Fun game, nice graphics and catchy music. The only part that was a bit confusing was using the colour red for both the objective markings (which could be a tint brighter) and the wrongly consumed farmland.
But overall a nice atmosphere and solid game overall.
Actually funny! The screams of the farmers really had me laughing haha! The gameplay is smooth and the audio is nice. I don't quite understand when the completion percents are updated but works for me.
Really original game! Good balance of cutting down the correct crops and trying to get the farmers out of the way. Graphics were cute and the grass especially was really well done. The sound design was excellent (and funny). Music set the mood well.
I did finish the game, but found it pretty time consuming and challenging at times. Some things which could have helped: - Make the hitbox of cutting down good crops a bit larger than the hitbox of the bad crops. - Have a magnet sort of effect on the corners of the crops, they were pretty difficult. - Have some indication that there is a farmer messing up your stuff (like a subtle arrow, or spatial audio). - Something felt off about the position of the ant thingy and what crops it was actually affecting.
And a nice satisfying addition would be to fade in the completed crop circle at the end of each level rather than just transitioning into the new one.
But overall, it was super polished and I enjoyed it a lot. Did you disable ratings on it or something? I don't see a way to.
@benk Thanks for the feedback! I didn't have the time to make a nice ending yet and indeed the transitions are a bit too abrupt. I made a mistake when submitting my game, created a game page but pressed Save instead of Publish, therefore I could not join the compo anymore, so now I joined the Extra format. I guess ratings are disabled or I have to wait till the deadline passes.
Very nice game! I really like the idea. The graphics is also really good - I really like how the crops look, how the target is shown and the effect when finishing a level is nice. The only thing is that sometimes it was difficult to control it and see what I am cutting down/need to cut down (partly probably because of the camera angle, partly because it wasn't clear which part of the alien actually cuts the crops down). But generally I really enjoyed this entry!
Great entry, an alien caterpillar that produces crop circles and chases away farmers. The game is rather challenging because of the controls and very frequent farmer visits, but winnable.
This game makes me wanna be a little bug eating grass and fighting farmers.

Great entry, I had a lot of fun! I love how your game's mechanic explains why the patters are circular! Liked the music and death sounds too.
Great entry! I must admit that the first level took me a while to complete but then it got easier once I understood the mechanics. Lovely graphics and funny sound effects. Very well made.

While I got to 99% at one time (I think it might've been miscounting, given the mess I made), even after trying repeatedly, I can't get that high anymore. I'm honestly not sure at who's better at completing crop-circles, the easily startled farmers, or me :sweat_smile:
While it might be frustrating at times, it can definitely pull you in.
I think the shaders might be a bit much for my poor lappy though, the game lagged something fierce in fullscreen, had to play windowed. The graphics look good tough, and the kinematics on the bug are nice.
Wow this game is so good! Really fun and satisfying to play and looks stunning. How did you make the crop shader!? Also the effect when you go from one pattern to the next is awesome.
Very solid, so polished. I love the crop shader and the movement of the alien. The mechanic is very nice too. Also the music. And everything. So very good.
This is so cool! The models are nice and eating the grass is pretty satisfying. The gameplay is pretty frustrating though and so are the controls :D No idea how to make it any better... The camera angle + precision + mouse controls seem like a hard puzzle to solve.
