can (probably tomorrow)!
Liked the graphics and the evrioment of this game, also loved the light effects :)
Maybe it would be nice to have the posibility to attack the ruthless aliens so they don't keep following all the time. At first is fun, but when you have like 10 of them chasing you its very difficult to doge them all, considering also the lack of light so is also diffucult to see from where they are comming and stuff
Also, I think music and sound effects would be super cool for a post-jam version of this game, bc will really help the payers to get into the mood of the game
It's not loading because of an error while decompressing the game's files. As far as I know, the solutions are either to disable compression completely or to enable *Decompression Fallback* (see https://docs.unity3d.com/2020.1/Documentation/Manual/webgl-deploying.html). I hope it helps.
I really like the game's mood, I hope it had some deep and menacing soundtrack to it. It's overall kinda hard, I only managed to get to the one monster guarding a tight corridor south. I think it feels strange to have the flashlight so far from the player. Probably the best part of the game is the atmosphere and the lighting. Good job!
@thejonu Thanks! I'll fix the HTML build as soon as possible (which is probably another while). And no, we didn't have time to add soundtrack. And by the way, the flashlight is coming from the multi-tool which follows the mouse. This is where bullets would have been shot from if we had time to add them.
The lights and the pixel art graphics are nice! If only I had some method to protect myself from the aliens (Only if they would moving much slower in the light or something.)
Your game has a fantastic aesthetic and mood, but it's let down by not being able to do anything to protect yourself from the monsters (hiding in a locker would do), think Alien: Isolation, less Alien: Colonial Marines ;)
Nice idea and graphics, as others have said it's way too hard and doesn't really work as a game as you have no way to defend yourself. Personally I think the suggestion of them running away from your torch could work well and could give you the space to actually move around the map without immediately getting caught and then dying very soon after. I never even found the engine room and I played quite a few loops of time.
Okay, just so you know, I'm making a minor update, mainly to get the HTML build actually working (Thanks @acuriosity @thejonu for telling me what was wrong!). I'm also working on making the enemies dumber and slower, and maybe making changes to their totally evil placement (Running will still be the best option at times, though). I might add a quick tutorial and sound effects if I have time.
Also, you will be able to install the original if you wish, though I haven't managed to finish the game in that version because it's so hard (as many people have complained about).
By the way, did anybody notice the easter egg? (Probably not, since it's so heavily guarded)
Okay, the HTML is still not working. I looked in the web console, and got 175 errors... ...I'm not bothered fixing them.
I will upload the post-jam version that is (with a bit of skill) possible to complete.
I played the jam version for the sake of making a jam review. Like other people said, i find it way too hard. Didn't actually progress in the game, just was surrounded by countless aliens each time i went anywhere. In the other way the graphics are really nice and the controls respond just as well. I also missed music and sfx, it could create a way better ambience in your game. Anyway, it's a nice job with the mechanics and aesthetics!
Hey there! (I've played the jam version). I really liked the concept and the feeling created by the artistic choice, that works pretty well! I didn't find any computer and as many aliens were chasing me I've found myself running around over and over again. It's really hard ahah. I would have appreciated a more balanced exploration/chasing system. I've also found the theme a bit arbitrary, like it's there for the sake of being there or just create an emergency. Overall, it's a good game that just need a few adjustments (that's what you did obviously), but it's more fair to rate a JAM version in regard to other jammers :)
Congrats for your entry!
Cheers
Hey this game looks really cool and I just came from the blog post about the play / rate exchange so if you get it working on web again (mac user) lmk!
Nice job! It would definitely be better if you could see more, though. The flashlight covered almost nothing when aiming it vertically.
Nice game!
So I played this game on an ultrawide monitor, it is was SUPER intense lol. The reason is because the game fov stretches out like crazy, and I can only see a few tiles to my north and south. Because this game is heavily up/down movement heavy, it made a basic thing pretty perilous as I could barely see what was ahead of me. The 3 hp thing didn't help either, and I would frequently end up with 1 hp.
None of these are criticisms though. I enjoy hard mode so that actually added a lot to the atmosphere of the game. I did end up beating it after a few tries, and I was definitely sweating bullets making it back to the top of the ship with only 1 hp.
I actually liked the design of the ship level. You took some time to actually flesh out some things like what could pass as a cabin or dining room. It also made sense to descend to the bottom since the thrusters were there.
Great sense of terror overall from the game!
Pretty solid submission, really liked the general sense of tension even without audio!
Finally got the web build working after more than 3 years, which means finally all of my jam games are playable on the web! All I had to was change the Unity version lmao
