I like how the glitching levels cycle through each other. After some time I began to recognise which level was coming and move away from the enemies' spawn points. Being able to reset the cartridge to reset the level and health was a nice touch.

The only downside was starting the game from the menu. I kept hitting enter thinking it would select the option instead of shoot. This did lead to me having fun with resetting the cartridge on the menu.

This is really nice! I don't think I've seen a platformer where the levels swap as you play them - great idea and really well executed! I was utterly hopeless at it, unfortunately. The art was excellent. I wish it had some music to amp up the intensity of it all. The glitch effect and the way that new levels painted themselves in was also fantastic. Really impressive!

Got a couple of error while playing. Love the effect!

@icxon thanks for the feedback! Some errors got fixed now (:

Cool game! I really liked the glitching effect! I felt like it became almost impossible to avoid enemies attacks during the transition. But overall I really liked it.

This is one of those games that has a really cool concept but is also fun to play. I felt like the pressure was really well balanced and the time given before a reset was well tuned. Excellent!

Long Live the Pico 8. love the glitching effects!

Really cool concept! That glitchy level transitions are one of my favorite interpretations of the theme so far. Even some simple background music would definitely add some atmosphere, though the other sound effects were appropriately blippy.

tykenn 2021-10-07 02:03

That transition looks really cool

Like others said I love the glitch transition too, is a blast on pico 8 respect for this effect. Very nice sprites too and my favorite one is screaming :frog:

@rufson I like that you like my frog. This was reference:

Really cool concept here, especially the whole glitchy level switching effect! Clean art, sound effects. At some points, when the enemies got really closed to you, it became really difficult to shoot them because the gun would be past them and their sprite would be directly on you, unless that was intended to force you to move? Otherwise, really cool, great job!

guessimluna 2021-10-08 19:00

clean and nice. Bit hard to tell what you can walk on when scene switches but that seems intentional. Nice job

That glitch effect when the level changes is top notch! Gives the game such a unique vibe. I think the game needs some more feed back when you get hurt and shoot. Also I started the game right on top of some enemies so the rng could use a bit of work as well. Very cool stuff here well done.

Love the transitions. The art and music is good.

I would have liked to see more variety with the weapons.

The enemies like to crowd around your feet where you cannot shoot them; which is somewhat annoying.

luhuchiha 2021-10-10 16:50

The "glitch" effect to transition between stages was great!

guilloteam 2021-10-10 17:52

Great "glitchy" effects, goes well with the "corrupted gameboy save file" theme of the game!

mfauzan 2021-10-13 02:45

fun game and the glitch concept is great.

bearacus 2021-10-19 20:47

Dang the visuals are really good! From the promo art, to the very ingame sprites! Love that we're constantly glitching into new levels, adds an endless mode vibe to it, only awkward thing that got me was the little enemies that required you to be falling from a ledge and only then will you be at the right height to shoot them.
