LD40 — The more you have, the worse it is

Sugar Crash by conrad123 2017-12-14T18:51:31Z

This turns really crazy really fast! Maybe the controls display could be changed to make it easier to read - I stopped trying to read it really quickly, and just pressed keys until I found the reverse gear or a turning key.

Delver's Sunset by Jimbly 2017-12-15T00:42:51Z

The green and red killing thingies make a sound that is too loud. I've read here in the comments that with unipedalism you are supposed to either look at the animation or listen to the steps; well, listening to the steps is out of the question since I had to turn the volume waaaaay down. I think the idea is good, and the game is very polished with the number of players who got farther, etc. but I got too frustrated with the disabilities. I had to skip vertigo, and unipedalism got me to stop playing after a few levels with it.

Ingredients of Insanity by zirconcode 2017-12-14T18:57:39Z

Only tried it controlling both players myself, but I love the effects (especially the mode 7 like thing)

The Swordest Sword by basmanovdaniil 2017-12-14T19:22:28Z

Very nice concept! The physics feel pretty nice at the start because it feels like the sword is heavy, but later it's kinda weird. Also, this can happen: https://imgur.com/a/23FqV

The victory screen is kinda sudden, because you don't see the boss die. You can stand still next to an enemy, and after the first hit you won't take more damage at all. This coupled with the long health bar make it very hard to lose.

Travel Light by Shivur 2017-12-14T22:01:11Z

It's waaaay too easy. Just run around with under 100 ammo and shoot zombies when you get bored. They are slow and pose no threat.

Askipaouf by shubart 2017-12-15T00:10:42Z

It ran fine on my machine. I liked how the camera behaves. A numerical score and a game over screen would be nice.

Octopode embrace by ThiefViolinist 2017-12-15T00:58:12Z

Those low poly models are so pretty! Shooting is quite hard though, and the bullets seem to go through enemies without any feedback (except sometimes they die)

Kindergarten by dvdking 2017-12-14T19:49:28Z

SO STRESSFUL! The hardest part is kicking balls back to the playing area, and it's not a very fun mechanic. Seeing the day number would be a nice addition. I didn't find any way of exiting the game other than alt f4.

Grave Robber by DaragonGames 2017-12-14T18:18:17Z

It feels very easy, the zombies run much slower than you and are easily killed.

Grave Robber by DaragonGames 2017-12-14T23:37:05Z

I played it again just now, and it's not that they are slow, it's that they usually don't move. It's like they are stuck between the graves. But now when I hit them they teleport to my side, hit me once, and die. It's very weird.

COIN MANIA by Ayushman 2017-12-14T19:32:33Z

The walk animation can sometimes bug out, and I think it would be more fun if you could pick up more coins than the required, even though it would be harder to reach the flag depending on the level design.

Pirate Game by soerensen3 2017-12-14T20:29:41Z

My main criticism of the game is that the enemies can go very far away from you, and chasing them down can be a chore or downright impossible. My first game, the last enemy was so far it didn't even render, and he wasn't on the map either, so I couldn't find him. I think enemies should stay close to you, in an area relative to the number of alive enemies.

Sound would be a great addition too.

Fear Of The Future by PUR3 2017-12-14T19:09:33Z

The death animation needs a bit of work, I think. Very interesting concept overall. Hope you can get those white line glitches fixed!

World Domenation by SvartTand 2017-12-14T21:35:38Z

Moving units around is quite cumbersome, since you have to click Move, then the first cell, then Move again, then the 2nd cell. Even adding a keybind like m to move would make it so much better.

If the window were wider (like modern screens) it wouldn't need the scroll. The victory screen is pretty unreadable. The number of turns it took is a nice touch.

Understanding how to play took me a while. The move button should be grayed out when the current unit has already used all its moves.

Cavern Breakout by jandourek 2017-12-14T22:31:57Z

It has a bug where you can place a bug under you and end up inside it. Even so, it is so good! The level design is very well done, I liked it a lot. If I were to change something, I'd add a per-level score showing the extra blocks you brought with you (yes, I'm greedy), or the time it took to beat it.

Battle on the frontier by GroverTheGrovekeeper 2017-12-14T23:54:22Z

First time I opened the game, I clicked some buttons and it told me I won because the AI had run out of money. I have since noticed that the land count goes down when you buy a farm. But I don't know how many farms I have. Or the resources of my opponent. Or why would I need to interact with the market - things just go down to 0 price eventually, except land.

Those factions you list are nowhere to be seen.

If you start the game and spam the end turn button, your grain goes into negative numbers but you don't lose. I haven't managed to lose.

This game desperately needs a manual. I don't understand anything :(

Fireball Dungeon by Andrew White 2017-12-14T18:48:02Z

Nice game! Maybe there should be a longer cooldown period between shots. Right now the main flaws of the game are that it is very short and not very hard.

Guardian Angel by Raven 2017-12-14T19:59:38Z

I didn't quite understand the cleanse mechanic, and the sound needs work. I liked the text explaining what was going on a lot.

Cosmiring by Dumivid 2017-12-14T19:02:06Z

Like the physics a lot. I didn't make it too far in any of my various attempts though! It didn't take me long to get lost. The map at the start of the game is good, but maybe there could be a key to show it at any place?

Neighborhood's Madness by grostonton 2017-12-14T21:59:22Z

I didn't quite understand the game. There doesn't seem to be a difference between doing actions to one neighbor or another, and if you raise your sociability and wait, the calmness box goes down to 0 and then starts "underflowing" https://imgur.com/a/7V3rj , but you don't lose. Is there a win condition? (EDIT: yes there is, found it)

The pixel art is very pretty.

Corridor by aa4z 2017-12-14T23:32:00Z

Really fun! I started laughing when the coins went out of the bar and started covering my screen. It lags a bit when there are many entities alive.

Did a very small patch today where some wall tiles in a room would appear above the player. In the web version, you'll need to clear the browser cache (or do a forced refresh) if you played the earlier version.

@zirconcode happy you like it, it's what I'm most proud of!

To the other side by cosarara 2017-12-14T21:44:13Z

@dodormeur this is the most common complaint I've received. But if the player ran faster:

* He would be able to escape from enemies, which would remove all difficulty from the game * The time window between an enemy entering the screen and bumping into it would be too small, which would make it frustrating

So it isn't a trivial matter. Moving the camera towards the direction the player is facing could help, but was out of scope for the game.

Happy you like the animations, it was my first time making any!

To the other side by cosarara 2017-12-14T23:09:07Z

@conrad123 Thanks for the feedback! I've added a warning here on the game page regarding the audio.

Breakpoint by Quade Zaban 2017-12-14T17:10:34Z

You should publish some minimum system requirements, it was unplayable on my laptop. Runs fine on a beefier system though. The game itself is *great*! A bit short (as expected of a jam game) but really enjoyable. Please export to more platforms if you can.

Friendzy by MosesG 2017-12-15T00:06:21Z

First time I tried to play the timer ran out before I understood that I need to click on the "waiting for call" buttons to see the number I have to press. Pretty fun once I understood how to play.

Wonder Tsum by regisrquoi 2017-12-15T00:52:20Z

So cute! It feels a bit too slow though, once you know the solution to a puzzle it still takes a long time to spin the wheel and actually do it.
